I woke up really early this morning because I had a stomachache, and couldn’t get back to sleep. It’s happened a few times in the past little while. I think I know what the problem is and how to fix it, though.
Drae, don’t get your hopes up too much as there’s this serious issue with Doggio:
OBL was the only dog I’ve ever known who would give audible warnings .
The funniest thing is his poor little pea brain didn’t get it; he’d be lying there, toot; then lift his head & look back as if to see where the noise was coming from! :smack:
Today is HellDay[sup]TM[/sup]; wish me luck!
My sweetie should be on his way home - he was going to leave around 6:30. Overall, the weather radar looks good, but it’s a long ride and a long day - we shall see how he fares.
Higgs tends to toot when she gets up on her hind legs to be skritched. It’s as if fingernails down her spine trigger the release! She’ll sometimes to a little crop-dusting past **FCD **- it’s hilarious to hear him when the scent wafts his way!
In other news - my back yard looks like a mushroom farm. That means it’ll soon look gross and slimy as the fungi die. I’d run the mower over the whole mess, but it’s wet out, and there aren’t too many things more disgusting than trying to clear wet glops of cut grass and stuff out of a mower.
No crabbers today - big surprise. Last night, I had to scan and email the “daily log” sheets that I fill out when I see a crabber. I had 13 of them. In a month and a half, I’ve seen 13 crabbers, and 2 of them were when I was in training. This job hasn’t come close to what I’d hoped. Wonder if I’ll hear back from the drafter job. Maybe they weren’t impressed with my five-year-plan…
Not a lot planned today. I need to rework the pattern I have for the stocking cap - instead of tapering down gradually, it makes abrupt changes. It reminds me of a telescoping antenna - larger diameter at the base, stepping down in size several times till it reaches its full length. Frankly, I think it looks stupid. But I know how to make it work the way I want, so there’s that.
And today, my baby brother is 57. He’s a big-shot company president who’s celebrating his b-day by attending a board meeting in Boston. He’ll probably whoop it up this weekend. Or not. He’s practically a geezer anyway!
Winchester occasionally glares at us like that smell was our fault.
I believe we have fixed the air conditioner, but we have to wait for the sealant to dry before we can turn it back on. I have decided that I will wrap a towel around the offending area, turn it on, and check to see if the towel is wet after a few hours to a day. Because we can’t live without A/C. It was terrible in there last night.
In 24 hours, if all goes to plan, I’ll be in the recovery room after yet another spinal surgery. No dramatic pictures for this one. It’s just a quick nip and tuck of a disk in my neck to make my hand work better, and the recovery should be quick.
**FCD **just called - he got stuck in a massive traffic jam at the Ohio-Indiana border. I pulled up Google Maps and gave him a detour, and it worked - yay! He stopped for breakfast and called me. I’ll be glad to have him home.
