The Gift of Life in the MMP

It is 94f now. I’m hiding in the building doing laundry. Once I empty the hamper I will set up the new one and put the old one in the good will bin.

Koritza has learned to get around the cling film. She waits for me to go to sleep then goes for the tank. Le sigh. I haven’t put chemicals in for 2 weeks. She should be okay.

I had the leftovers from my shrimp-n-veggies and I swear, there was so much brown sauce, it was like soup!!! I think I prefer our local Chinese place to Daughter’s favorite.

Up over 90 Ferrets before noon. Not sure what to do today. Maybe see if FCD needs help in the shop.

Me fail English? That unpossible!

Someone (a member?) was selling homemade tamales, so one of the Financial Service Representatives took orders. I bought three pork, and three chicken ones for $15. Mi Esposa y yo has one of each for dinner. (Yes, I violated my diet.) One of each left. Another member brought in far eggs, I snagged a dozen. We had two of those eggs left from last time. I had one, over-easy, in my breakfast burrito. Wifey, RN bought a dozen farm eggs from one of her patients earlier in the week. We had scrambled eggs for dinner Monday (I think it was). They cost her eight bucks, but it helps her patient, and the carton is branded.

Keeping up with the walking. Still only a mile and a third, and still slow; but getting a little quicker (especially after changing my route to avoid the hill).

Today I need to move things into the storage unit so that an electrician can see all of the sockets.

My memories of the circumstances are also from a very long time ago. I believe it had to do with the autoimmune concerns. My allergies were severe, the shots were drastic.

Several of my primary medical issues stem from autoimmune issues. My recollection is that the blood bank’s concerns were related to all the antibodies created by the shots.

It would be worth trying again to see if that’s changed.

Quiet day here so far. I should be outside being productive, but after getting a tick on me this morning during Ollie’s first foray out after his breakfast, I’m not feeling the love for The Great Outdoors. It’s nice and cool, still in the low 60Ferrets. Supposed to be on our way to a high of 84F. I’ll close up the house soon.

When my skin stops crawling, I guess I’ll get onto breakfast: A couple of hard boiled eggs, some toast and a bowl of cherries. And then we’ll see what the rest of the day brings.

Unfortunately, they’re closed today and I don’t remember how to open the gate. I know my phone number is involved somehow.

I’ve never understood the use of that term, instead of the obviously correct “heveled”.

84 ferrets, out of a predicted 95, at 1300. This is actually an improvement – we had 88 ferrets at 1000, and yesterdays high was 91. On the other hand, they say it will start raining this afternoon and continue through Thursday afternoon. Who’s in charge of the weather around here?

Only heard three firecrackers (or whatever) from next door, spaced 20-30 minutes apart, and three or four from up the road. Couldn’t see the other cats, but Lily seemed to ignore them. Hope it stays peaceful like that tonight!

Someone in the local FB group gave me the answer. [phone #] *.

Just a quick check-in. I’m taking a phone break for the weekend.

The ribs are in the kamado pot, smoking away.

Mmmm… ribs…

I initially read this as Brains, however, will get baked in the oven. There is a much less heat producing way to that, I think.

Up, caffeinating (still), breakfasted, KP done, lunching and fixing to get ready to go to Sis’ for the holiday. She’s fixing a Hoosier supper of breaded tenderloin, sweet corn, green beans with bacon and new potatoes, apple tarts and watermelon.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

The church dinner was great! Hot dogs, hamburgers with choice of onion, cheese, tomato, pickle. Potato salad, taquitos, cucumber salad. Little white donettes.

My local NPR station is having a bit of a freak out. No regular programming, instead they’re playing truly terrible musac.

It’s nearly time to start smoking chicken legs. Although I really don’t want to spend too much time out in the heat.

It’s 4pm and the outside temp has hit triple digits (the heat index is 108), and I moved to the TV room about 30 min ago after spending several hours on the main/second floor. I built Lego (I finished the NYC Big Apple set and started the Shelby Cobra) while watching Hamilton*, played the piano for the first time since the move, and finally decided that I want the turntable to be in the main living room. I’d put it and its stand in the home office, but I hadn’t plugged it in or taken my albums out of their storage boxes yet because I kept going back and forth about where I really wanted it all to be. As soon as I decided, though, that location felt obvious and I wondered what took me so long. I moved the stand and turntable downstairs, but I still have to put my vinyl in the rack. I’ll tackle that either tonight (after sundown) or in the morning, when that floor is cooler.

*Well, most of it: I just finished the last 15-20 minutes down here.

I’d forgotten how emotional I get when watching Hamilton, including during the ending. I’m not ready to dive into 1776 yet; I think it’s time for popcorn and some light TV fare. Oooo, a new episode of In The Eye of The Storm is available on HBO…perfect! And kind of fitting, as there’s a severe thunderstorm watch in effect from now until 10pm. Though somehow I don’t think that any storm we could possibly get here would come anywhere close to the footage I’m about to see.

