Whoops! Somebody please request the thread to be moved to the Gameroom. Thanks!
shit. Whoops! :smack:
Oh no! Apparently truffles are a fungus, but aren’t a mushroom! And apparently I completely brain-farted on what chutney is, and assumed that it would have curry in it because it’s from India. :smack:
You know, everybody keeps answering “mango”… and I must protest. Mango is a type of Chutney, one might make a “Mango Chutney” but it is not a common ingredient in all chutneys.
I must protest your protest! The question is: “list a common ingredient in chutneys” not “list an ingredient in all chutneys.” Obviously, mango chutney exists and mango was a common answer for many respondents; thus mango is a common ingredient in chutneys.
Well then. the question should read… “Name a common type of chutney.” A common ingredient in chutney is not mango-- a common ingredient in chutney, is vinegar, or sugar, or chiles, or ginger, or mint. Those are all common ingredients in Chutney. There is only one type of chutney that has mangoes in it, and that is mango chutney- it is maybe one percent of all of the hundreds of types of chutney.
Seems like a good time to remind that the 'Feud isn’t necessarily about getting the right answer.
Which is the common chutney most Merkins are familiar with. Therefore, it is a common type of chutney, for this particular group of people.
Valid question. Protest not so valid.
