A wizard offers you perfect eyesight to watch your children grow up, but they will grow up to be very ugly (on the outside, no wizard could be powerful enough to make Skald’s children ugly on the inside) also they will always dress terribly, alternatively the Wizard offers to let your children grow up to be stunningly attractive with tasteful fashion sense but it would mean that you go blind for the rest of your life.

P.S. I’m going to go through a bit of “Say it isn’t so!” for a bit, then when I’ve come through that I’m going to miss your presence here very much. You’ve been great! Best of luck to you!
That’s sad to hear, your nutty what-ifs have been fun to read and argue in. You should look into screen-reading software if you don’t want to give this up, there are programs that will read you text from a web page and let you dictate responses so even without vision you can keep up your hobby.
Understood.
We will miss you-and not just for the flying monkeys. Your thoughts and posts have made the Dope a better place.
Your medical conditions are tough. We are all glad you are dealing with them as well as can be.
You are lucky to have a great family to care for and be cared by.
We have been lucky to have you as a member of the Dope.
This is change, which for good people is in fact almost always good in the long run. Enjoy your family, and take care of them.
Your elaborate, hilarious hypotheticals almost always made me think, and always made my day. In my opinion you belong in the SDMB Top Ten Hall Of Fame, and I hope you check in(by proxy) every so often to let us know how things are going because we…you know…care.
All the best. You’ve made this a more interesting place, in a good way. And there are only a handful of posters I can say that about without doing some research first.
Best regards for safe surgery and your continued well-being. You are in for some major adjustments. Take it easy on yourself and be proactive with your emotional health as well.
Perhaps one of your loved ones could post updates from time to time, and all of your friends here could send our continued support.
Many thanks for all your great contributions, may all the procedures and recovery be succesful far beyond expectation, and may you enjoy being close to those you love, Rhymer.
