Time to brave the weather and head home…
no weather here, yet
Its raining cold and windy here. I am off to go play in traffic.
True story. A month or two before Dave passed away they issued a requirement that all employees had to wear scrubs where he worked. I made his for him in his favorite color, purple. And, yes, Dave was a big guy, so some of his fellow employees would sing the Barney song when he wore those.
You’re assuming that Sticky Buns will ever do that again. And to that I would say:
HELL NO!!!
That was seriously without a doubt the worst sub job ever. During the first two classes I had three people in tears and many, many angry students. The gym is so large and students never listen to subs anyways, so I literally was yelling all day long.
A good time was not had by all.
I skidded out twice badly and once almost on the way into irk this morning. So I did some data entry to cheer myself up. Did not help, have been irritable all day. I must needs find some crochet hooks to jab in people’s eyes.
Man, if there was ever a day to Irish up the coffee…but it’s cold, windy, and blowing snow outside and I ain’t going out again, even to the ABC store. But the temptation, she is there.
Yikes Spaz! Glad you made it to irk and back home safe. Let this be a lesson to you. Always keep an emergency supply of booze.
Gee StickyBuns I thought PE teachers were supposed to inspire tears and anger.
Howdy from da cave! Dindin tonight is soup 'n sammich Agape at the church house. We only have to show up and eat as I did sammich duty last week.
That is all.
Cool and windy here.
: emails Spaz some Bushmills :
I reorganized the kitchen rack, and the closet. I’m not going near roomie’s half of the apartment, the disorder makes my OCD twitch.
Swampy, one of my PE teachers was Coach Payne.
Home. It’s still raining, and from the looks of the weather radar, I doubt that we’ll get any snow. Ice on the streets overnight is a possibility, but tomorrow’s supposed to hit 46°, so even that won’t last.
Supper tonight is grab whatever. We had a fairly big lunch and neither of us is very hunger. I’m thinking a bowl of cereal might be it.
This brings back memories, in 8th grade the two pre-algebra teachers were Mrs. Payne and Mrs. Harsch (pronounced harsh). It was fun to mess with the seventh grade kids and watch them freak out
I’m really getting fat, I need to stop eating so much, baby is no excuse
Sure it is - you’ll be getting enough exercise once s/he arrives
That’s a lot of help, Oh Cute One.
For some reason, this makes me think of one my previous cat, Felix, pulled. I came home from work, and his notion of a greeting was to barf.
In other non-news, I’m just getting up, and tomorrow’s a busy day. Trying to be all organized and efficient and get stuff done today like laundry, prepping food for tomorrow, etc. At least we’ve had rain, so my allergies are calming down and I feel nearly human, aside from still being a bit tired (thank my hormones for that one. Would be so nice to be able to flip a switch somewhere in my body and proceed straight to menopause).
It’s what I do.
It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.
Home from Agape soup 'n sammich over to the church house. Tonight’s soup offerin’s were lentil, broccoli cheese, chikin noodle and black bean. Y’all will be proud to know I sampled all four and pronounced them good. Sammiches were chikin sallit, pimento cheese (third week in a row, we are definitely southerners!) and egg sallit. All were sampled and pronounced good as well. All in all, a good time was had by all. It all culminated in a very beautiful Eucharist. The really cool part of it all is how all us Whiskypalians and Lutherans have come together to make this a special Lenten worship experience.
Ok, enough maudlin stuff.
Oh and the wine was good. Did I mention the drinkin’ of good wine is a part of this?
nettie yay for sinuses feelin’ better. In a few weeks oak and pee-kahn pollen shall beset us here in the deep south. Da bear shall be miserable. It helps not that I attend church in the middle of a pee-kahn grove. I have about four weeks of sneezin’ and snifflin’ through Holy Eucharist ahead of me. Rah.
On that note, I shall now betake myself to bed and watch some teevee until sleepy time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Howdy,
I have spent most of the day reading Sampiro’s thread from 2005/06 that starts with the tale of his Mother, Sister and a hurricane and continues with tales of ghosts, crazy relations and bizarre tales of rural southern life. This is must read stuff, it is so funny ingestion of anything but air is contraindicated. As usual I am on teh stupit BB TABLET and my linky thingy no worky but Skald has a thread in this forum that has a link just a few entries down. Warning this is a time suck, I think I spent five hours reading it today and it is more addictive than crack.
That’s all I have for now
Cheers
Jim
Night swampy!
My oh my, it didn’t snow much today, but some trees fell on cars.
They kept me busy today.
OK, Winter. you have had your last hurrah, made the roads crappy, (PB made it home safe from work) knocked out the power, etc. You CAN GO THE &*%$ AWAY NOW, thanks!
In other news, Dinner was a Chef’s Salad & we gotta go to the Sto.
Happy Wednesday!
