The improvised MMP

Waiting for my sweetie to get home from working the game. He called me an hour ago and said he was 15 miles from the MA line, which means about 20 minutes from home. I just called him again. Apparently 84 was closed and he was sent, in the production truck, through a whole lot of CT back roads until he could pick up 84 again. Poor bastard. Still has to drive from here to RI to drop off the truck and pick up the car. He left for work at noon. This was supposed to be an easy day with nice OT.

By the time he gets back with the car, it’ll be after 4am. Luckily we’re on the way so he can stop in and get some coffee and a smooch.

Damn Huskies didn’t even have the decency to win. At least he got to see someone get arrested and apparently the UConn cheerleader uniforms are the ugliest ones he’s ever seen (and in his line of work, he sees a lot of them).

Trying to concentrate on drugs but it’s just not gripping me tonight.

Been up since 3:30 AM sipping coffee and I actually worked for 1/2 hour of OT already this morning. It’s a wonderfully cool 49 F out there this morning with a projected high of 68F.

Off to run my errands soon and as I successfully procrastinated on [del]cleaning[/del] sandblasting the bathroom yesterday, that awaits after I finish off my Mickey D’s drive-thru breakfast. Then more OT work until sometime late this afternoon when I head off to the girlfriend’s place. We’re planning on having pizza tonight because both of our pizza tanks are empty.

Happy weekend all!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 65 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85. Oh and we have an allergy alert. Duh. It’s ragweed time.

Today’s plan calls for yahd irk over at OYKW’s place this mornin’. I shall awaken him shortly. We’re doin’ brekkie at MickeyD’s (just like Brick! :D) and headin’ over to trim up hedges, clean up the gazillion pecan tree branches (no big limbs thank Og!), plus mow and edge da yahd. This is really only a couple hours work but I want to do it early. It’s dry out and cool, so a good time to get goin’ as soon as it’s daylight enough. Believe it or not he was even amenable to gettin’ started early.

BBBobbio ummm… sorry for the dissapointin’ lack of boobage on your part. :stuck_out_tongue: Hooters does have decent wings however.

Ok, I should awaken da squeeze and find some more caffiene.

Later Y’all!

ETA: Happy Sattidy!

 You’re thinking of Alien; I was giving him advice for his son. Ain’t been to a Hooters since April.

Usually when I go, it’s 'cuz VWife wants to. Add that to all the other bass-ackwards stuff around here, like her absolute control of the remote, I’m the football and NASCAR widow, I do the domestic stuff, et al.

I have the Weird Earl’s pick of the day. w00t!

ETA: Maybe Alien’s Hooters is hiring the handicapped…

Sex, then sleep on wet hair makes for some tussled curls.

I mean, so I’ve heard.

Think insect strafing run.

Wife got the 50 wing deal for the leftovers. More eye rolling fodder for son.

If you ever see me in the drive-thru at Mickey D’s, swampy, give me a honk and I’ll spot you an egg McMuffin. I’m the guy with a beard and a Pirates cap in the red 2-door Cavalier.

Off to toil in the bathroom now. Urk!!!

Bri2k

Hee, everyone’s making me giggle (::looks at Soapy and Bobbio:: )

Sorry about your sweetie’s reroute, shortdrum.

I’m getting close to being awake. Made some bacon fried rice (little bit of butter, real bacon crumbles, rice, eggs, salt & pepper) with the leftover rice from the other night.

Should decide what to do with my Saturday. Need to clean out the kitchen, I think.

Hugs.

GT

Blurf.

Afternoon all. Wasn’t going to be posting today, ‘cos should be heading out to camp in a field with a bunch o’ daft jugglers, but feelin’ all queasy and don’t know if I should go today. Housemate is also feelin’ ill, so might have nasty bug- or might just be fact that the eejit noisy teenagers upstairs haven’t let me have a proper night’s sleep for weeks… I’ll not breathe too close to you though, just in case

Should go find food, but have almost nothin’ edible in the house 'cos I was supposed to be away all this week. Bah. How much of a meal can I make just from cheese?

Morning. It’s 56 and rainy here. I’m not at work.:dubious: If it stops raining, I’ll go and organize the storage unit.

I used to know what boobies looked like, now I have a mammary problem.

From yesterday: Congrats, congo!!!

Feel better, nut! I was a bit queasy last night, now that I think of it. I’m better today.

I just finished breakfast, as a matter of fact. We had sausage patties, ham and cheese omelettes, and canteloupe. I make a 4 egg omelette and split it three ways.

Lucy has been bugging me all morning. She knows it’s Saturday - time for the dog park. I hear it’s ok, but I haven’t been over there in person yet. We’ll get going in a little while.

There was a second fire on the north side of the same park two days ago. (Did I post about that?) An ex-firefighter has been arrested for arson! I think he should be strung up by his balls…

Laundry and dishes are calling. I have my fingers stuck in my ears and I’m going, “La-la-la I can’t hear you!” Makes it hard to type…

The weather is slightly cooler, and wonder of wonders - we have at least a 20% chance of rain for the next 7 days! Hallelujah! That high pressure dome is moving away a bit. Only a high of 92° is predicted today. Can I get an amen?

