I’m talking about the TV show and the subplot in the new season dealing with Rigsby and Van Pelt.
At the end of last season, there was this whole “secret romance” subplot. At the end of the season, Rigsby offered to transfer out of the unit or whatever so that he and Van Pelt could keep seeing each other. She told him no, and so they broke up.
This season starts again, and it’s like that whole thing didn’t happen - the new boss lady finding out and yelling at their boss, the secret being out, the offer to leave.
First, they’re still apparently sneaking around. Then they announce to the office that they’re seeing each other. Now the boss put them on notice so they could argue over who would have to be the one to move out. It’s like the writers totally forgot they just did this plot line. WTF? No reference made to Rigsby’s offer to leave last season, the same tension over who would go and who would stay, the same stupid confrontation where Rigsby makes some stupid remark that comes off as sexism.
Egads, somebody make the writers watch the end of last season so they get their heads out of their asses.
