Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 58 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 84 and sunny for the day. Nice day to spend the mornin’ doin’ yahd irk. Also, nice day for the trek up to Ye Olde Home Towne this afternoon. Once I get there, the rest of the day will involve cookage. OK, cookage supervised by my mother. Tomorrow is homecomin’ at the church she has been attendin’ and per tradition everybody brings food. Thus she has procured various comestibles. She has agreed to allow sis and I to do the cookin’ since mom is havin’ trouble bein’ on her feet for any length of time these days. Rest assured, however, we will be told to do every step even though sis and I are both quite capable of cookin’ vast quantities of tasty edibles.
OK that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I should make myself presentable enough to look good whilst doin’ yahd irk over to the church house.
I guess I drank more water than usual yesterday - I woke multiple times during the night due to bladder distress. I finally gave up just before 7. Now Higgs has been fed, the kittehs have had their morning treats, and I have a little time to chill before starting my crazy day.
We’ve got 60% chance of rain today - it’s 60%-ing right now. But we are supposed to see sun tomorrow. Theoretically. We shall see. My plans for the day mostly involve finishing all my glazing so I can fire the kiln overnight. We’ve also got to run to Amish Dave’s to get our mower back. And maybe more - who knows?
Thank you for the explanation, peaches. And, I might add, it is one of the foods of the gods when done well. I tend to do it when camping.
**doggio[/B, your video showed a lot of rental trucks. I wonder if [del]clueless[/del] inexperienced drivers had a little bit to do with it.
Today’s only missions are to find an outdoor table for the patio, mounting a couple of hooks in the laundry room and addressing/mailing a couple of birthday cards (yes, I am THAT auntie! ).
I got a text last night from “Sissi” with the Florida Democratic Party, urging me to vote Hillary via absentee ballot.
OK, first of all, I haven’t lived in FL for over 12 years. Secondly, I never registered with any political party - I’ve always registered non-affiliated. Third, the phone number that was texted was NEVER my number in Florida, so I have no idea how it got tied to me in FL. Finally, it cost me 20¢ to receive the damned text, since I’m on a pay-as-you-go plan. Stoopit Florida.
Howdy Y’all! A tahrd and sore bear reportin’ in. I just talked with the folks in Ye Olde Home Towne and told ‘em to look for me late this afternoon/early evenin’. I need some rest time after this mornin’. WHEW! I did a serious Joan Crawford on some shrubbery (I was told to cut it waaaaaaaay down so I did), trimmed a bunch of hedges, and trimmed palm trees out by the church sign. The palm trees were a large amount of overgrown and fronds were actually in front of part of the sign, plus there was a buncha dead fronds as palm trees are prone to that. Plus I hauled four truckloads of limbs, trimmin’s etc back to the “burn pile.” Now I’m all showered and in need of some lie down time before I make the ride up the road.
I do have to say however, the landscapin’ in the church yahd looks fantastic. Lots of folks out there workin’ hard to trim trees, shrubbery, spread pine straw etc.
Taking a break after applying underglaze to the 5 penguin spoon rests. **FCD **is napping. I’l have a bit more studio time later. For now, I need some chillage.
I am a terrible person. I watched that. And laughed.
Today 3 of the 4 of us are sick. DH says it shall be watching movie day. Huzzah.
The weather is 59 degrees Amurkin with wind and rain in the forecast, varying from 20% to 90% chance of precipitation. I think this is cheating. Pick a number.
I have the feeling, from what I saw, that it was a bridge with a slight curve to the pass through it. Most of the damage was to the passenger side of the trailer like the driver was crowding the right.
Funny you should mention that; we made some pumpkin spice pudding for later.
I’ve gotten a good bit done today. Tomorrow, I have 5 pieces to finish decorating, plus I have to put clear glaze on the underglazed pieces. Then I’ll load them all into the kiln and cook 'em up overnight.
Well, it was another soccer day. U12 team played at 0830, so I had to go over to the other park where the team pictures were to pick them up at 0730, then drive over to the field we were playing at. In the end it was worth it, we won 8-2 (I’m beginning to think we’re pretty good). Took a 2-hour break and then refereed two U10 games. At least the temperatures were in the 70’s instead of the 90’s. Let Logan’s Roadhouse make me a meatloaf dinner, and am now fighting off the drowsies.
Awoke to the silence of no rain. Dare I hope that the weather guessers are correct and we’ll dry out for a while?
Apart from finishing with my pottery, I’ve got to help **FCD **hook the trailer up to the truck - he’s going to pick up our mower tomorrow. And we’re going to hack the downed tree into movable hunks so he can drive thru the side gate of the yard to bring the mower back. Neither of those chores will take very long. And tomorrow, I’ll be going into work late because I need to stop and get blood drawn, and that office doesn’t open till 7:30.
