The Maple Donut. It is my opinion that there is no better donut in the world.

I am damn near swooning over a maple donut this morning. Food of the gods.

Maple glaze, right?

That’s my go-to donut order. I only have them 2-3 times a year, but you’re right that they’re the best.

I always get a maple bar, because there’s more maple donut goodness. It’s been my favorite since I was a kid.

With or without bacon?

Don’t be vulgar.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is, of course, wrong

The best donut in existence is the apple cider donut.

I have to concur. The poor maple doughnut is always the last lonely survivor left in the box at work. Sometimes lingering, shunned and ignored, into the next day. I sure don’t want it.

That means WITH, right?

Sure, and while you’re at it put a Pepe the Frog and a poop emoji on there, too.

No bacon and yes, the maple bar because there is more room for the glaze. :still licking fingers:

Yeast or cake?

Ehh.

Maple donuts are wonderful, but any donut that’s not filled shouldn’t even bother.

Bavarian cream is my first choice; then lemon jelly, followed by raspberry jam (WITH the seeds).

ETA: if you fill it with bacon, you still have room for the maple glaze.

Had a bizarre one the other day. Someone brought them to work.

Chocolate frosting that had a crumbled up Butter Finger bar sprinkled into it. It was wonderful.

I can’t resist the maple bar.

Yeah, reverse the order of your filled guys, and you have my doughnut medalists. I’ll leave the maple ones to the folks that crave such things.

This is 100% correct. I am a hardcore maple maniac, but cake doughnuts are superior to raised, and that maple glaze isn’t generally made with real maple anyway.

I wish I had a million maple donuts so I could give them all away. They make me retch.

[raises hand] I’ll take one!

Went for the longest bike ride I’d ever done, ended up in a small town I’d never been in. Exhausted, I thought “Hey, now I’ve gotta ride home. I know, I’ll stop in that mom’n’pop grocery store and get a treat!”

And there it was: a bakery case full of maple bacon long johns…
…not sure anything’s ever tasted so good.

Chocolate glazed donut first. Maple bar second. (But that’s a rarity around here.)

I’ve got a place here that does maple frosted apple fritters. Gotta say, they’re kinda yummy.
