Howdy Y’all! I spent almost four hours mowin’ over to the church house today, includin’ almost an hour’s worth of push mowin’ around the Memorial Garden and such. You haven’t lived until you mow around and between a bunch of columbarium, Anywho it got done, I got back to da cave, showered, had a couple of beerverages and have ingested majik intartoobz pizza and sallit, so all is well.
MOOOOOOM I’d be pissed as well. Perhaps a come to Jesus is in order?
Dots cute kitteh! My mom had a kinda feral cat named Tiger. Tiger would cozy up to mom and my youngest niece from time to time, but not anyone else. She hung around the barn most of the time. Mom was able to catch her to get her spayed when she was a kitten (she just kinda wandered up and stayed), so yay for that. Once in a great while when I was up for a visit and would sit out under the carport in the swing Tiger would jump up in the swing and meow at me. Then she would settle down as far away from me as she could get and still be in the swing. She liked me to swing and would curl up and just lie there for a while. Then, as suddenly as she appeared, she would jump down and bolt back to the barn. I took the fact that she would jump up in the swing with me there as a high compliment.
Yah, I had the wrong kind of crown too. Maybe we need clues each time or . Could be I just need more .
I have yet to see FCM take a day off. Puts me to shame, that’s for sure. Kinda like Swampbear, always mowing or ushing or cooking real meals. McD’s cooked me dinner a few minutes ago.
My kitties have been talking to your kitties. I finally gave up and took all the framed family photos off my entertainment center. Now I have to remember what my daughter looked like on her wedding day or when my baby boy first climbed into a Life Flight medevc helicopter with his stethoscope around his neck. The kitties don’t even have the decency to look chagrined, they want me to put their obstacle course back up. Upstart little beasts.
Boo, who vaguely remembers how exciting it was when Friday night finally arrived, football games, mixers, movies, dates, dances. Now I can’t wait to pull out my robe and slippers. I used to be an interesting person.
just got a text that due to ‘poor air quality’ they’re handing out KN-95 masks at city hall.
I wonder if any constitutional scholars are gonna refuse to wear them because of their ‘freedoms’?
I couldn’t stand sitting around any more and went out and poop-scooped the yard. I wanted to mow, but the air is too yucky.
Wifey texted me and had me go get a couple masks. The nice lady there gave ma a whole box of 20. She had a whole case of boxes by the door. When I came back the dogs wanted to know why I didn’t take them with.
I love this little town.
I have to go to the dentist on the 21st. They think I have 5 cavities.
My first wife had a cat that used to like to jump up on the entertainment center and push the buttons on the VCR.
Boo, you’re still inneresting, just in different ways.
Went out to get the mail, my first outing in three days. Cough, cough. There was a dog with her owner in the little dog park here. Too smoky for puppies! I feel so bad for the wild critters who have to be out in that stuff all day.
It’s Friday! for my whole life, this has been the greatest news. It is Friday means that the weekend has started and I have a couple of days off all to myself for my enjoyment.
Today I realized that this actually my last “weekend.” Quitting time next Friday I am retired. After that all days are “days off” so the weekend no longer matters. I no longer have to spend the week anticipating the weekend. It is a strange adjustment.
Just wow susan, I hope that your air becomes clearer soon.
Irked, grocery shopped and took Nelson to the dog park. He got to play one on one for ~45 minutes with Junior, the beagle puppy. Shortly before we left, several other little guys came in, including a 12 week old chiwennie named Jack. Jack held his own with the other dogs, so I think he has potential to be one of the Low Rider Crew there.
Evening all. Soccer has been practiced and after 4 straight days I feel like a Norse God (Thor all over). And tomorrow’s schedule is: 0830–referee 10U game; 0945–Coach 10U game; 1200 noon–referee 12U game; 1430–coach 12U game. 1600–drop dead. Of course, this being N. Ali-bama in September, there’s about a 50% chance of T-boomers cancelling the whole thing…so we’ll see. Will be in bed before 11pm I guarantee.
