The Happy, Happy MMP

**Drae **- did they at least give you donuts or something??

There will be cash prizes for the best in each category, I believe. And I admit I am wearing a damn tiara. Mostly because any excuse to wear my tiara out of the house is a good excuse for me.

Is there any reason you couldn’t wear your tiara every day??

It actually kinda hurts my head, so I can only wear it for an hour or two at a time. Usually while I do dishes or something.

Stuperate.

“And now, Titanic passengers, it is time for our stuperate Funny Hat contest! Ignore the iceberg and enjoy the Funny Hats!”

First real day of vacation for me. I have a driving lesson today. :frowning: I suck at driving. Same old story.

I hope we won’t have any more fricking thunderstorms today, but we probably will. ← me rolling my eyes at myself.

I finally got around to practicing my clarinet yesterday after a few days off.

There are people out there who have had no thunderstorms in more than two weeks, young lady. So you eat your thunderstorms and you like it!!

Wait. I may have gotten confused there. It’s really really hot.

That sounds a little bit unsafe. :stuck_out_tongue:

When I was young, we walked to our thunderstorms, and we liked it!

Get off my shriveled lawn!

I wish I could send thunderstorms to those who need them.

I’m sitting around in my pjs and cracking open a Dr Pepper at 9:30 AM. Damn caffeine addiction.

I’ll take a shower later today. Or maybe I can just wait for the next thunderstorm and go outside in it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d like a nice thunderstorm- we haven’t had any all year!

Make me feel guilty about being in a drought.
Fine.

I’ve been considering getting a hotel room for the night just for use of their pool, but then I’d have to bring the dog, abandon a grieving cat, and try to sleep in a place other than my own bed, which never works out as well as I’d hope. I suppose I could just check in, go swimming, and then go home for the night, but that seems kind of ridiculous.

But then I remembered that our town swimmin’-hole will do one-week memberships. Because $200 a summer for Roomie an’ me to go swimming five times seemed a little excessive last year. But fifty bucks just to get in, swim around a little, and go the hell home is a much better deal. Even if it is a pond and not a pool. I’m enough of a city girl that I hate that much nature all over me. I want chlorine, dammit.

Back from erranding and from dropping off the Sonata to get its oil changed. Higlet has the runs still - I need to do some research before deciding if we need to get her to the vet. Otherwise, I’m good till 2.

I see some stenciling in my near future.

Drae, one of my best friends calls pools “used water”. She hates them and would much rather swim in the ocean or a natural body of water.

In about 25 minutes I’ll need to hop in the shower and clean up for my errands. I had planned on being ready to go sooner, but I was just enjoying my coffee and quiet time too much.

Temps here are supposed to reach the mid 80s; so not too terribly bad. We had thunderboomers here the other night and it cooled things off considerably.

I’m pretty sure it has a lot to do with the fact that we had a community pool when I was a kid, so I spent most of my childhood swimming time in pools. Roomie grew up in a much more rural area, and prefers ponds. I just really don’t like swimming in something that is also somebody’s house. Things live in that pond.

they do more than that, Drae

exactly my point.

Given the choice, I’ll take a river or lake over a pool, assuming the river or lake isn’t just an open sewer. I’m not a fan of chemicals and miscellaneous urine…

I think I’m in LOVE!

Status update: I am scheduled to be offline/outside most of this weekend; if you haven’t heard from me by Mon/Tues, please ask TPTB to add me here as it means I MELTED*! …or melted & was warshed away in forecasted T-boomers!

  • Calm down, Flytrap, there are two medical tents to try to prevent that from happening. :stuck_out_tongue:
