The last MMP of 2018

Morning all. Have a car appointment at 7:45am so had to get up early. After car gets worked on, will stop at Wal-Mart to price glasses and perhaps dine out for lunch.

Also got up to be the first on page three.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s still dark outside, but it is supposed to be partly cloudy all day with a high of 45.
I didn’t want to get up yet, I was up until midnight ordering groceries. It should not take that long. Their site is always slow, but last night it was horrible.

I was angry about my critters fighting too Butters.
I can’t always blame Ripple for attacking the cat though, sometimes Adam instigates it.
If Ripple didn’t play so rough they would probably get along a lot better.

Congrats Spidey!

I made some deviled eggs yesterday, so that will be breakfast today. I won’t need to cook today since we both have leftovers from yesterday. Which is a good thing, since there is very little left to cook.
However, there are plenty of other things to do around here to keep me busy today.

Y’know, that’s one of those weird little cultural differences I really notice on this board; one of my local car places opens at 8, the rest don’t open til 8:30 or 9. The concept of an appointment anywhere before 8am is just really odd to me. Almost nothing that isn’t 24hr or a specific convenience place is open at that time here.

Anyway, I should stop messing about on t’internet and do a bit more skool irk. I have some colouring in to do! (Yep, really!)

Afternoon, mumpers! I’ve bit a bit MiA recently, mainly because of my mum being in the horse-pistol over the holiday with a mix of bronchitis and pneumonia. Not good when you’re in your 80s, already have a history of lung problems and a fairly recent COPD diagnosis. Luckily she is back at home now and recovering well although it’s tough to stop her trying to do too much at once.

She was supposed to go to my brother’s for a few days which would have given me a nice little break, but of course that never happened, and he decided that because he’d got a bit of manflu, he couldn’t possibly get anywhere near her. He might be coming over to see her on Saturday but it depends if he’s recovered enough. Well, he’d recovered enough to go to Bath for the weekend singing with his choir, so if he’s a no-show at mum’s on Saturday, he’ll be getting the sharp end of my pointy stick.

Baker, hope your mum is recovering well from her surgery - went through that with mum a couple of years ago and wouldn’t like to do it again. Her friend (aged 97) did the same thing last year, must be something to do with old folks and winter  All the best for her recovery!

I am at irk, and it is irksome. Largely because I Don Twanna!

May you stumble through life as a blind horse in a ditch at midnight.

It appears that ordinary chewing gum helps soothe a cough… so far… we shall see…

May the fleas of a thousand camels nest in his armpits and may a crazed weightlifter clean and jerk his sister.

May a crazy holy man set fire to your nose hair and may your daughter be featured in the NFL Films’ Sack of the Week.

I should do some more cleaning and organizing. Roomie and I brought some of our old stuff to the secondhand store yesterday, which helps.

In an attempt to have a less-sore stomach, I’ve been trying to find foods that agree more with me. I tried vegan/gluten-free bread yesterday. I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying it!

Howdy Y’all! I completed candle duty and errandin’. Now laundry is underway. Matter of fact, just folded and put away undies. Towels up next. I am the adultiest of adults today!

… except for those of us adults who are hard at work! :stuck_out_tongue: OK, it’s lunch time, so I’m not working at the moment, but I will be again shortly.

Go me!!

Blurfage. Same Shit different day Juggling time between my office and the front office. One more day after today. I think I can…I think I can… Note to self-take this week off next year.
I am aggravated and grumpy. I am seriously considering quitting this job which would be stupid but I don’t feel I can do five more years.

Irk expected abnormally high volume today (college students getting back to campus and ordering porn and stuff they didn’t want delivered at home with Gramma’s Christmas check) so they asked the people from our shift to volunteer to come in early and help out. They wanted 50-75 of us and they got 11. I was not among them. One of the bosses who isn’t a total idiot said something to the other TPTBs “After the way we screwed them Tuesday I’m surprised we got that many”. It probably won’t help; the main idiot in charge is actually that dumb.

Hang in there, Butters; or if you do feel you need to leave for your sanity’s sake, have a plan in place.

Ruble, I alway’s thought that was one of Carson’s funniest skits and always looked forward to the nights he did Carnac.