Having to work out the substitution plans; AYSO wants all the kids to play as much as possible, but I have 11 boys for a game that is 7 v 7 and 13 girls for a 9 v 9 game. So if everyone is there, some kids play 2 quarters and some play 3. And while doing this, I still have to try an put a pretty good team out there. And I guarantee that someone will be missing that I didn’t expect to be missing so the plan will be junk by the end of the first quarter…such is life as a soccer coach…
It’s really good. (Thanks tro Ivorybill for treating me to lunch at Herbsaint so many years ago, and to Herbsaint for sharing the recipe for their dressing.) I ran out of hot horseradish, so I had to use ‘cream style’. This batch of dressing could use more horseradish. Still good, though.
Mind sharing the title? I just moved to Mich. so it’d be nice to read something with local flavor, and I like animals and stuff so anything with a game warden should be familiar grounds.
That looks like the name of a flower, so I googled it and had a brief WTF moment before I remembered all your churchification.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 77 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 92 and mostly cloudy (partly N.O.S.?) for the day. It could rain. Or not. Again TWPTB are all willy-nilly. Tomorrow is supposed to be stormy all day. We shall see. No big plans for the day at all. OK, I do need to go to the sto’ for a couple of items of which we are in need. OYKW forgot to get Half ‘n Half and we are almost out. Mornin’ caffeine without Half 'n Half is unthinkable! Burgers 'n fixin’s with fries for sup.
Boo my life is not even anywhere as near as innerestin’ as you might think. I spend whole days in total sloth mode.
Hippie after you retire, your weekend starts at Midnight Sunday and ends at Midnight Sattidy. 'Tis wonderful!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,
Morning all. Up at 7am, about 50% dressed and wondering what I will forget to take with me to soccer today. Skies are clear for now, we’ll see if that lasts until the afternoon.
shoe, had the same thought as you did, did the same goggle and…well, ignorance fought.
Nettie, be careful now. And sounds like you should have named the new bird Smoky instead of Misty (kidding, it’s a great name).
All ya’ll take care and I’ll report back later today (if I survive)…
It rained all day yesterday and rain is predicted all day today. I’m one of the weirdos who doesn’t like sun so I’m fine with it. I will have a riding lesson today, then go to the sto. I’m visiting my sister tomorrow and she asked if I would stop at the Mart of the Wall to see if they have hand soap refills. Soft soap, milk and honey. She is specific about her soap.
Driving eval at 8 today! It’s 8:03 and I would like to speak to the manager.
Jk, jk, I’m not that guy. I am sitting in my driveway waiting, though, craning my neck any time I hear a car. The reason I’m doing this professionally is because I live off a super super busy road, so “any time I hear a car” is… pretty much constantly.
I’m a hot mess. Only slept a couple hours. Glasses are ordered, but haven’t arrived, so I’m wearing the broken ones repaired with tape. I’m all nerves. Where are they? This could change my life. I’ll call at 8:15 to make sure they’re not lost (an actual very real possibility, not just being passive-aggressive). I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but if I can make this easier…
And there’s a mental image of MetalMouse in a t-shirt, tighty-whities, and socks.
We breakfasted at Cracker Barrel, then went to Lowe’s for the doors and molding - to the tune of almost $300!!! Oh, and some primer for the front doors - that’s my project. Hoping if I prime them, the painter will slap a coat on the inside when he does the rest of the painting.
Daughter was more civilized when she came yesterday to claim her spawn and load up the cars. SIL was whining about 2 jobs when he dropped off the truck last night - like he’s the only one in the world to ever work 2 jobs. Even knowing FCD has been mostly working 7 days a week for months…
In a little bit, I’m going to head to Joann’s to find some fabric for the dining chair seats. I’ve also gotten 4 replies from my Craigslist ad to get rid of our hutch - we’ll see if anyone shows up for it.
I need some decorating advice - even non-gay folks may opine! Here’s what my living room window looks like now:
I know the valence is too short, so hush. What I’m trying to decide - should I just go with a (new) valence or do a similar valence/drape arrangement with a proper valence length? I don’t want to leave the window nekkid - there are 2 honeycomb blinds installed at the top and I want them hidden when not in use. I also hate when fabric is just looped around the curtain rod, so I won’t do that. So, input??
My plans today include cutting a bunch of carpet, both upstairs and down. I’d also like to get the front door primed today so it’ll have plenty of time to dry before the painter comes. I also need groceries and dog food - my trek to Joann’s will include stops at WalMart and Aldi.
