Here’s a special orchid for swampy

What is the name of the plant, Rosie?

Trillium are very cool.

Asian dumplings for breakfast.
DST did not fool the dogs or cats.

Monkey orchid, orchis simia.

El fin.

“The end” in Spanish.

:Rising above it all…choosing to ignore the bad puns…rising above it all:

I slept like crap last night. Couldn’t get to sleep so i was awake at 1AM and then I was awake again at 3.30. So I got up and watched Roseanne re-runs on TVLand and went back to bed at about 6.30. LibbyCat of course got fed before I went back to bed.

So far all we have done is sleep in til 10 then I went to get coffee. Sheets are in the washer but I think we may be in Jammie’s for the rest of the day. Which is a good thing as it is on 36 degrees outside and rainy.

I have also wished my Mammy a Happy UK Mammy’s Day.

I am with you 100%. Since I hurt my knee I am a tiptoer, head to the ground looking for things that might leap up to take me down if I’m on an unpaved/graveled trail.

Yesterday turned out better than I expected. Today is so-so. I’m going to head out for a walk in a little bit in spite of the homework and other things I should be doing. It’s just too nice outside not to.

All deheathenated and had N.O.L. All is well in swampland.

mmmmmms sorry you had such a crappie night. :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy all

I would say mawnin but even my unreset clocks indicate that it is no longer AM. When I am Emperor of the Universe (EoU) clocks will no longer change twice a year, I shall command it.

Irk has been trying to kill me. Worked almost 24 of the 48 hours of the last two days, off today then irking Mon and Tues. At least it pays $$$$$

Hugs to all that need it

There is a bar in my future but for now tis NOL time

Late

Jim

P.S. Is something fishy going on here?

I washed my bike, cleaned and lubed the chain and adjusted the rear shift cable, then I had to go out to experience my improved ride. I went out to one of the parks and saw bluebirds and mockingbirds!

Laundry is (mostly) done. Leaves out front have been raked, vacuumed, mulched, and dumped. Mulcher and mower are put away. House has been vacuumed. Supper is coking (a brisket) and in a little while, I’ll go get the clothes in off the line.

It’s nice and quiet here - all critters are sleeping. And I think all clocks have been reset, so yay!

Not sure if I’d want to eat a coked up brisket. Just sayin’… :stuck_out_tongue:

[QUOTE=wikipedia]
It is noted for its pungent odor, which is similar to that of feces

heh!

**swampy **- you can be replaced by an annoying mosquito buzzing in my ear all night. :stuck_out_tongue: Thisis what I’m doing to my brisket. It’s smelling good. Gotta decide what sides will be served with it.

I just finished cleaning out the pellet stove - it’s a pain because the ash is very fine and it gets into all the little impossible-to-reach corners of the stove. Big cleaning will be at the end of fireplace season - that should be fun.

I forgot one other chore I did - I sorted and stored a buttload of yarn - all the super-soft yarn that I’m using for hats and scarves. I didn’t realize I had so many colors, altho some were donated, so it’s not like I picked them out and forgot what I bought. Anyway, it’s all neat and tidy and sorted in a couple of drawers.

Guess it’s time to fold the unders and bring in the clothes from outside…

So I drank off a leftover glass of wine from last night. Just sitting on the counter half full. I hated to waste it, top shelf grocery store, saved $8 a bottle.

I haven’t done this in a while, I usually finish the bottle! :stuck_out_tongue:

happy Sunday

It’s a glorious 59 degrees outside, windows are open to let in the fresh air.
Sah-pup is mad at me, he got a bath today. Bathing him is easy, it’s getting him into the tub without losing any fingers or blood that is the hard part. I excuse his bad behavior on account of him being old, cranky and almost blind. I don’t know why he put up such a fight, once he’s in the tub he loves the bath part.

I’m almost over my ick, my ears are alternating between aching and itching. I think eating something spicy hot will help so maybe some Chinese food later today.

I believe orchis simia is a wild flower, much like the North American orchid Lady’s Tresses, which do not smell at all, that I have noticed.

Yes, I can be a geek about many things.
Better than a punster.

Do you cook potatoes, onions and carrots in the oven with it?

NOL has been eaten, chicken fried steak sammich with bacon and cheese. Ya know heart healthy and all.

Stinky orchids and coked up brisket. This place has definitely taken a turn for the weirder than usual today.

Speakin’ of brisket, we had a quick meetin’ after deheathenization today to discuss next Sattidy’s big St. Pat’s celebration. We bein’ those among us who do all the cookin’ and preppin’ etc. Grocery lists were made and tasks assigned. Gonna be a bizzy Firday afternoon/evenin’ and Sattidy mornn’/afternoon of cookin’ and so forth. It’s fun though. I always have a better time gettin’ it all ready than I do at the actual party. Go figure. So, corned beef 'n cabbage, our famous “It’s Irish Because We Say So” stew, soda bread, desserts, green beer and other assorted beverages are now all planned. Go Us!

ETA: Jim it’s been forever since I’ve been to a bar for cold cheap beer. This is pretty much due to the fact that cold cheap beer exists here at da cave.
