The I Got Called Out During The Sermon MMP

I wouldn’t know. Webinar in ten minutes. I hate that word. Anywho, it’s supposed to last an hour. When it’s over I declare that irk is over for the week.

I can’t take credit I’m afraid;I was there yesterday, I’m back home today. I have no idea what the weather was doing most of the day yesterday either, seeing as I was inside the NEC and there’s nuclear bunkers that give you more idea about the outside world than that place. I know it was raining when I left, that’s all.

It was lovely and sunny here too today, at least I think it was, I accidently slept through most of it. I seem to have developed a worrying habit of not sleeping more than an hour or so most nights, then when I have a day where I don’t need to be up for a specific time, I don’t wake up til mid afternoon. I was thinking of going to the doctors to see if they could suggest anything, but, predictably, I didn’t get up in time.

The sun did switch for rain when I went down to my allotment to plant out some rhubarb and make a vague attempt at clearing a bit more ground. I’m way behind on clearing the plot, I need a few dry days in a row so I can have a bonfire of all the silly trees my crazy neighbour planted.

Oh well, I’m happy anyway today, I just found out I won £150 this month with my Premium Bonds. I splashed out on chips from the good chip shop in celebration

(Incidently, I think this may be the most British post I’ve made in a while…)

I officially declare the weekend! Let the festivities begin! Why, yes, I am havin’ an ice cold beerverage.

Chili dawgs for dindin. Fart fest to follow.

Yesterday, I was hanging out with some members of a theatre group in an area of the music building at the university, and one of them said, “Let’s get away from here, I farted.”

Good plan.
I have some chicken in the refrigerator, and bought some bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and some pineapple juice today. I’m going to try and come up with pineapple chicken tomorrow.

That sounds good. I’ll either brown them and mix with with stewed tomatoes and eat over rice, or I’ll bake them with tomato puree, top with mozzarella and eat over pasta.
I like quick and easy.

Please don’t say anything, Vunderboob.
bob!
Vunderbob.

Home, tahred, and ready for the weekend. I stopped at WalMart on the way home and got 10 more flour sack towels which will become 20 tea towels to be sold at the little store. Apparently my Amish towels and crab towels are very popular. So Sunday, I intend to hem up all that I’ve got, and maybe cut out another crab stencil - perhaps in size between the 2 I have. I’d like to come up with something else Amish, but besides the horse-and-buggy and the silhouettes of the man and woman, I can’t think of anything that would be recognizable as Amish.

I contacted my boss’ boss today and we’ve decided that starting the first week of March, I’ll work 3 days a week - Tues-Weds-Thurs, unless I decide to shift earlier or later in the week. This assumes there’s enough money to pay me - boss-lady said she can’t get a straight answer from anyone. But she wants me to stay and the guy I do drawings for wants me to stay, so there’s that.

Tomorrow, we’re going to walk around the motorcycle show. Afterwards, we’ll go to my mom’s for lunch and she’ll give me a long-overdue haircut. Snow is in the forecast, but supposedly less than an inch. We shall see.

**BooFae **- what’s the weather like around the British Isles in September? We’ll be there the last week of August and the first week or so of Sept. What sort of temps can we expect? Is that time of year rainy or dreary? Do you have any special connections to arrange for a pleasant visit??

Supper shall be grab whatever. I just ate a yogurt and some pretzels because I was feeling weird. I may just have a sammich. We shall see.

TGIF!!!

still blurfy, but no longer hungry as I had a late lunch of a stromboli with spinach, olives, and mushrooms tucked inside. YUM-E!

Hex signs, perhaps.

Quick and easy recipes

You don’t see hex signs around here - I think if them more as Pennsylvania Dutch.

I might try a sailboat - we are Chesapeake Bay adjacent.

Chili/cheese/slaw dawgs and oven fries have been consumed. Gaseous emissions sure to follow.

MOOOOOM how about a barn or a weather vane?

I know, I know, we all know.
Save Vunderbob.

I’m not BooFae, but any English person is fully qualified to discuss the weather; indeed, we practice constantly!

You can make no guarantees for UK weather, but you’re in with a pretty good chance of sun and minimal drearyness at that time of year- that’s the time the kids normally go back to school after the summer holidays, and it’s often nice and sunny, sometimes even hot!:cool:
By our standards anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

In celcius, you’re looking at minimum high teens if it’s a rotten summer, and maximum around 30C if it’s a ‘scorcher’ (which I think translates as about 60F to maybe 90F). If it’s the higher end, you’ll get the entertaining spectacle of us all overheating and generally failing to cope with the mild warmth.
It’s a good time to come- especially when school starts up at the start of September, and everything suddenly becomes much less busy.

**Nuts **- thanks! Good to know. We’ll be heading to Norway and Iceland after we cruise around the Isles, and I know both of those places promise to be a tad on the brisk side. It sounds like we’ll have lovely sightseeing weather (potentially) so huzzah for that!

Can you tell I’m getting excited about our trip, even this far out?

You aren’t talking to computers at work, where the power is down.

Anything.

:dubious:

Cellphones, however, work wonderfully when the power is down.

We got our fed refund today. I filed on Sunday. Today is Firday. That’s a fast refund!!!
