Who’s up tomorrow?
The next person who posts!
I didn’t do that today. In fact, I didn’t do it in the oven, but I wish I had. I cooked it low and slow on the stovetop and while it was really tasty, the meat was dry. I think the marinade would be really good with a hunk of chuck roast, so I’ll try that some time soon. We had N.O.T. and sugar snap peas on the side, and I scooped out as many of the onions as I could get. Very yum recipe!
I shall soon assume the knit position, then attempt to go to bed early. **FCD **has a follow-up interview tomorrow, so I’m going to work alone. He said he’d take the recycling, so that’s one less chore for me. Yay!
It’s been a good weekend. Not ready for it to end, but oh well…
And if no one posts before 6:30-ish, I’ll throw something together in the morning.
Well dang! I was hopin’ we would escape the horror this year but alas, not. I got a call to inform me that the person who always brings those Og awful shamrock cookies has volunteered to bring 'em. She gets ‘em from a local bakery (see Og awful above) and I know she pays a biiiiiiiiiiiiig price for ‘em. They are shamrock shaped cookies with this crunchy green sugar icin’. ICK!!! Bless her heart though. She really believes they get eaten up. Truth be known, they end up gettin’ thrown away in a few days because nobody will eat the horrible things.
Seriously. They are so bad we don’t even take 'em to one of the local missions. The things are doorstops. You could lay a foundation with 'em!
Build something with 'em and give it to her as a present - maybe she’ll get the hint
Oh my…
I am guessing it would be a difficult conversation to have with the person, but I would really rather be told those cookies are horrible than to continue to pay a large price for something no one likes. Admittedly, it would be different if they were homemade, but if said person is buying them from the bakery, well, it’s not like you’re insulting her baking skills.
It’s been a somewhat lazy day today. I’ve done some laundry and little piddly things, but that’s about it. I DID NOT open my work laptop today. Screw it.
My son is out at a park walking one of the dogs. In a bit, he’ll come back and grab the other dog. Some day, their leash manners will be good enough that one person can walk both of them at the same time. For now, if only person is walking the dogs, only one dog at a time can go.
While yesterday was absolutely lovely, today has been gray and wet. Yesterday, Mt. Rainier was absolutely stunning looking. It’s days like yesterday that really make me appreciate where I live.
The Cute One can be Evile.
You’re only just realizing this?
HEE Y’all! Truth be told the woman is loaded and actually believes the cookies are good. There will be five or six dozen of the things and maybe a few get eaten. They don’t all get put out at once so it sorta kinda looks like they get eaten, I guess. On the up side, a lady who makes really nummy cakes will bring a sheet cake with white icin’ and little shamrocks all over it that will get eaten up.
Stuff like this is just so weird. I like Rosie’s idea.
The Tahj Mahal? A Pyramid? The Washington monument?
Glue and an electric sander.
Just a door stop would probably get the message across.
Just for future reference, hula hooping and stomach ache is a somewhat unpleasant combination.
By the way, can any of the awesome-cook-type Mumpers suggest what to do with a homegrown Marina di Chioggia squash? I could do with using it soon (almost time to plant this years, when it warms up a bit!), but I have really no clue what to do with it. I never even tried pumpkin/squish until my mid twenties, and I still never really know what to do with them… I’m a vegematarian btw, so no bacon recipes.
It’s been staring at me accusingly for months now, good job they store well.
You never know…maybe this year, someone at the Sham Rock Cookie Bakery will screw up and make tasty cookies?
Night all!
My parents were very fond of Dough Dollies, which were little bread-dough figures which were either christmas tree ornaments or refrigerator magnets. What they were really for, from my parents’ cats point of view, was snacks.
Perhaps you could drill some holes in the cookies and make ornaments out of them? Or wind chimes?
Huh, it’s almost Monday - and it is Monday in the UK, and definitely in Israel - Hi SpecialOne! I think BooFae is in Paris, so hi to her also! I’ve only been out of the USA once, many many years ago (I think I was 7 or 8), when we traveled from MI into Canada and saw Niagara Falls before heading down the east coast. I wish I could visit Europe at least, but I don’t foresee that happening. Oh well!
It’s been a good weekend. We have actually had some rain (and even a bit of snow!) in Albuquerque. In fact, we had some thunder during the storms on Friday. That was some serious thunder, too, so strong you could practically feel it. I made a big ole pot of chili and boy did it taste good! I’m finally acquiring a taste for green chile too, believe it or not.
Ah well Monday will start another week. Thank goodness spring is nearly here.
New MMP yet?
