The improvised MMP

I’m the one in the encounter suit. BBBobbio has the turnout gear on.

Math class was fun today—Teachers other section got the test as a take home, we got to do it as a hive mind. Since there is only six of us it was not too out of control, but the teacher was almost in tears watching us hash out the questions. I think we learned more that way, and as a added bonus, we all got 100’s

Dammit, Gotti, your inept mechanics made a guest appearance in my dreams last night and tried to drop a truck on my head. I hate that when that happens.

Not only is our spice cabinet dis-organized, I’ve been looking for my jar of curry powder for 2 weeks. This is serious!

I have never been to a Hooters. Have I missed anything? I don’t like buffalo wings anyway. (I am inordinately fond of boobies, however.) I do, however, have a great recipe for African Chicken Wings. I may have to dig it out when we get home. We’re at the Public Market again today trying to sell soap.

I had more to say, but I forgot it. Probably just as well.

Later.

You all sound very organised with spices- we just have a random collection of jars with hand-scrawled labels organised by the technique of ‘what can be stuffed in a corner’.

At least stayin’ in today meant I checked my tomatoes in the garden, so got to rescue a few green ‘uns before the blight took over totally (it wasn’t there 2 days ago, I swear!). Now I should be making chutney, but still feelin’ a tad blurgh.

By the way, I always get the most fantastic mental image when people talk about ‘buffalo wings’, I mean, I’m pretty sure I know what they are, but…

I’m not a fan of buffalo wings and I’ve never been to a Hooters. Besides, if I were into boobs, I’ve got my own.

Dishwasher is loaded and running and it’s still raining. I’m looking forward to seeing my daughter tomorrow. I haven’t seen her in a couple of weeks and I miss her.

I haven’t heard from my son today. Knowing him, he’s still sleeping off last night. Yesterday, he told my husband he was going to a hot tub party. I don’t know if he did or not, but there you have it.

The dogs are still happily gnawing on their bones.

I actually was cold enough to shut all the downstairs windows that were open. Usually, they’re open all the time we’re home.

What a beautiful day!

Up, made brekkie which was scrambled eggs with some ham and a slice of pepper jack cheese on a toasted sandwich thin with coffee lots of coffee, fed LibbyCat, cleaned the kitchen, been to Wallyworld, skyped with parents and ate lunch. Now I need to make a quick run to the local grocery store to get a couple of things that Wallyworld did not have such as mushrooms and bagged salad then I will build shelves for the garage. I did a huuuuuuuge grocery shop so that mr ems doesn’t need to worry about anything other then things like milk and fresh veggies while I am in capacitated for a while after my surgery this week.

Not sure what to do for supper tonight…maybes crustless quiche? or risotto? Both of which mr ems doesn’t like so I get to eat like a girl until he gets home tomorrow

I have never beet to a Hooters either…I don’t like wings and I have my own boobies so seems little point :stuck_out_tongue:

I know where mine is(between the cumin and the garlic)!:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m making Asian chicken noodle soup for lunch. I more organized my desk and make a few MP3 player playlists.

Well, that was embarrassingly easy. We went to drop off the mower with Amish Dave. Told him what the problem was. He looked at it, fiddled a few seconds, and fixed it - the throttle cable had come detached from the throttle, but where it was located, **FCD **wasn’t able to bend down and see it. No matter - it’s fixed. We gave him $20, loaded it back up, and that was that. Better than having to wait 6 weeks, for sure.

We will be taking the generator there - we doubt we’ll need it in the next 6 weeks.

Still grey and cool, and it was drizzling a wee bit. I won’t be making dinner tonight - my poor sweetie still has an ick tummy.

I did not build shelves. I took nap and I am still tired. I will do it tomorrow instead

I’s (actually we’s) stuffded! We had an early dindin of fried chikin, rice ‘n gravy, peas/butterbeans with okra, steamed squish and onions, bizkits and lemon ice box pie courtesy of Mrs. Edwards. MMMMMMMM… OYKW cleaned up the kitchen while I took some food over to a friend who recently had a hip replacement. Said replacement popped out of place and he had to go to the emergency room to get it reset. He’s doin’ ok he says. Anywho, I figured he could use a good meal. The pee-can trees around his apartment complex are full! I foresee some pee-can harvestin’ in about a month.

mmmmmms sometimes nappage is the most important thing one can do.

Later Y’all!

It’s a beautiful day here, too! It’s been raining off and on since noon! Overcast and 80’s. The rain dance finally worked! It’s not a thunderboomer, just a light shower, but it is so welcome.

The dogs had a good time at the dog park. It’s intact. I saw what I think might have been a man-made firebreak, on the opposite side of the road. The grass was all gone and black, but the trees were still standing.

We’re going out to dinner tonight. Dad is buying. We’re gonna eat the good Mexican food! It’s called Sylvia’s Enchiladas. The only problem with it is my stoopit husband sings Sylvia’s Mother every time we go there. Repeatedly. In his terrible off-key voice. And only the first line! Over and over!!! Aaagghhh!!! :ahem: Excuse me.

I just finished making 9.5 pints of spiced, plum jam. I can’t wait for it to cool enough to try. Probably not until tomorrow.:frowning:
A friend has an italian plum tree that went completely nuts this year. I’ll probably make at meast one more batch. Hubby has promised it to every one we know.
I hope there’s enough left for us to have a jar. He doesn’t always think ahead.

When did this happen? I was talking with my colleague today and she was heading up to Boston Wed night to get her daughter. She was on 84E a few cars behind a car transporter (one of those double decker things moving new cars) when the transporter rammed into an overpass! She said the top was ripped off all the cars; it was like they exploded- glass and metal and debris flying everywhere, across both direction of 84. She was able to veer around it onto the grass, got past the truck and onto the road and kept going. She was thinking that 84 could be closed both ways they way all that shrapnel flew.

Wonder if it was the same accident, though the timing seems off.

So my sweetie finally got home around 2:15 and then called the Penske 24-Hr service. They sent a diagnostic guy to our house and it took him all of 5 minutes to determine that the production truck has some pretty big problems and needs to be towed to get fixed. His employers are a bit pissed since it just came back from a PM service call a week ago. It had to be brought to the station first so all the equipment could be offloaded first. So, we finally got into bed at 3:30 and the poor guy passed out immediately. I didn’t.
blurf
I’ve been attempting to cook healthy and somewhat balanced dinners for the last 2 weeks.

Tonight I was feeling lazy and made generic boxed mac and cheese. My stomach couldn’t be unhappier if I had a stomach flu.

Tomorrow is open house at UConn! I’m excited. My sweetie is going to take me for my first ever UConn ice cream. He’s had it a few times, when he was working sporting events on campus. He said it’s the best ice cream he’s had. I’m going to be very sad if I don’t work out the transportation issues in time and end up at a different school but I’ll be a responsible adult and not throw a temper tantrum. Until the final decision is made, I’ll try to be optimistic.

Wow! I’d have been terrified!

It was early Saturday morning so unless some major damage was done and the whole thing was closed, I doubt it’s related. He took 84 to Rentschler Field so he probably would have noticed if it was closed.

Well, 84 has taken it’s hits then!

Went out for Mexican with Roomie. She went out, and I’m watching football and drinking Spaten Oktoberfest. Life is good.

The extended closure is more likely because Wednesday’s accident caused dangerous damage to the overpass, and “they” started on the lengthy repair right away.

Obigitory dunken prost. Go Canes(Miami and Carolina)!

My hubby is suggesting that we need more data to see if this phenomena recurs.

What we do for science.

Results of any given experiment are only valid if they can be repeated . . .