Have a great day, Mumpers!

Here, up, alive, and busy so far. Altho we did sleep in till almost 9, sorta. I got up to let Scruffy out at 6, then crawled back under the covers. Poor **FCD **had tummy issues thru the night, so he was pretty wasted too. But the extra sleep helped.

So far this morning, we’ve breakfasted (I had pizza - breakfast of champions, or in this case breakfast of champignons, since it was a mushroom pizza. ) We’ve emptied and removed the sump from under the aquarium so **FCD **can install the new sterilizer. Once we put it all back together, we’ll take out a little more water, then add the stuff I mixed up yesterday.

We’ve also got to take our mower to Amish Dave to get fixed. With leaf-mulching time just around the corner, we need it in prime condition. And since I just mowed, we can get along for a week or so without it.

Other than that, I think I’ll stay pretty much in the knit position. I should finish my bro’s afghan easily this weekend. I’ll post pics - it’s really nice-looking. I’m sure he’ll like it, including my color choices. It’s autumn shades with dark brown as the accent color.

I can’t remember the last time I was in Hooters, but I’m not that big a fan of wings. I think the nearest one is in Waldorf, so it’s not like it’s convenient. Plus my sweetie likes PapaJohn’s Honey Chipotle wings…

That’s all for now. Happy Saturday!

The bathroom has been [del]cleaned[/del] sandblasted within an inch of its life and no sign of the plumber or my new toilet yet. Depending on which of the two times my landlord’s son gave me, the plumber is either and hour and 15 minutes late or just 45 minutes late. Not sure which. I’m beginning to doubt this will happen today. It may be possible it was all just a clever ruse to get me to [del]clean[/del] sandblast the bathroom.

It actually looks ok. Just as long as you don’t pull back the shower curtain and look at the tub. Yikes!

Oh, sorry, my darling Brick. I am the anti-Martha Stewart. I make Oscar Madison look like Felix Unger

Howdy Y’all! Back from the yahd cleanup at OYKW’s. We done good! His yahd looks a whole lot better.

BBBobbio and Alien y’all know how it is. All you straight guys look alike. :stuck_out_tongue:

Brick what if the plumber needs to use the shower while he’s there! You should go clean up the tub.

Ok, I need me some N.O.L. and I foresee nappypoo time for the both of us in the not too distant future.

Later Y’all!

Well no new toilet, but the landlord’s son replaced the flap inside the tank which is what I told him it needed. He was happy he saved $200, but that would’ve been paid for from my recent rent increase. Oh well, the place is still cheap and an extra $20/month won’t kill my budget.

To clean out the tub would probably require a flame-thrower or possibly napalm, swampy. Besides, plumbers should shower at home!

Sorry if I stole your alias, [del]Oscar[/del] rosie. It makes me feel better there’s other “cleaning-averse” mumpers.

Now off to nap-land…

I’ve made two farmers’ market runs (pears, winter squash, onions, sweet potatoes; also at the big market, I got a tea strainer (one that I can put in either my teapot or cup and steep the tea in) and a non-metal spreader (for butters, frosting, etc.) and coffee.

Am considering lunch before cleaning out the fridge and making cornbread with fresh corn, roasted poblano chiles and cheese. Probably as muffins. Need to consider what else is in the fridge that needs to be in the next week’s meals.

Need to do some stuff in the garden, too (surprise!).

Back later.

Hugs all.

I was up at 6:15, showered and left at 8:00 for a haircut. It was dry when I left for the salon. When I left the salon, it was raining. :frowning:

After the salon, I ran by Safeway, and then went to the butcher shop. I picked up steaks for today’s festivities and a smoked femur bone that I had sawn in half for the dogs. They are in heaven right now, happily gnawing away. They love those things.

I don’t think we’ll be playing any badminton this afternoon at our friend’s house. Oh well; we’ll still have a really good time.

The aquarium is up and running, now that we fixed 2 plumbing leaks - that was fun… I’ve also vacuumed the living room and dining room, then blew the dust out of the filter - it’s nice having a hose from the compressor available in the garage.

Daughter dropped by to borrow my Office 2010 disk - she’s got a day of grading papers and writing lesson plans.

I’m going to make my sweetie a sammich, then assume the knit position. It’s very overcast and cool - maybe 61°. It’d be nice if there was some sun, but I’m glad for the cool.

It’s 12:45 pm and already I’ve tanked up the car, stopped at the bank to change my PIN because the pump at the gas station put my PIN on the screen for the world to see, played with the new sat nav (I like the British term better than GPS), went to Trader Joe’s, went back to the department store to insist they give me the sale price on the shoes I bought last night, and cleaned the bathroom. Off to the battery recycle place, then the barn where I will feed the horses and ride my horse (whose name is Bob but his nickname is WB so he shall be known as WB from hereon).

And I wonder why I’m always tired…

Din-din is crab-stuffed sole from Trader Joe’s, asparagus (yes, it makes your wee-wee smell funny) and anything else I can rustle up. I have a Otis Spunkmyer choco chip cookie for my nighty-time snack.
