& she doesn’t appreciate Swampy
(I sense dissension amongst the Mumpers.)
As for me, it’s snowing quitehard here, on the way to 4-8" (That’s what she said. Seriously, it was a female meteorologist on the radio).
In-person interview was changed to a phone-terview because of a snow storm. Tomorrow we’s all irking from home due to this storm. Today was first day of the new job & already I’m getting a bad rep as ♫ dun, dun, dun ♪ “The one who brings snow”
It’s good that I don’t need to go in b/c I’m about to start working on (celebratory) hangover!
Spending a relaxing day in Petoskey, MI. Nephew and I stayed at the hotel all day and vegged, because we’ve both been under the weather. Spent all of last night coughing, so I chose napping and surfing and watching stuff online (thank Og for free WiFi!).
Ordered pizza (we’ve ordered from the same place four times during our stay; they are EXCELLENT) for supper a bit ago.
DramaQueenCuz had a meltdown this morning and forced her van to return to Chicago today (well, really, they allowed themselves to be worn down). The rest of us proceeded as planned and will be returning tomorrow. It’s refreshing to note that some people do not change.
I’ve made an executive decision - I’m not going in today. The snow is not a biggie, but with temps in the 20s, I don’t think I want to drive to the boonies on lightly-traveled roads. I have nothing to do anyway - the 2 drawings assigned to me have no dimensions on them and I wasn’t able to find either part in the cabinet in the next bldg over, so I can’t do them. So I’ve sent my boss an email, submitted my time card, and shortly, I’ll be going back to bed.
SNOW DAY!!! I’ve got some errands to run, and they can wait till later, even tomorrow. Meanwhile, I just refilled the pellet stove, and my warm bed beckons. Happy Firday, indeed!!
It’s a windy cold snow covered 21 degrees with a projected high of 22.
Times like this make me so glad I no longer deliver newspapers for a living.
I don’t need to go out today and I’m sure I won’t.
Sah-dog took one look at the yard and said he wasn’t going out either. He will later, whether he wants to or not. Sah-son will shovel him a little path so he doesn’t freeze his paw pads off.
Outside of that I am up too early and it’s going to be a boring day.
Well, Higgs has been fed and I let her out again - here’s hoping she pooped this time. I’ve checked Facebook, so the important stuff for this morning is done. I’m thinking my bed is probably still warm, but in the interest of science, I need to verify that. And so I shall. I imagine I’ll be back to post some more later.
Mooooooooom gets to play hooky, but I have to take my danged gall bladder to see the gastric quack at 0800 for a get acquainted visit. I wanna stay in bed!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a cold, clear and windy 29 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 45 for the day. Over the next few days we’ll get lows into the teens. BRRRRRR!!! No snow though. The signs are doin’ their job.
Ok, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Sigh At least 'tis Firday.
We have no snow, it’s been very wet over here but now it’s sunny. I have changed the bedding this morning and loaded that into the washing machine, it will get washed when the stuff in the bathroom is dry and I’ve got somewhere to hang the sheets.
Today is technically my last day of holiday (since weekends don’t count) as I am back at work on Monday, but not in my previous job. This time I’m starting a 4-6 week assignment in the undergrad office in the law school at the uni. Should be interesting, it’s a big school and they have about 400 students per year which is very different to the previous school that had about 50 students per year.
So the bedding has been changed and I think the next job will be to clean the kitchen as it’s not been done properly for a while. The sink and drainer need a proper clean rather than what my mother calls “a lick and a promise” which is all it got for the last couple of weeks.
In other news, I have given my mogs a bit of extra fuss this morning. My friend had to call the vet out this morning and had her elderly cat put to sleep. He was nearly 20 and in poor health with a lot of kidney problems, she said he’d been increasingly unhappy for the past few days and was getting very unsteady on his legs so after a long night of weighing it all up, she finally decided to get the vet out today. Misty had a long and happy life though, he won’t have had any regrets.
