the middle of winter mmp

Evening all. The wall is repaired, but the guys tearing out the floor found another possible termite spot (again, looks inactive) and I’m having the Cook’s Pest Control folks come out tomorrow to look at it. Small area, think I’ll get the rest of the stuff completed and then get it fixed (hey, it’s probably already been there 5 years or so…). Confirmed the rest of my Master bedroom bedset is coming tomorrow (except the chest of drawers, which arrived at their place damaged and will be replaced) and bought an ottoman to go with the sectional couch.

nellie, hope the building search and the tests go well for you.

Sari, let us know if Sah-son survives…

Good night all.

flyboy, looks like you do a pretty steady 3 miles per hour no matter the path.

nellie, IME, if the place itself doesn’t deliver, apps like Grub Hub and Uber Eats can bring dinner to you.

My son survived and it wasn’t as horrifying as he expected. Small class, only 13 students, and he knows one of them from the groujp projects he had to do last semester.

They went over the syllabus and got divided into teams of three, there are only three presentations (the online syllabus made it sound like there were seven), and one of his team members is going to handle all the speaking in front of the class stuff since my son is shy and the other team member suffers from social anxiety.

Surprisingly, he is just about the youngest student in the class. Most of the others are in their 30s and 40s, but he is the only one who graduates this spring.

I picked him up about a block from the school, found two open parallel parking spaces and so I could pull in.

it was dry. then it rained, now it’s dry again. My stove and the kitchen sink are broke. I’m an appliance failure away from having to share the critters’ kibble. At least the fridge is still keeping the beer cold.

PEARL!
: tacklehug :

Glad you’re a little better, butters.

Glad Sahson survived, Sari.

And in off world news, things are happening that will make the Collapsing Hrung Disaster of of Gal./Sid./Year 03758 look like a walk in the park.

you know FCM i had realized i should have done that tight after i posted but it was in the wee hours and I do forget the elderly ant see as well in their dotage…:stuck_out_tongue:

But seriously yeah i’ll remember that next time

Well, I’m in hot water as I spent a bit more on helping aunt finish the big event on her mobile matchy gardeny game than i realized … but there’s no way i spent no 180 dollars on it in one weekend by my self … i think shes adding up old receipts and forgetting her part in all of it …

Normally she allows a certain amount for her mobile games but this time she had the extra money earmarked for stuff, and its dumb to waste the money but when you’ve tried lvl 3467 for an hour and you just need one thing removed and its only .99 for the “coins” to continue sos you can finish ,

Anyways glad people are feeling better last week was rough …

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 36 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy, well, dark, with a predicted high of 65 with fog this mornin’ and N.O.S. this afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and icky all day. The plan for the day includes laundry. However, I shall suggest that maybe a trip to the sto’ for weekly provisions happen today. I think I might also head over to the church house this afternoon to deal with some chores I usually do on Hump Day, such as haulin’ the biiiiiiiiiig trash can(s) to where they go for pickup. That would mean the trash cans sit there until picked up Thursday, but I think I’d rather do it when it’s not rainy and ick. Same for the grocery sto’. If’n tomorrow is as ick as TWPTB predict, we won’t have to go out in it if we don’t wanna. A desire for chili/cheese/onion/slaw dawgs has been expressed so that shall be sup with fart fest to follow.

Nellie hope all goes well today!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Well, guess who just made The List!!! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: Sassy-mouthed young-'un…

**nellie **- no one will hate you. We accept everyone in the MMP, regardless of how stupid and wrong their personal opinions might be. Honestly, the main thing I dislike about winter is the reduced daylight hours. I’m not crazy about cold, but one can always add layers.

Today, FCD’s pellet stove is being delivered. He’ll be in meetings all morning, so if they show up early, I get to deal with it. Lucky me. And that means Roxy and I won’t be going to story time today, alas. And I probably won’t be able to take her to the Thursday story time because that’s when our mattress is being delivered. But we shall see.

