The Golden Globes

Guess no one is really into the GGs this year.

30 Rock is funny but I would have liked to see someone else win. I am a big fan of Entourage and Califorincation the Office, like them more than 30 Rock. Not my year for my celeb peeps to win I suppose.

(I’m actually working in a different tab – the glamorous life of a freelancer.)

Damn, was Renee Zellwegger’s dress goddawful ugly or what?

I’m into it, but I’m keeping a list and reading elsewhere too. I’ll post the complete list of winners when it’s over. Looks like that presentation order I posted earlier finally had a glitch. The Best Television Series - Musical Or Comedy came first instead instead of Best Television Series - Drama. Everything else is the same so far.

And yeah, Renee’s dress was a horrorshow.

I’m so glad Heath won. That speech by Christopher Nolan was wonderful.

I haven’t seen any of the TV nominees, not a single one. Damn, so many things look so good, especially that John Adams movie, and 30 Rock. I’ll have to start buying the DVDs.

I’ve seen all of the movie nominees except for the foreign language. I have no dog in this though so I’m happy for everybody.

That was hilarious, Tina Fey telling all the people on the internet who don’t like her to “suck it.”

What a great internet channel streaming this! It looks great, it sounds great, and the connection is kick ass (and there are 1,828,247 people watching!). I’m glad I kept looking instead of staying with that first one I found.

Scorcese introducing Spielberg. Wow. Nice.

Argh, make a liar out of me. As soon as Spielberg got up on stage the feed started freaking out. I went back to that Portuguese feed but they’re dubbing what Spielberg is saying, so either way I can’t hear his speech. Nice montage though. I’m glad I saw it. I know it’s fashionable to dislike Spielberg, but damn, he’s made or been involved with a lot of great movies.

How drunk is Dustin Hoffman?

Huh, it’s back. Now I wonder if a Spielberg hater was screwing around with it.
Danny Boyle for Best Director for Slumdog! Nice.

Spielberg, he knew he was getting the Demille award, he seemed to ramble on and on and…

Okay I’ve been wanting to see Slumdog Millionaire for awhile now, now I really need to get my ass to a theater and see it.

And yay for Colin Farrell, In Bruges was great.

OH MY GOD! Colin Farrell for In Bruge. Best Actor - Comedy!! Holy shit! He totally deserves it. This was the first HUGE surprise of the evening.
Edit to add, this was as nice a surprise as when the Golden Globe went to George Clooney for Oh Brother, Where, Art Thou?

Right, that stream began lagging for me too. Here’s another one streaming the NBC coverage: http://www.justin.tv/thor24

Oh well, for a moment there I had hopes that In Bruge would win Musical/Comedy. They’re all good movies, and I liked VCB quite a bit. So happy for Colin though!

That guy you just saw? That guy? That’s the biggest movie star in the world.

No kidding.

Edit to add, no, not Mark Whalberg.
Kate Winslet, double winner!!

Wow! That’s very impressive having Shahrukh Khan on the program. He seemed so giddy and at ease in front of Hollywood’s “beautiful people.”

Haha everyone seems to suck at presenting tonight. I think they all think they are at a show that shows clips of the stuff they are talking about. Everyone is faltering when they have to read the noms.

But man none of my favorites have won tonight really. Here’s pulling for Sean Penn…

Nice work Mickey

Damn he was good. I’m almost afraid of the acceptance speech.

Sweet win for Mickey.

Don’t think the Wrestler is playing here yet. Haven’t seen it anywhere. Saw a preview though few months back and was interested. Sure it’ll be here in a week or two.

Oh God. A middle finger got on air.
