I’ve just about finished weeding the first part of the hill out front. And I transplanted 4 or 5 day lilies - I lost count - plus a couple of black-eyed susans. And a neighbor who lives at the end of the cul-de-sac stopped to chat. I think she wants to hang out. Nice lady.
I just wiped down the grubby, exposed skin and I’ve got me a big glass of lemonade. Once I’m rested and cooled down, I’ll dump all the weedage that’s in the wagon and go back to fill it up again. There’s a chance of rain this afternoon or early this evening, which is great. Otherwise, I’ll have to drag the sprinkler down to help the transplants settle in.
Since you were already prepared to put something down today I suggest you still do such; I nominate flytrap to take Mickey’s place & put us out of our misery.
All in favor say, “Aye”.
Remember how we talked about winning the MMP lottery & buying the house for sale across the street from & making it a mumper compound?
Our dreams have come true, even more spectacularly than if we all lived together in said mumper compound.
I’m done - at least with the yard work. I figure I put at least 2 hours in on the hill and I hauled 2 wagon loads of debris into the woods (it’s nice having a big yard with lots of places to dump debris out of sight. I also painted our name and number on it, since the stick-on letters were peeling off.
And I took the old lawn mower and parked it on the corner with a sign that says “FREE” - hoping it’ll disappear this afternoon.
Now I need a shower. A soak in a hot tub would be nice - wish I had one. But a shower will suffice.
We had a nice, soaking thunderboomer roll thru. With luck, it helped the transplants settle in. Supposedly we won’t have any more rain till maybe late Monday. I just hope it’s not rainy on Weds - that’s when the gutter-cleaners are going to come.
**FCD **has quit painting for the day. Chillage shall ensue.
Howdy Y’all! We did the yahd thang in large and in charge Parrot, went to visit the folks in the home, had N.O.L., and ran a couple errands since we were in town. When we got back to da cave da bear achieved nappage cause I was tahrd!
I took some frozen burgers outta da freezer to grill for dindin but I don’t know if’n that will happen. We’re both still full from N.O.L.
Refereed two youth soccer games today. They are getting ready for the AYSo Section 5 Games in a couple of weeks so they held a tournament for the local squads.
Did an Assistant referee on an U12 game, gave myself an A-, I got all the calls right but trailed to play some (I’m 6’2" and 275; keeping up with 11-12 year old boys on 40-50 yard sprints is not easy).
Did a Center on a boys U10, about a B+, missed a couple of calls but all in all did a good job managing the game (the coach that lost 9-0 may have a different opinion).
I was 76F for the first game (0800) and 89F for the second (1330). I think an afternoon bath may be in order (since I am in odor…)
I went through a bag of stuff I brought from my mother’s. So much old stuff in there, I even found response cards and envelopes from my wedding.
Now I’m all sneezy and my throat itches.
sari this might be the time to suggest to your mother she would be so much more comfortable at your sister’s home.
We did burgers. Four were grilled and we et two so we shall have burgers for N.O.L. on Moanday. Tomorrow is brunch Sunday over to the church house. Thus I made a cake plus a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. The cake is a mandarin orange sheet cake.
The lawnmower is gone. Don’t know who took it, don’t care. I hope it works out for them.
We’ve had some rain on and off, one really big shower, and a couple of random sprinkles. Tomorrow should be rain-free, and if I can move, I’ll finish weeding the hill. We’ll see how it goes.
