Violence in the Middle East, near nuclear war in southern Asia, wildfires in Colorado…
With all the turmoil in the world recently, I think it’s time for a break from it all. Post any little tidbit of good news and happiness here. It can be anything from a tasty sandwich to world peace, as long as it’s good news.
My Little Leaguer pitched two shut-out innings and got 2 hits and a walk last night, as well as the game ball. (He also struck out once, but didn’t throw his bat or pout–that actually gladdens my heart more than the game ball thing.)
My T-Ball player ran the bases in order; she also hugged her friend on the other team when the friend got to first base (where my T-Ball player was posted).
Also, I had nice chats last night with my IM buddies (they know who they are). Definitely was a good thing.
I’m going to attend the wedding of one of my good friends on Saturday. I’ve known him for more tham 15 years, and it will be strange to think of him as married; I’m very happy for him and his bride, though.
I get the next two days off! My girlfriend and I are heading down to Galveston for the weekend. It’ll be nice to have some alone time with her for a few days.
I was Number 1 in sales in my office last week, so I got a promotion and prizes and a pretty good paycheck and all that.
AND even better, I met a really cool nice guy who likes me and forces me to go to the gym to get in shape and has basically given me a social life (I didn’t have one before) and really likes me. Oh, and he really likes me too.
I earned an ‘A’ in Biochemistry. I did well in Bio II and Cell Biology but that’s not important. What’s important is that I earned an ‘A’ in biochemistry.
[sub][sub][sub]Did I mention the ‘A’ in biochemistry?[/sub][/sub][/sub]
shhhhhh…I’m going to surprise my mom for her birthday…don’t tell her
I actually like my job. I realised that today. I don’t sit around dreading having to go there. That’s a good thing, compared to last summer’s job! I can imagine doing this for a living after graduation!
I had a good supper, which included perogies, which I am totally OBSESSED with. They are SO good!
And xcheopis got an “A” in biochemistry. It’s my major, so I’m happy about it too, though honestly, I should be a chemist. Not worth it to change my major, though, and I can still take all the organic classes I want, so its all good
My Boss and the Saleman finaly got more contracts!
That means more jobs, more hours, and more money!
(Boss, have I told you recently I love men who give me money?)
I made an 85 (in the top 5 of the class) on my Finance midterm last week! Not as cool as ** xcheopis’ ** A in biochemistry but I am proud. I also have the highest grade in my Business Research and Developments class.
I am going to Six Flags soon!!! I am so excited, I hear that the one here in Jersey is amazing!
I still haven’t decided on my costume, but I have a big silver ear ring and a plastic sword so maybe I’ll go as a lusty buccaneer.
There will be singing (sorry, sea shanties) and dancing (sorry, jigs and reels) and lots of drinking (I mean… well I guess I do mean drinking). Fun for all!
My little brother became a man last Saturday! And my new glasses will show up any day now…
have big plans for Saturday to g w/friends to see a merengue/house band. Then Monday I have another evening of fun with my very cute guitar teacher…(unfortunately, just a class, but I love music, and music taught by a really cute, nice, and laid-back guy is even better).
