I prefer swimming in natural water. I don’t know when was the last time I was in a pool.
Chlorine and me don’t get on that well- I have eczema, and chlorine irritates the hell out of it. Unfortunately, there’s I don’t knnow of any wild swimming places close- I’m near the sea, but it’s an estuary. I shall have to find a nice spot, as I love swimming.
I actually haven’t beeen swimming anywhere in a while. I don’t know where my bathing suit is, and I have a nasty infection on my leg that isn’t going away, and that would be visible if I wore a swimsuit.
ETA: I mean the infection isn’t going away, not my leg. But actually, my leg is here to stay too, come to think of it.
Eh, I can swim in either, but prefer natural bodies of water; especially the warm waters of Kauai!!
I am sitting here cussing because my husband’s company screwed up his paycheck. They didn’t give him paid leave when my MiL passed and his paycheck is tiny, tiny, tiny. It really puts a crimp in my ability to take care of financial obligations this week.
I hate you.

What’s its name… Moonlight?
I took this flying home Monday. Looks pretty invitin’ to me.
**lieu **- yeah, I suppose if you like blue tropical waters, that looks inviting enough…
I’ve finished the stencils on 7 towels. Just killing time till I have to go to my crab count. In fact, I might just go early, since I have to take some photos of the ramp. And if she shows up early, I’ll be there and ready to go.
:p;)
I waited a long time to be able to enjoy those tropical breezes and warm water. I think my first trip over there was in 2009 or 2010. And, honestly, if it weren’t for the fact that our friends have a condo there and we don’t have to pay for a hotel, we wouldn’t be able to afford it.
Stuff is expensive on an island!
Okay, so I just don’t like you a lot.
:dubious:
Well, I guess I’ll just have to be satisfied with that.
It’s so hot out my purse just literally burst into flames.
I had a checkbook do that once.
… and a cow-orker, he was telling me a story and poof pants on fire.
Howdy from da cave! Yes, da cave. Yes, I do have irk to do but it’s of the need to update online stuff type irk so I decided to just do it from home. I’m even almost done. YAY!!!
I have declared this to be a weekend of eatin’ sammiches and stuff, i.e. da bear don’t cook. Thus, all sorts of deli type sammich makin’s have been purchased.
I have a salt water cee-mint pond. No chlorine at all. I spend about sixty bucks a year on pool salt as opposed to four to six hunnert dollars a year for chemicals. In the three years since I converted to salt, I have paid for what it cost to convert. The water is ever so soft with no funky chlorine smell and does not fade bathin’ suits. I likes my salt water cee-mint pond, I does.
Any regrets w/ the salt at all? My F-I-L switched and he loves it. But when I asked our pool guy he said to stick w/ chlorine but I can’t remember why. The stone work perhaps? Do you find you track much salt into the house?
I swam in a saltwater pool a couple years ago, and I absolutely loved it. Now if I could just find one of those around here …
Is it sad that I was more interested in the engine intake then the island and water? ![]()
**Drae ** around here we have places that will rent you a room for a few hours but I’m not sure they have pools. For $10 more you can get a jacuzzi tub.
Home from house hunting.
I ended up seeing 5 instead of three because one had just come back on the market and the agent got the wrong address for another and since they were just two houses away from each other we checked out both.
The first one was so sad because the house could have been beautiful. I think the bank would never approve it because of the hole in the wall and it needs more than a few cosmetics. The kitchen was beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I loved it but the mortgage guy told me it has to be move in ready or it won’t be approved.
The second one didn’t cost enough and I loved it too, but it also needed work as in peeling (probably lead) paint and the edges of the plaster walls where they met the doorways were missing plaster. Big chucks of plaster.
The third one was he one I really wanted to see. Absolutely loved it but it also needs work. There is water damage on the ceiling and some peeling (probably lead) paint. It’s a shame because the rooms that are fixed up are beautiful.
The fourth one I hate the street it’s on, very busy and there is no front yard. When we walked in the smell was so bad I almost said forget it. Glad I went in. Once you get past the street and the smell, absolutely beautiful inside on the first floor. New bath and kitchen, nice back yard, parking out back. I’d never have to look out front. There are hardwood floors under the carpet, getting rid of the carpet would probably get rid of the smell - and this house has central AC. The second floor bath is okay but where the addition is in the back of the house the floor is a bit spongy. I’d want that checked out before I buy. I has all appliances and is move in ready once the carpet is ripped out. Also has fixed stairs to the attic.
The fifth one is a small rancher. It’s ok, no dining room, the whole house is small and the smell was enough to knock you over. It is in a quiet neighborhood, dead end street, has a driveway and a nice backyard. The kitchen and bath are both ok. No basement, no attic. It needs some cosmetics done but is basically move in ready. I didn’t see a laundry room either.
Park of the problem was it is so damn hot and 3 of the 5 houses are empty and closed up so it was really hot inside them. That doesn’t encourage much dawdling around inside.
I think I need to decide between 4 and 5.
The sad thing is my heart is really with the one I saw last week that has no off street parking. We rode by it again today and almost no place to park and we checked out the back. It would cost a small fortune to cut into the hill to make a parking pad and put in stairs up to the yard.
So I need to think about it and make a decision. I liked both 4 and 5 for different reasons.
Sitting at the ramp -she didn’t come in early… It’s hot hot HOT but there is a little breeze, so there’s a little relief. In the past, she has come in as late as 3:15. We shall see.
Meanwhile, it’s freekin’ hot!!!
Earlier this week a squirrel crossed the street in front of my car, and he was walking.
Memo to self: re: salt water cement pond: this fish stays on the bottom and is peaceful until stepped upon.