Ahhh, gotcha! Somehow my brain turned it into “I’ll trade you $5 for $5,” when actually it’s “spend $5 and you can really spend $10.” Never mind. :woman_facepalming:

Where do you find rolling papers big enough? :open_mouth:

Happy 4th! The Brits have gone to sleep (well, probably not boofae, I swear she’s up listening to a band until 2am every day!), we can celebrate now!

One thing I’m really enjoying about my new neighborhood - they aren’t going nuts with fireworks. A nearby house was setting some off but they weren’t bad at all and they never got high enough to see over a rooftop. Where I lived before, anything like the 4th or NYE was a 2 week affair and they were setting off the big ones that made the house shake and windows rattle until after midnight every night. So I have high hopes of being able to actually sleep tonight!

Hope everyone has fun and wakes up tomorrow with the same number of fingers and toes that they had on Friday!

Howdy Y’all! We ate, we drank, we made merry. A good time was had by all. We frolicked at the cee-mint pond and then came back into da cave to dry off, change into dry stuff, and feast. I actually was inside a while before the others cause I needed to do the baked beans and boil the corn on the cob. Now everybody is gone and we are chillaxin’ whilst the dishwasher sloshes away. Actually it does not slosh, it makes this little wistful sound that can only be heard when standin’ in front of it. Now it’s time to go get in the recliner and watch stoopid stuff for a while.

MOOOOOOM there would be a mass revolt, chaos, and carnage in the streets if I wore that bathin’ suit. Plus, there would be such a run on brain bleach!

Knotty I think I went to skool with Bertha Varnation. Last I heard from her, she got expelled from reform skool for bein’ too anti-social. doggio would love her!

Taters sounds like the great fix-up project is movin’ right along!

~dumps tea in harbor in Nuts general directon~

shoe if you really want to get in the spirit of today, you would then pour the tea down the terlet whilst thumbin’ your nose eastward.

BrightTree ICK! I wouldn’t go outside again today either. EWW!!!

Red baked braaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnssssss are a zombie’s favorite bbq side dish.

Coppertone glad you had a nummy dinner especially after you had to walk to it.

The sky has opened and the temp has dropped to 77 Ferrets from 100 earlier. Some major t-boomers rattled the windows and messed with our power a bit, but I reset the router and it’s all good. The boomers are moving away tho the deluge continues. Wonder how this will affect the fireworks in Solomons…

We’re all chilling - Otis on the floor and humans in recliners. That’s all…

I slothed the day away, watching YouTubes and drinking gin. Spot slothed under my bed. It’s down to 96 degrees outside(35.556 Centipedes). I had set my thermostat to 75, but it never got above 73 indoors. Having a Sazarac now.

[Animal House]Forget it, he’s rolling.[/Animal House]

Just do some weeding.

Mom: “Would you take out the trash?”
Me: “Sure, I’d date just about anybody with questionable morals.”

And a good early evening to all, spent most of the afternoon watching soccer (game 1 at the gym, game 2 on my sofa). Did make a quick run to the Mart of Wal, picked up a couple glass straps because if I’m going to be roller-coastering next weekend, would kind of like my glasses to stay on. Otherwise spending the rest of the day (it’s stiil 90F at 7pm here) inside with the AC and the internet. Will get a bit more to eat and drink here in a bit and that’s about as active as I’ll get.

Cookie, that’s a pretty nice valuation, hope the rest are as good.

rocky, cats iz smart except water seems to make them dumb…good luck to the fishies.

flyboy, I presume they are better than near eggs…(and yes, I know you meant farm eggs).

Herald, a quiet night for you and your felines…but that may depend if the rain shows up or not.

red, if you and sis still lived up north of me, I might have wangled an invitation, that sounds delicious.

Oopsie, I have never watched Hamilton, I have read most of the biography of him that it was based on so guess I need to see it.

52, except for the city extravaganza it was quiet last night and so far today, we’ll see what happens when it gets darker outside.

swampy, glad the frolickin’ went well.

FCM, I see the stuff up North of you has been delayed/cancelled due to the weather you are getting…wonder if DC will set off all those fireworks or not?

And nearing 7:30pm and have 7 You Tubes lines up to watch, so take care and I’ll try to get back for a late-night final.

Hey ya’ll. Quiet day here, I went across the street and admired the new heatable driveway. I have been noticed putting ice in the plant pots, when I said that the lesser goldfinches liked it, I could tell that other plants will start getting ice as well.

We were promised a storm and nothing has happened. I haz a serious disappoint about the festivities in DC being canceled. I wanted the orange one to follow up with his promise to stand out in the sun and speechify for three hours but should have known he’s TACO out.

No fireworks happening in our neck of the woods, probably because our catsitter is the youngest person in the neighborhood.

Our cherry tomatoes are going gangbusters and the romas are all staying orange. Hmpf.

People are sharing pictures of this months class that I haven’t been able to work on and the new class will come out on Friday. I’m rather grumbly about that too.
