The Lost & Found MMP

What? Swampy’s gay?!?

Rosie, dear, please define the -SCOK portion for us non-Mensa members.

Had a lovely 4th. Went to Local Best Friend’s for lunch and to hang out a bit, came home to take naps, then went back for fireworks. The website said they were supposed to start at 10, but apparently they really start at dusk, which is exactly when we arrived. They were really fun - they do a full 1/2 hour and after the first few, they all look like they must be the finale.

Tomorrow it’s back to work…and back to a normal commute. There was a strike Monday, Tuesday and today, but they re-voted and are going back on the job in the morning. Yay! (Not having buses running is VERY annoying. And I have options. I felt awful for the people who didn’t have ways to get where they needed to go. LBF had someone show up at her work yesterday who had walked for 4 hours to get the services she needed.

Off to sleep, I hope. There’s a little bit of a storm out there… we’ve had quite enough of those for one year already, thanks.

Hugs all.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ cause I fell asleep at seven thirty last night and slept until I woke up at a quarter of five to go pee and now can’t go back to sleep. YAWN Ok, not yawny. "Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 94 and accordin’ to the weather PTB a fifty percent chance of rain this afternoon. Maybe I’ll mow this mornin’. Or not. I’m whimsical that way.

BBBobbio I believe SCOK means sump’n along the lines of “spitting coffee on keyboard” even though it could mean cola as well I guess. Really any beverage that starts with a “c” when it comes down to it.

No fireworks were seen yestiddy. Indeed, no fireworks were even heard. Imagine that!

Ok, reckon I’ll get some more caffiene and go surf around a bit since goin’ back to sleep is not an option.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Laundry afterwards.

it has nothing to do with Mensa. I thought I’d defined this before.

I was treated to 3 separate fireworks displays. The official one, by the town, which can be seen through the trees from my den window; and two groups of teens endangering the neighborhood - one at the end of my cul-de-sac, and one the next street over, in direct line with my bedroom window. I predict the two teen groups will be at it again tonight and possibly in to the weekend

I am at irk, not quite as irked as usual today though! My ear is feeling better now that I’ve taken a load of horsepills so that’s a good thing. Holiday plans are continuing apace now, got to get some things booked and then I can forget about the whole thing until September comes around.

Looks like I may well be hiring a car and driving from San Jose to Yosemite with an overnight stay there. Anything I should know, apart from the fact you silly folks do it all on the wrong side of the road?

If you can hit your keyboard with liquid from the ground, you must be able to do one hell of a spew.
:stuck_out_tongue:
ETA: It’s death to CableCo Day. Happy happy joy joy!

Damn right; happiest most pleasant guy I’ve ever me.

Wait – ya’ll mean that “same sex” thing. Never mind.

Swampy’s gay and I’m the one who always celebrates the 4th with show tunes. (1776) Go figure.

A hand grenade?
You got a f–king hand grenade in one hand and a beer in the other???

I never have any fun!

Mawnin all

Had a great fourth, 15lb brisket, brats, all the sides and beerverages

awesome

Gotta do some irk, irked

No fireworks were seen or heard at the cave? Maybe I’ll send our dog to Georgia for the Fourth next year. She was entirely unimpressed with our two doors down neighbors’ antics, despite a double dose of tranquilizing.

Blurf.

Had the 'rents over for the 4th. We ended up not going to see fireworks. I thought they were at the harbor. My mom thought we’d be able to see them from my place - despite them shooting off something like FIVE MILES away. I’m on a hill, but not THAT high. Apparently they were assuming we could go up to the park on top of the hill, where you can see to the next city. Noooo… all the parks close at dusk.

So, no fireworks.

gotti the fact that no fireworks were seen or heard at da cave is very abnormal. I’m still surprised by the fact. Maybe everybody decided to go watch instead of shoot off their own. With my luck, they’re savin’ up for a big all weekend long throw down.

I mowed da yahd. Go Me.

Au contraire, mon frére. TCM aired it at 5pm. I sang along and quoted along with the whole movie. Then I watched sparkly things.

So, yep it’s Thursday and I skimmed and am now leaping in to this week’s MMP.

:dubious:

Monday and Tuesday I was getting slammed at work because our busy time is getting in gear and I have the rest of this week off. Wednesday I was watching drunks blow shit up. CatWife and I were alcohol free yesterday, just because.

We hung out with the neighbors for food and fun until at some point we realized that hordes of small children were making us crazy so we went in. Didn’t even walk the three blocks to watch the local fireworks. She got up for work this morning without bothering Cuervo and I, who both slept until (hold on, here it comes… ) 11 O’something AM.

Just watched the rerun of my friend’s niece qualifying for London in some swimming event.

Today’s plan involves doing some light house/yard work, running to the library, grab some vittles for dinner, go to the gym then to the local Pubbery for Pubby things.

Best of luck to your friend’s niece. I don’t usually watch the swimming events - I prefer gymnastics - but I’ll watch this year and cheer her on - what’s her name?

Answering in PM - her aunt is a FB friend, so kinda watching the privacy thing.

People around here were all “Oh, the bugs will be bad this summer” after our oddly mild winter. Of course, the way they say it is “buhhggs.”

Guess they may be right as according to the pest control guy, the heat is driving critters like Japanese roaches inside. I don’t care if they’re unrelated to the German roaches typical to bad housekeeping, and we’ve only had one so far. They’re bugs! Bugs! OG SMASH BUGS!
I’m still not used to having a pest control guy, but the service is being paid for by the property owner. It’s the first place I’ve lived at where anyone thought pest control was needed. I keep a clean house and the last time I had problems with unwanted visitors was about 20 years ago when neighbors tore down a small barn and all of their displaced rodents went looking for new homes. Came home that day to find the remains of the barn stacked up at the street, and then woke up to hear something gnawing its way in.

gotti all roaches must die regardless of nationality. ICK!!!

I took myself a little nappy poo cause I was tahrd. I had a really weird dream. In my dream we had a pool at irk that went all the way around the buildin’. MOOOOOOM and FCD showed up and we all got in the pool to play Marco Polo. Then, MOOOOOOM and FCD disappeared and somebody told me they went around to the back of the buildin’ and were gettin’ frisky in the pool back there. Then I woke up. That was more than I needed to know.