Thus begins another day in paradise! Happy Tuesday!

whispers to Shady Don’t worry, she’ll just put the list down somewhere and forget where she left it…

Today’s forecast was supposed to be mostly sunny with some showers, so I was gonna do skool irk at the weekend and fun stuff today. The forecast lied. It’s been chucking it down, and some of the rain is unusually white and fluffy, so I reckon I’ll be staying in, where it’s warm, and looking up stuff about plant viruses. And hiding from Moooom.

Morning all. Pretty day outside, bright and clear. Still cold, there was an icy slush on my car window but it brushed right off, and temperatures are supposed to get to 56F today. Need to do some banking today or tomorrow, but for right now iI’m awaiting the floor people, the Pest control guy (10am) and my bedroom furniture (between 2-4pm they tell me).

Nut, enjoy studying…

FCM, obligatory song: I've Got a Little List - The Mikado - Gilbert and Sullivan - YouTube (Updated version)

shady, hope the money issue is resoved.

sari, sounds like about the best deal Sah-son could have, better than some class of 200-300 (like I had as a freshman).

All y’all take care now.

I’m having a major spell of grief over Bob the Wonder Pony who crossed The Bridge 6 years ago. Don’t know why it hit so hard yesterday. Today will be a sad day. It just is.

Another sassy-britches!!! What’s with this younger generation??? Obviously, they weren’t beaten enough… :stuck_out_tongue:

The pellet stove has been delivered. Unfortunately, it came too late for us to go to story time. But I got a call that the mattress will be delivered after 3 on Thurs, so I can take Roxy to that story and play time. So yay.

SIL figures he’s got another hour or so of work till he runs out of batts. When daughter gets home, she’ll start cutting them again. Meanwhile, I need to figure out what we’ll have for supper.

Happy Toosday!

Spent two hours at the park this morning. It was a cloudy 37 feels like 30 when I got there, now the sun is shining and it’s 39 feels like 32.
Echo is worn out, which is a good thing. There is a new dog named Lexi coming in the mornings, she’s 6 months old and loves to run, so Echo is getting a good workout.

I also found out how Echo got the nickname Trouble at the daycare. One of the daycare people got a job with one of my friends at the park. It seems that Echo is not so well behaved at snack time, and has to be put in time out. Then she whines so loud that she can be heard throughout the entire building.

The ‘treat lady’ walked by the park today. Nice older lady who brings treats for the dogs. Shocked the crap out of me to see Ripple right up there with the rest of the dogs wanting a treat. Usually he won’t take food from strangers, there are people he sees almost everyday at the park who still can’t pet him, and there he was, tail wagging and waiting his turn.
There was a kid at the park today and I was happy to see Echo was being friendly with her. She usually hides from kids, but she seems to like this girl.

Friend1 is talking about coming up here on Sunday. I hope she does, she has not been doing well, depression, and we’ve all been worried about her. She also has a severe vitamin D deficiency and has not been taking her prescription pills. She just went back to the doctor and he told her she is dangerously low in vitamin D and got on her to take her pills every day. I’m sure that isn’t helping her depression, as well as the pains she has in her legs. I’d call her every day and remind her but she blocked my number. Then she gets mad at me because I never call her. I know she didn’t block me on purpose, but she is technically challenged and who knows what she did. There is a way on a land line to block the last number that called you, and she probably hit the wrong button at some time.

Got to help my son with a few more things today as far as school goes. He is having trouble with the online registery of his History of Jazz class. He took History of Rock through the same company and the company won’t let him use the same sign-on and password, which is okay, he can create a different one. However, it also won’t let him use the same email, and that is an issue because he needs to use his school email for the class. There is a way to create a separate account and then merge the accounts, but that involves calling the company.
There is also a little confusion in another of his classes about how something is to be done, and he wants me to help him write the email to the professor for clarification.

