Ok, my day was pretty effing horrible too, and, damn, that made me laugh.
We got this storm this afternoon. OK, maybe not the same one, but same idea. All of a sudden, I looked out my office window and it was very dark out. We’ve had another couple of milder storms move through in the meantime, including one while we were out in the woods, watching fireflies. Made for a really cool light show. Lots more flickering fireflies with some background flashes of light from the storm.
So sorry about your weather, lieu and Rebo.

Thunderboomers came to visit last night just as I laid down for my ugly sleep. I was so terrified that I slept through the heaviest of the action.

lieu, I love Mediterranean style, too. When I re-do my backyard, I want to have at least a corner that tends toward the Mediterranean.
I’ve been cleaning up this morning, waiting for the repair guy to come and install the disposal. Figured it was a good opportunity to clean out the kitchen. I’m also hoping to get out into the garden a bit before it gets too hot. It’s supposed to stay in the 80’s today, so maybe it’ll be tolerable for a while.
Off to continue cleaning…

I’m not even sure what a men’s 10 1/2 translates to women’s, but it’s likely that they measure in centimeters, which is real easy (you, uh, put your foot down and measure the full length.) I’d ask to make sure or check the FAQ, since Kung Fu is Chinese and I don’t know if they use different sizes. If you mean tabi (big toe in one pocket, rest of the toes in the rest), then it’s centimeters.
Worked on sewing bloomers last night. Mom looked at my mockup and said it was too small, so when I cut the real pieces out tonight I’m adding about 2 inches. She’s going to help me sew them on Wednesday and then I’ll have bloomers! Yay!

Yeah, don’t worry about it, LiLi. My ex-SIL was pukey with one baby and not at all with the other. I have several friends who had the same experience.

It appears my last couple of weeks at work will be party weeks. Next Weds, my community of interest team is having a going-away for 4 of us - I’m the retiree, and 3 others got jobs elsewhere. That’s over 20% of the team gone. Yeah.
On Friday, there’s another couple of parties, but since I really don’t know the departees, I’m not bothering. Then on Tues the 26th, the guy who hired me is having his retirement thing, and mine will be Weds the 27th. Plus there’s an awards ceremony on Tues the 18th that I have to attend. Not that I expected to get any work done anyway…
I stopped at Food Lion on my way home and picked up a hunk of dead cow that’s going into the rotisserie for supper, along with some broccoli and salad greens. I’ll probably also cook up N.O.T.-n-onions. Simple suppers are good.

I got a raise today. I now officially make slightly more than a living wage in Hippy Hollow. I also got a The Office (US) pen from Big Boss’s office. He said I could have it because it was from the previous regime.

Supper was good. I wanted more of the roast, but I stopped before I stuffeded myself too much. It was a sirloin roast that soaked in Itralian salad dressing for a coupla hours - really yum! Plus fresh broccoli, steamed, and salad with 'maters from my garden. We opted not to have the N.O.T. - so virtuous and healthy should merit 2 ice cream sammiches for dessert! Right??
**FCD **brought home two more critters for fishland - a flame angel and an arrow crab. The flame angel is a nice splash of color, but he’s pretty small, so the big guys have been picking on him. Fish can be bullies. So much drama in 125 gallons…
