did you know that lipizaners (i know i butchered that spelling) are born solid black and then turn white as they age? pretty cool. i’d like to go see the lipizaner stalions once.

Hey, poiema, I’ve seen the Spanish Riding School Lipizzaners (on a tour of the US, at Boston Garden), as well as a North American troupe that gives performances. They’re surprisingly small horses up close, but very powerfully built.
Once in a very great while, a Lipizzaner will be born bay and remain that color, but that’s exceedingly rare. Many horses that turn gray* as they mature will always have flecks of color in their coat, but Lipizzaners turn pure white all over.
*“Gray” is the horse world’s term for a white horse that is born dark and changes color as it matures. Truly white horses that are born that way (and aren’t albinos) are quite rare.

knock knock, my moniker is pronounced poe-ee-mah. it’s greek for poem. i have it in very small tattoo on my ankle that says elohim poiema and has a triquetra, a celtic symbol for the trinity. if i use poiema as my moniker, i never forget how to sign in!!

(yes, I was really bored at the time) I knew it had “river” in the title, but wasn’t getting anything through my search at All The Lyrics. Probably because I was searching on Bon Jovi songs, and not Richie Sambora ones.

He is down to earth, a dedicated family man, and would rather share his IMMENSE baseball knowledge with young players, than take a high-paying job in the front office or as a manager. And he (and his brother Billy) are ALL about baseball! Both of them sometimes come on the local O’s broadcasts, and it’s like they are transported to another level. Their eyes just light up when talking baseball. And NOBODY (except maybe their late father Cal Sr.) knows more about the game.[/hijack]
