You will be missed.
Maybe your wife could post once in a while to let us know how you are doing.
Peace.

I’ve always enjoyed Skald’s polls. Always surprised me and often makes me laugh at the hypotheticals he comes up with.
They do have software for the visually impaired. We have it in the student labs at my work. It reads and speaks the words from web pages, pdf’s and word docs. It’s been a big help for some of our students.
Hope at some point we hear from Skald again. You’ll be missed.
Skald, I recall one very humorous yet touching reply from you to one of my posts. Don’t ask me which; that doesn’t really matter. What matters is that you brought a lot to this board–in hypotheticals, yes, but in so many other ways too–and you will be missed.
Perhaps Mrs. Rhymer can help you from time to time with the SDMB. Regardless, good luck with the surgery, and know that I am wishing you the best for a good outcome.
Thank you, Skald, for your contributions here. I have enjoyed them, and you. I will miss you. We will miss you.
“Second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning.”
… and, yes, I hope the surgery and procedures go well. Keep seeing the light.
Best of luck with the surgery Skald and enjoy your family and life :). You’ll certainly be missed.
Shade and sweet water, Skald. And many songs.
Oh Skald, you will be missed so much. Best of luck on Friday. I hope that eye doc can do something for your vision. Enjoy the best of times with your family.
Good luck with the op, and do look into screen reader and voice typing tech.
I have hope that medical advances may bring you back to us, vision restored one day.
Until then, auf wiedersehen Skald. It’s been unique.
I’m keeping my fingers so, so crossed for you.
We zullen je missen en ontzettend bedankt voor alle briljante bedenksels van dat coole brein.
I rarely participated in them, but always thoroughly enjoyed reading your threads. I’m so sorry that you have reached this point in your journey, and I wish you endless luck on the path that you now follow.
There is no doubt that you will be missed tremendously.
"Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange."
Fare thee well, good sir, and go with our grateful thanks.
All the best Skald. You will be missed.
I hope that the surgery goes well, and that your eyes hang in there as long as possible, and that you can make the most of every day.

May Athena be with you. And may you and your sweet family enjoy every minute together. For a long time.
And I will miss you.
Good Luck to you. I hope that the surgery goes well.
The dope will not be the same without you.
Be well, Skald.
So sorry you won’t be active here but wish you best of luck and strength on the next stage of your life.
First of all: best of luck with the surgery. My prayers are with you.
Secondly, I am going to go out on a limb and point out that my Mom’s macular degeneration made her blind, but she was able to use a product called JAWS to navigate the computer screen by voice. Obviously you need to do what’s right for you and your family, but I’ll just say that I am not entirely sure we’ve heard the last Skald hypo. A loss of vision does not necessarily mandate a loss of Dope.
I refuse to accept this. I demand that the universe restore Skald’s vision.
Best of luck with your surgery and your health. You will be sorely missed around here!