Howdy boofae!! Hope your Mum and brother are on the mend, flu is no fun at any time. [

Nut, I can remember visiting London on vacation and being around Trafalgar Square at 7:30am (I was an early riser) and nothing but nothing was going on. The Brits do like their schedules…

Sari, sounds like you could get to the sotre and do the shopping as fast as it takes to order on-line.

Busy morning, made it down to the Service center at the dealer, just me an 10-15 other people who had been given the same time, but they got me squared away. Also made a couple of ‘software’ updates that had been on a recall list, so all in all it took about 2 hours.

Then went to Wal-Mart optical and ordered new glasses; the frames I got from the optometrist was what the insurance paid for and are, to put it nicely, ‘el cheapos’. So picked out a nice set, ordered lenses based on my prescription, and pick them up next Firday.

So after blowing through about $400 in plastic, I spent $20 cash and ate at the local family restaurant and conspicuously consumed. Am now letting my innards settle down.

Still need to set up soccer for the little ones (4-7 year olds) for Saturday. We have a plan for the next 5 weeks, so once I get the info out hopefully things will run themselves (HA!).

I’m tired.
Finished up laundry, a half dozen trips up and down the stairs, moved the furniture so I could straighten the living room rug. I don’t know why it shifts, but it does and after awhile it gets on my nerves.
I’m glad all we got is junk mail today. Ripple ran off with it and shredded it. Probably frustrated because the furniture was blocking the hall and he couldn’t get to it.
Adam has a friend I think. A cat that looks like a smaller version of him. My son saw him out back the other day. I saw him out laying on the railing today. He looks friendly, but as soon as he saw Ripple he took off. If he had stayed where he was Ripple would have never seen him, or her.

So I have been moving stuff around all day. Since the fridge and freezer are practically empty I cleaned them on the inside. Did a good vacuuming while the furniture was moved off the rug.

MetalMouse, you are probably right, but I hate shopping with a passion. I probably hate grocery shopping the least of all, but I still hate it. I think it’s time for my son to start ordering the groceries. I always have a list and we pretty much get the same stuff every time. Well, I do look to see what is on sale, that determines what I’ll eat in the coming weeks. He gets the same thing every time.

Glad to see you back Boo Fae, I was wondering where you were.

I’ve had a bit of a sore throat and extra aches and pains for the last several days. I am getting tired of it!

Supper was chickie nuggies and green beans-portabellos-onions all cooked up with oyster sauce and a splash of soy sauce. It was yum!

I’m avoiding Roxy - I don’t want to infect her. I’m not as snuffly now as I was earlier, but it’s not worth taking a chance. I’ll have a snort of nyquil when I go to bed.

Laundry got finished and sup got well, supped. OYKW said his first day back at irk after two weeks was pretty good. He finally has office staff who know how to do stuff and has enough visitin’ nurses on duty to handle the caseload. Next week he gets to do home monitorin’ visits and will be ridin’ around a lot. I remember doin’ such stuff and hated it, but 'twas part of the deal.

{{{Birdnapper}}} feel better soonest!

Welcome back boo fae!

All of you [del]sickos[/del] sickies feel better and don’t breathe whilst you’re posting.

It was back to irk today. I look for an early day tomorrow. Tonight, it’s working on a studio project and sketching the craft for the heathen children this month.

I managed to get a start on the monthly A/P when the afternoon girl got there at 1500. I just have to get through tomorrow and then weekend. Hubby is hitting the road probably Sat morning if he can tidy up a few loose ends. I am looking forward to a quiet few days I hope.

Hope all that are not feeling good get to feeling better soonest. Knock wood I have been healthy for a while and I probably just jinxed it.

Night all.

Always something.
First the dehumidifier, the fridge is making an awful racket again, all three of my can openers stopped working (two battery operated, one manual) and now there is somethign wrong with Adam’s tail. I don’t know if it’s broken or just injured, he can lift the base up but the end hangs down.
He’s due for his shots anyway, and Ripple needs more flea treatment and heart worm pills.
He doesn’t seem like he is unhappy or in pain, he’s eating and drinking, acting normal, other than his tail is hanging down. I haven’t tried to feel it yet, he is avoiding me, and hanging around my son. He doesn’t seem to mind if my son runs his hand down it. He’s been being a bit snotty with me lately.
I just don’t need to be spending any money right now.