I also have to make a decision on a new computer for him. His laptop is a gaming laptop and is very old, probably close to 10 years old. He uses my computer for his classwork because he doesn’t want to add anything more to his. This annoys me because he is using my computer a lot. I’m trying to decide if I should just get him a new gaming laptop, very expensive, now and he can use it or his old one for school irk, or if I should just get another cheap one for him to use just for school irk and get him a gaming laptop later.
Or I could just put a new fan in my old laptop, or get one put in, because I don’t feel confident in my abilities to do it myself.
I thought about just getting a chrome book for him for school, but then I’ve read they are not good for college students.

I hate making decisions.

Can I have your DVDs?

Roxy and I made a quick grocery run, and she’s now napping. I had some leftover pizza for lunch. Dunno what I’ll do now. I should start cleaning my kitchen cabinets - they’re kinda dusty inside. Maybe I’ll do one a day while the kid sleeps. Yeah.

It’s not been such a bad day here, it was even bright and sunny this morning when I ventured outside to rescue my bin after the dustmen had been round. That’s all the going outside stuff I’ve done today. In fact, it’s as much going outside as I’ve done in the last three days.

Tomorrow I have to get up at a sensible time and do adulting stuff. I need to go over to mum’s flat to clear more stuff ready for the charity shop as I have a friend who will come and help. And I have to go via the crematorium to collect her ashes. My brother went on Saturday to do that but apparently since I signed the form at the funeral director’s, it has to be me who collects them.

Today I have been most fartarsing around on farcebook, and attempting to write more stuff on my performance management essay. It has eleven different sections and so far I have managed to complete eight. I get a day off tomorrow, and I should have it completed on Thursday, when I also hope to be well enough to go to the gym for an hour.

Guys are here and still tearing out my wood floor (had no idea it was so hard to remove). The termite guy took a look, need to replace the baseboard and he says Cook’s will pick up the bill…we’ll see. Probably do it after the new floor is in.

Did some banking and shopping for new Ceiling fans (Probably go to Home Depot) that I’ll have put in after all the other work gets done. Nowhere near as expensive as I feared they would be.

Now need to move the bedding around for 2-4pm furniture delivery.

Where did all this money come from? :dubious:

Howdy Y’all! I did venture out to do stuff, so, GO ME! Both of us et breakfast but snacked instead of a real N.O.L. so we’re commencin’ to get hongry. I already made up the slaw and the chili is sittin’ out thawin’. OYKW shall shortly grill the dawgs. I reckon I shall commence to heat up the chili and chop some onion when he starts grillin’. We shall early sup today.

MetalMouse I gather things are progressin’ at a possibly better than expected pace. Yay for that.

Sari can’t really blame Echo. After all, snack (treat) time is serious bidness! Hope stuff works out for SahSon re the class.

OK, I guess I should go get busy as I have been told the grill is now lit.

Well, I found the mmp. Took 2 days (:))

Seriously, I’ve been puny. Just left the clinic . Had my IV. Waiting to feel better. My BP was low. Could be a number of things causing it. Or bad freakin’ luck. I do seem to have a black cloud hanging around my head. I generally feel happy. I’ve had my moments.
I was in the infusion chair in the next cubical/room was a young lady her SO was so upset and telling her how much he loved her. Over and over. I cried like it was my next of kin. So sweet. Not sure why it affected me so.
I had my tablet, I watched free stuff and read free stuff. Gotta love that!!
Tonight will be leftovers for Mr.Wrekker. I made meatloaf Sunday and half of it is left. So meatloaf sammiches. Got his favorite salt/vinegar chips. Lazy supper.
I hope I perk up. It’s grand-parent day at grand-wreks school, tomorrow. She wants me to come eat lunch with her.

Y’all have a good evening.

[Thinking about you Nellie]

A cow-orker brought in a new poopy for another cow-orker. The poopy is eight weeks old. She (the dog) was a little overwhelmed and afraid of all of the attention. I told my cow-orkers I could speak Dog, and did the play bow. The poopy picked up on it right away, and we played. Now she’s playing with everybody.
