The fuckers gassed a dog...

I was watching the news today and they showed a clip of a Taliban video that was found. In one part, it shows a dog in an enclosed area being gassed with poison. I could only watch about two seconds before I had to turn away in disgust. The dog fell over on its side and started convulsing :frowning:

Listen fuckers, you nailed an animal. That makes me totally pissed. You killed it in a disgusting way. I feel sad because I saw this animal die on TV, and though I know they have done worse things, that image sticks in my mind more than anything else. You killed an innocent animal.

Damn you news media for playing that clip, and damn you evil people for giving them something to play. I want to be a chemist, and it really doesn’t make me feel good about the profession when asstampons like these can make nerve gas to kill an innocent animal.

It’s hard to hold back tears now as I remember that clip and hug my cat.

I saw it also, it was so repulsive… I couldn’t watch it either.

They actually said that they had also found those big train boxes filled with human remains… it is so sickening.

I wouldn’t worry though, most chemist are not like them

For some reason this effected me too. Here I am, a guy who has actively searched for gore photos and viewed clips of people getting killed with no problem, but I couldn’t bring myself to click the link to see the dogs die. I suppose it’s that they seem so much more helpless or something.

I suspect that numerous countries that have developed chemical and possibly biologic weapons have tested them on animals, probably including our own.

On the other hand, we have not developed them with the intent of using them for mass murder of civilians.

And the animal testing is still sickening.

What exactly would chemical and biological weapons be for, then?

The death of dogs is sad but inevitable. However, what I think is: you fuckers, you killed 3,000 innocent people.

BTW, jools the train boxes full of human remains? They were Taliban prisoners, put there by our allies.

I don’t like what it says about us when the death of a dog elicits this much sympathy while the suffering of humans goes so often ignored.

They were testing their weapons on the dog to see if it would work on humans.

That means YOU.

Screw the dog. It’s a dog. These people are after you and other humans. That’s what you’re supposed to get angry about. I don’t think Al Qaeda has a SPCA or humane society wing.

They want to see you and your family convulse and die just like the dog. That’s who we’re dealing with here. It’s not like they just want to come over here and kill all our pets.

I don’t like what is says about society when some people automatically assume that because I grieve for the death of those dogs that I am somehow not caring about the suffering of people in this world.

Hemlock, don’t tell me what to get angry at. I can be equally angry about the murder of those dogs and about the horrible suffering these monsters have inflicted upon other people, as well as what they are planning to do to you and me.

Damn! I misquoted:

This quote was by ElwoodCuse rather than jjimm.

Good old Osama really stepped in it now! Boy is he gonna get it! He killed a DOGGY!! Why, after the lawyers are done with him, he’s gonna have to answer to PETA!

“Grips, here! Grips for sale! Get em while there hot!”

The U.S. doesn’t “believe” in developing biological weapons to kill people. We like to develope a biological agent that, when deployed over a mile wide area, will make everyone so sick they can’t stand much less defend themselves. Then we move in with our ground troups and mow them down. Somehow, we view that as “more humane” than just blanketing the area and having everyone die without our physical presence.

ElwoodCuse and Hemlock:

I don’t know why JustPlainBryan is so upset about the dog, but it doesn’t make him an asshole. He’s just concerned about the dog.

It takes all kinds, y’know. Just because someone is upset about something and you aren’t doesn’t make him wrong. SOMEONE has to be upset about the dog.

OTOH, I can’t stand it when I’m watching a movie like Braveheart or whatever and there’s a battle scene with people getting slaughtered left and right and someone in the audience starts crying “Oh the Poor Horse!”

thx

Ouisey

Ouisey and I will never be able to watch a movie together

I think I can (maybe) lend some explanation as to why people (like me) were very upset at the sight of a dog suffering so.

Most animals (especially domestic) are trusting, loving creatures. To have one killed in this horrible way only to “see what will happen” appeals to the core of our emotions and heartstrings. The represent a kind of lost innocence and trust that we once had.

People killed in war or mass slaying is more horrendous and gut-wrenching than a few puppies getting gassed, but sometimes when you are inundated with graphic images of human carnage, something reaches through an image of a single animal suffering.

It doesn’t make sense, but it’s probably not supposed to.

I remember feeling the same way when I saw the soldier’s body being dragged through the streets in (Somalia, I think?). He was dead, and couldn’t feel anything, but the image just hurt me more than all of the news of mass slayings in the area.

It doesn’t mean that any of these people care less about the thousands of human lives lost, it just means after being numbed for a while, sometimes other stuff is better at sneaking through.

Ouisey, I’m would get just as upset watching a dog being murdered on TV as I would if I watched a horse, a rabbit, a cow, a monkey, or a person being murdered on TV.

I’m just not a real “Faces of Death” kinda guy.

I think it’s because animals, unlike people, are a lower form of species-they’re not as intelligent, and therefore, more innocent and dependent on us. I think it takes a real ass to want to cause pain to an innocent creature-much like people who torture children.
When people hurt other people-even innocents-often times they have a motive or a reason-no matter how fucked up.

When people hurt animals, they’re doing it just to cause pain, and they’re getting pleasure out of it.

Plus, don’t they say most serial killers started on animals?

Osama hasn’t cornered the market on cruelty to animals. There’s plenty of it going on in our own backyard.

I had a problem with CNN showing it over and over and over again. It is August and kids are home from school. There is no reason they should have to see that.
God fucking dammit, showing a poor dog suffering and dying is not news. So what if Al-Qaeda did it? That makes it fucking newsworthy? What if Osama took a shit under a tree? Would they show that too?

“This just in… we have ACTUAL footage of Osama Bin Laden dropping a huge deuce in Afghanistan. We now go to live to Afghanistan for this shocking story.”

Fuck CNN and every other network that showed it.

I’m not saying you support this Guin, but what about the mentally challenged individual execued in Texas?

for the triple post. Mods, If you’re doing any deleting, please leave the third one, because it has the attribution for the quote.
The board has been so slow today, & I’ve been getting so frustrated, I’ve been making mistakes.
