Currently I’m working on a CD of New York City songs, but it isn’t coming together very well. My current track listing is as follows, but be aware that the opening few tracks don’t flow very well. It gets better from about the half-way point, though.

Gex, how can you make a NYC mixtape without something by Fountains of Wayne…Union Square, for instance?

I’ll research my favorite mixtapes when I get home, but an online friend of mine once sent me a mixtape that had songs I was then unfamiliar with, but had beginnings/endings that were extremely similar, that sounded like they were blending in with each other even though they were from divergent sources, for instance, Town Called Malice/Lust for Life
(i couldnt tell if the intro was actually another verse or not)

Gex, your NY mix sounds dope, I’m definately gonna bite that.

How about “Daddy Don’t Live In That New York City No More” by Steely Dan?

Thanks for the props all. I know I’ve msised lots of great NYC songs, but I plan on making a NYC Part 2 comp as soon as I’ve finished my California, Australia, England and the South comps. Which should be in about 2005.

But, yep, I’ll definitely check out the tracks you recommend.
