I wish they’d at least acknowledged the very obvious point that from Barry’s perspective, it’s pointless to hang around and make things better in this future, because what he’s trying to do is fix everything in a far more basic way so that this future never happens at all.
(And on the subject of things that should be at least considered, why don’t they just send Iris to stay with Harry over in that other universe until the deadline has passed? Or just use time travel to skip her forward in time over the date when she is supposed to die? Yada yada yada.)
Wait, how could it be Julian, if future Emo Flash trapped Savitar in the Speed Force? We saw Julian in the future when current Flash got the band back together.
If that means anything, it couldn’t be Joe, Julian, HR, or Wally.
Or for that matter, when Cisco, Harry and Julian are fleeing Killer Frost, why not have Cisco vibe them to another universe where Frost won’t be able to get to them.
I find myself wondering that a lot, but then I remember that Savitar has all the powers Flash does- and more. Plus, he’s got the writers on his side. If Barry takes her someplace to keep her safe, that will inevitably just make it so that Savitar can get her more easily. Kind of a “Death in Damascus” kind of thing.
Like everything else in the CW DC universe, it really doesn’t pay to think too hard about the situation. We’re just along for the ride.
I was surprised that Emo-Flash didn’t yell at Barry for not taking out Top and Mirror Master without stopping to threaten them.
I’d been thinking Savitar was Wally, but Wally was present. On the other hand…did Wally ever actually talk to Barry? Is he possibly a time remnant or something?
I wondered if it was Ronnie too, when I saw her trust him right away. We never saw his body, after all, and there were weird energy things going on when he disappeared.
And this idea is ridiculous, I guess, since he’s not a speedster, and is dead, etc., but part of me wonders if Killer Frost might trust…Captain Cold. (Is it possible his speed comes from the suit?)
When it comes to time-travel, there’s a few modes of thought regarding this. One is that everything that happened, happened. So if this is the case, your thinking would be correct. Also, if this is the case, Emo-Flash would remember this encounter from when he was current-Flash. But he didn’t seem to.
Another is the future keeps overwriting itself with each iteration of visits/changing of the past. I’m guessing that’s what’s going on in this particular universe, although Emo-Flash is too stupid to realize that. Or at least just bet on it by telling current-Flash what happened. Why be so coy, what has he got to lose at that point?
I may have lost track, but does Barry have the conscious ability to travel to Kara’s earth whenever he wants, even without Cisco’s help? And even if he could, we have no reason to think Savitar has the ability to magically locate her there…
Anyhow, I’m now holding out hope that the Iris we’ve repeatedly seen getting killed is a clone/double of some sort, while the real one is safely stashed somewhere else, although I can’t remember any tech or ability any of them have that would make that possible.
In general, it’s certainly the case that you have to suspend your disbelief on these shows about why they don’t help each other cross-show more often. But stashing Iris in another non-Kara earth could be done entirely without a crossover, so…
