I know that Brits like to call their contiguous groups of TV show episodes “series” rather than “seasons” like us Merkins do, so I’m accommodating that.
*Luther *is currently airing on BBCAmerica, and I’ve been DVRing, but before I start in on it, I wanted to check to see if it’s the first series or the second. I’ve heard very good things about the show, and I want to start from the beginning.
Oh, and I should add: the reason I’m not trying harder to look this up for myself is that I don’t want to run into plot summaries that might spoil stories for me. I’d really like to come to Luther as fresh as possible, so please: no spoilers.
This was a fairly decent series. What really pisses me off is that we missed the second episode of this season and Comcast somehow missed putting it up on demand. So all of Luther’s interactions with some of the people in eps 3 & 4 make no sense.
The second series will be released on DVD on Tuesday, so you could buy or rent the disc to catch up with the second episode. Also, the episodes are available individually on Amazon on demand. As for Comcast On Demand, they don’t seem to have many of the BBC America programs available that way.
I’m also irritated by the lack of season 2 episode 2 on Comcast On Demand. This must be some sort of oversight because that episode is available in HD.
On Demand is the only way I can watch this show since I don’t get BBCA otherwise.
You know the marathon is this coming Sunday right? Maybe you didn’t misread this and you’re going to be away from your DVR for three days, but I’m mentioning it just in case.
If there is a series 3, I hope it’s a bit longer than four episodes. I read that they shorted series 2 because Idris Elba was busy with other projects.
