The Heat Is On-A Start Of Summer MMP

Thank y’all.

I think I am most confused by the wide eyes.
And the meows, I can’t tell if they are happy or upset meows.

So I’ll keep petting him. I’d love to pick him up and plop him in my lap.

I did tell him that I think he is being a bit rude to us, after all we have been nothing but nice to him, and his behavior is hurting Sah-son’s feelings. I told him if he is so unhappy with us I can take him back and they can find another home for him.
He doesn’t hurt my feelings any, I figure if you’re going to let cat hurt your feelings you’re going to be hurt a lot.

It’s kind of strange for me though, because when I was a pet sitter the anti-social cats loved me. Probably because I ignored them all the time.

I am beset by tahrdness. Thus we are now retirin’ to the boudoir to watch teevee etc until sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Made chicken and quinoa with tomatoes and Hatch Chillies for dinner. Drinking a Fat Tire And Friends Fat Pale Ale. Life is good.

Pork loin and rice and gravy, sliced 'maters, and fresh from the field corn on the cob for supper, cold watermelon for “pre-dessert,” and a scoop of homemade peach ice cream for real dessert. Washed down with about a quart of iced tea. Mmmm.

I blundered into the first episode of the TV show, “Johnny Staccato” on the web. A not good enough jazz musician who works as a private detective. Three DVDs on Ebay for $20.00.

Michael Landon and Dean Stockwell when they were just old enough to drive guest starred in episodes two and three. The ever present actor Elisha Cook, from The Maltese Falcon and The Big Sleep to the Star Trek episode *Court Martial

  • in episode four.

Did You Know: TV episodes used to be thirty minutes?
:dubious:

Okay, I get it now.
The chocolate sounds good; beer would be fine if it were hot out, but it’s cool and rainy right now. (Did I mention I live in Seattle?)

Wasn’t it 22 minutes if you took out the commercials?

We shall be having Chinese food delivered by the nice folks from China Palace. Yay!

Also, DH is home from Chicago. Another yay!

Kona Dog to vet at 9am. Then we shall know more. I cleaned his ears, having noticed they were cruddy. He then raced all around the house and tried to rub them on every surface he could find. My son said, “Boy, Kona sure looks happy!” I gave Kona lots of biscuits to make up for the indignity of it all.

Yay - a Northwest buddy!

So, what say we all - Newton or Docaway? What about a type of apple? Gala? Golden Delicious? What is your favorite type of apple to have appleaday?

If the VA appraiser cooperates, this time next week, the Doors family will be celebrating the purchase of our new home with the last dinner out we will be able to afford.

The mortgage company sent the appraisal report and I was floored. The appraised value of the house is a little over $4,000 more than the sale price, and the VA may be willing to throw on some extra for a new furnace. (If that’ll fuck with things again, then forget it!)

My one hockey firend just adopted a pittie named Kona.

Yay!
: flind confetti with wild abandon :

The plan was to go to the softball game on the bike. I looked at the sky when I got home & then decided to look at radar. Red & yellow & pink & green (anyone else remember Captain Noah?) are a comin’ near this way but lookin’ like they may slide down under so I decide to wait a few mins & check again…& again…& again. By the time I realized that I’d be safe & dry & started to go I realized that I’d miss the #$%& game.
Okay, Plan B is ride down to RC with the new Virb to test it out, but then the edge of the storm is well past my house & when I finally go outside it’s now starting to spit. Never ended up doing more than that so I could have gone to either/both.

Nope, you don’t get it; you’re supposed to give us offerings (chocolate for the wimen, & beer for the guys.)
Confidential: Looks like we’re gonna need the squid & the goat for this one!
Speaking of beers, dogbutt, PM me your Untappd name.

Woot! to the gens Doors! Everything crossed!

The Boy - a mighty fine cook himself - just came in for dinner after watching a soccer match with friends. Grabbed a slice of pork loin, took a bite, and immediately laid claim to the last slice also. Wanted to know exactly how I cooked it. (Sliced about 3/4 inch medallions, rubbed with basic seasoned salt and smoked paprika plus a few drops of Chipotle Tabasco, pan-fried to medium rare. So very good and easy.)

Hogs are selling cheap locally right now, so I’ve been asked nicely to please buy another whole loin, slice, and store in the big freezer for The Boy. (I guess, since he asked politely, and loins are on sale for a buck-fifty a pound this week. And he made a batch of peach ice cream for me today!)

Speaking of beer, the local microbrewery has just released something that includes peanut butter and jelly. That sounds… ominous. I may have to go for a tasting tomorrow.

I want peach ice cream. While in GA I did partake of some Chic fil a and had a peach milkshake.

Nope, if I have any chocolate, I’m keeping it for myself. If you’re nice, I’ll let you have some beer.
I don’t think I want to know about the squid and the goat.

Aaaand it is now official that I can call him “Teach”! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

repos some of docaway’s chocolate

missred, I don’t think there are any laws over how close the pollsters can be to a building entrance but they do have to be outside the polling station, they’re not allowed to be canvassing inside. When I was a kid, there always used to be a policeman outside the polling station making sure nobody got hassled by pollsters but these days that doesn’t happen any more.

Anyway, we have voted to leave…brave new world for us now! CallMeDave has had to resign so I guess that means BoJo the Clown will be doing his best to be the next PM now.

In other news, got to work this morning to find our office has been burgled overnight. There were some teenagers lurking around outside yesterday evening so the police are fairly certain they are the culprits. Nothing much was taken, some cash, memory sticks and a bunch of audio recorders, but they’ve rifled through all the desk drawers. Fortunately they didn’t take my emergency bottle of vodka!

With a little help from my friend Mel, I got something like 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night! Not quite a full sleep, but lots better than I’ve been dealing with, so yay!! And we’ve got a front moving thru that’s supposed to take a bunch of the humidity with it, so double yay! And it’s Firday, so triple yay!!

BooFae - Glad your vodka is safe! But yeah, stoopit teenage burglars! At least they didn’t vandalize, too. Around here, kids seem to delight in trashing a place after they pick out what they want to keep. I can kinda understand stealing (you’ve got it and I want it so I’ll take it) but vandalism?? (You’ve got it and I don’t want it, but I’ll trash it anyway.)

The weekend is almost here - Happy Firday!!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear (also dry cause humidity is low) with a predicted high of 98 and sunny for the day. Shortly I shall commence mowage. Thus the reason for bein’ up already.

Rockin’ congrats! Appropriate/Inappropriate appendages crossed that all goes well.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I shall brush my teefies and shave bein’ as I need to go to the sto’ at some point after mowage and must not be seen in public unshaven.

Onward into the day!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Oh, you’ll fit right in. Welcome aboard.

So I think I sweated the worst of this whatever-it-is out overnight. My nose is still runny, but at least no constantly. I went through 2 family sized boxes of tissues yesterday.

But no matter what I do, I cannot convince Smokey that just because the Sun is peeking over the horizon and da boids is getting noisy, that does NOT mean it’s time for breakfast. (4 feckin’ 30!)

Wait a sec - I thought you had a beard… Or are you planning to shave your legs??

I’m so confused!!
