Porc, as far as I know, we are still on for the 22nd.
I’ll email Dinsdale and confirm. I probably won’t be working that day either, so we can come down to the Loop to hang with Dinsdale and then go window shopping or something.
And yet another bump. All I want for xmas is to not do this anymore. 
Since it just seems to be locals, we need to pick a place downtown. I think we should start with dinner to set a good base for the alcohol. android, where (roughly) are you staying? Don’t post the name of the hotel, just the general area. I know you said downtown - I assume you mean literally downtown, but I know some people who consider River North, Printer’s Row, and Lincoln Park (or anything in Chicago proper) to be downtown, so I just thought I’d ask for clarification. I’ve actually gotten in arguments with people about this.
Since Valerieblaise is a maybe, we certainly can’t expect her to coordinate. I’ll volunteer to send out emails with details to all those interested. But that means all those interested need to send me an email (just click on the thingy below). Also, suggestions on where to eat and drink once we know android’s general location should be posted here, I guess.
I assume the majority of folks are ok with Saturday, January 6th?

Porcupine, I’ll be dividing my time between Rolling Meadows/Lincoln Park/S Side/UoC…no hotels for me, I like to rough it. So plan away, there’s no need to specifically consider me. I’ll find the place one way or the other;)
However, the meet may NOT be in Glenview. I think that was the most dull place I’ve ever been to in my life.
I’m always up for the Wicker Park area. Mad Bar, Bar Louie, Silver Cloud, Artful Dodger, Double Door, and about a dozen more in a three block radius. Closer to downtown I still dig the Mashed Potato Club. I’ll go anywhere, though. You guys pick spots, I’ll get a cab there. Done deal.

Well, those that remember me…I’d like to say I could be there, but I’m moving back to Indiana very soon (Read, sometime in the next couple weeks hopefully)

Nym, Wicker Park area is fine and dandy with me. What does everyone else think?
My typical haunts are Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, or Wrigleyville, but I’m like the rest in that I’ll go where ever the crowd prefers. I’m not picky. I can suggest a spot that would probably be cool in the Gold Coast, its a giant summer hang out that’s dead in the Winter. Its small, very nice, but kinda pricey. I’m sure we’d have no trouble claiming the couches in the back for oursleves, and if its slow we might be able to get in good with the bartender. Parking would suck (but then where won’t it?), but its an idea. For what its worth Friday would be easiest for me since I could head over straight from work, but I’ll probably be in the city Saturday as well anyways. I suppose we should officially nail down a date soon, huh?
Nym, Vblaise and I checked out a lot of the Wicker Park area bars on a Saturday night when planning for the last Dopefest. We found them a bit too crowded for a large herd of people to get a table and be able to talk to one another. You probably know the area better than I, can you think of a place that wouldn’t be a total zoo?
Wicker Park would of course be very convenient for me.
Oh, and what are you doing Sunday day? Wanna get together and cause some trouble? I’m feeling much better lately, nasty flu seems to be subsiding.
About meeting up for dinner on the 6th…um…I would consider hosting a pot-luck at my house late afternoon/early evening if people would be into that. I live right by the Division eL stop, we could stumble from there to Wicker Park bars or take the Division bus or eL downtown for more festivities, I’m not too far from the North Ave exit off I-90…
I am open to anything, including going out, so if people are not excited about a) cooking a dish or b) finding parking in my neighborhood my feelings will not be hurt! But I thought I’d offer.
I’m going to be in Chicago next weekend.
The Mr. is going to be there for business, so I’m going to drop ToddlerNym off at the Grandparent’s (Grand Rapids, MI) and take the train in for a weekend of shopping, drinking and sex.
I’ll be there the 15th-17th, so if anyone is up for an impromptu Dopefest, let me know!
I can probably make a NYE ChiDopeFest, but I fly back to work (Orange County, CA) the morning of January 2, so if it’s later, I’m out.
