The hijack game. win absolutely nothing but your insanity...

Speaking of discount stores, whatever happened to Zayre’s? That place was always having a sale, whether “Back-to-School Bonanza”, “Final Clearance on all Winter Items”, or whatever seasonal theme was appropriate.

I like Target. I don’t like their advertising though.

I love the turn of the season from summer to fall! September and October are my favorite time of the year! New England foliage color ROCKS!!!

one of my cats fell out the window the other day. i shouldn’t have laughed, but i did. a lot.

We only have three seasons here. Spring hot, Summer hot, and fall/winter wet.

have you ever been to a hot spring?

Yes. It was in Wyoming. In fact, I got to hang out in the same hot springs that the organism that makes a critical enzyme for lab DNA replication comes from. Very cool. And very smelly, from all the sulfur.

But have you ever tried to fit one of those teeny-tiny springs back into a watch after you’ve opened the case and popped the stupid spring out by mistake? It takes forever to get the darned spring back in there.

I saw a guy cutting a spring with a torch. It was pretty hot.

in the uk, a torch is a flashlight. i had a hard time getting used to that.

Wow, that would give a new meaning to the old expression “carrying a torch for someone.”

The Statue of Liberty is holding a torch.

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I carried a torch for the Dallas Cowboys…

But no. They have to SCREW IT ALL UP AND LOSE, YOU PITIFUL EXCUSE FOR A F**KING TEAM!! How could you!!!

OK, I feel much better now!!

Try growing up in New England as a Red Sox fan. Now, THAT’S masochism.

i used to love the cowboys and then they fired tom landry. i rode past roger staubach’s house when i was in dallas years ago and i wanted to go knock on his door. but my friend wouldn’t stop the car for me to get out.

The Statue of Liberty, with a torch and a book, kinda reminds me of myself when I was little. Sometimes at night I’d read under my covers with a flashlight (or torch, as some call it) providing my reading light. I never used a firey torch for those purposes, as that could have been dangerous. Also, I did not have any firey torches readily available at that age.

Interestingly, I still have perfect eyesight. I’ll say it loud, I’ve got no glasses and I’m proud. And no contacts either, even though that doesn’t rhyme.
Upon preview, I should note that Cowboys fans should not be too upset, as they only got doubled up today, whereas Bears fans like me can feel disgust at the septupling they received (if that is a word). And Red Sox fans can complain about their 85-year streak without winning a series, but us Chicago folk have a longer streak - even with two teams. Why, there hasn’t even been a Chicago team in the Series since Eisenhower was president.

knock knock who’s there all that stuff your parents told you is crap! Sittng to close to the TV, “what if you made that face and it STAYED that way.” CRAP I tells ya! CRAP!

Church was fun today… talked to a bunch of my friends, and spent time with the toddlers. One of them is attached to me, but probably because of my glasses. (kids love dangly things, so I have to be careful… good thing I don’t wear earrings or anything like that) Some people said they could come to my birthday party next week… good stuff! Eric, Jon, and I had all the Richmond Crew jokes going…

I hung out at Nathan’s with Jon and Eric. Then, the four of us watched Thirteen; it was a good movie. Afterwards, we bugged Jessica at work… she was on her break, and asked if we wanted anything for free. Eric got a passion tea lemonade, but the rest of us didn’t want a thing. It was good talking to her.

Then we went for dinner at a 50s diner place called Sodas… there was some good food, and great conversation. Love hanging out with friends for sure!

We had some final “chilling time” at Nathan’s before we all go home. Tomorrow, we’ll take advantage of Chianti’s and their Monday / Tuesday $6.95 pasta special. (we’ll order things that cost $10.95 normally… and this at 9 PM)

Hanging out with friends is definitely a cool thing. (even if one of them IS my brother, one of them a former crush, and one of thema crazy nut)

Oh Jessica at work is a friend of yours
And she’d get you a drink for free
With a passion tea lemonade, you’d have it made
But there was someplace that you’d rather be…

Ah, it’s a 1950’s-style diner. Who would win a posting contest between you and Batman? Probably Batman, if he’s prepared. But he wouldn’t just register as Batman. What cool user name could he adopt?

Bruce Wayne

Last term, we had a student named Wayne in our lab. He’s really a nice guy, but he looks like Fred Flinstone. His wife looks more like Betty than Wilma though.
