Well, at least breakfast is over. And someone else did dishes last night. Not ALL the dishes, mind you, but a rack full. I am moderately grateful. And I put them away, since they were dry.
There was something I came here to say, but . . . oh, yeah. My blog cracked 2000 views. And not all of them were from wierd websites fishing for views back. It only took two or three years. The most popular page is The Petition to the Muse. The one that tickles me the most is the fantasy magic safety sheet. I cribbed it from an actual safety sheet for autoclaves. You can tell.
Now I need to go write memos. There will be no whimsy at all.
Two of the new fishies were dead this morning, dunno why They looked OK yesterday, and were eating. Hope it’s nothing contagious… The shrimp look fine, so it’s not too likely to be a water quality problem.
Had to go give the council another copy of the letter I gave them weeks ago to say I’d moved- I should remember not to go there last thing on a friday, 'cos they apparently didn’t actually file the last copy.
Din-din shall be Roasted Things today, it’s definitely starting to cool down a bit- I’m supposed to be going camping next week, not sure if that’ll really be happening.
I’ll see you a sparkly white unicorn creating rainbows with your bejeweled magic wand and raise you a picture of Harry Potter and friends with lightsabers. (Scroll down from the Star Wars 1999 logo.) ((And click previous to get the first blog post to make sense out of that. If you’re inclined - not my blog.))
yllaria I bookmarked the link to read it later, ty.
Sorry Nuts, I guess I have a last week MMP hangover but all I could think was
*Fish Heads Fish heads
Roly Poly Fish heads

Howdy Y’all! Miss me this mornin’? I had to get a move on to meet OYKW for brekkies and then be at a trainin’ thingy by seven forty-five this mornin’ so I didn’t post. Weatherwise ‘tis a pleasant 84 Amurrkin out with a nice breeze a’ blowin’. That’s downright early Fall weather around these parts!
Anywho trainin’ got over at two-thirty this afternoon and I made the executive decision to head on to da cave. Thus, here I am. Dindin shall be sammiches and chips as that’s all I can muster up energy to fix. Plus tonight is Evening Prayer over to the church house.
Honest to goodness, if this job I just took was a regular full-time permanent gig, I’d have quit today. Missy Prissy has shown herself to be a passive-aggressive, OCD control freak and crybaby, and two-faced to boot. Apparently my efforts yesterday to solve a problem without her knowledge or assistance got her all wound up. She texted the boss repeatedly last night about it! But she’s just a drafter - she has no control over what needs to be manufactured, when, by whom, or how. She gave me a drawing to do with instructions that were totally stupid, so I talked to the cognizant individual and he and I resolved the issue quite quickly and simply. Saved the company a bunch of time and money, too, and saved me from doing some really stupid drafting.
And does the boss tell her to put on her big girl panties and grow up? No, he just comes to me and asks that I copy her on all emails. I swear, as soon as I net $6K, I’ll be outta there! I figure by Christmas…
Other than that, a gorgeous day! I started out putting some poke, onions, and BBQ sauce in the slow cooker, so supper was ready when I got home. Yum! We ate really early because **FCD **has art class in Annapolis tonight and he wanted to leave at 5. So I’m without adult supervision, and I’m thinking about doing some stencil work. I don’t want to, but I should…
I also should have bought some powerball tickets. Oh well…
Happy remains of Wednesday (I love the idea of calling it Whinesday, too!!)
DH got both his Mac G4 and my HP desktop maxed out on RAM (we did have to buy a little, but I also got a nice clean new keyboard. Love that computer stuff surplus place!), plus the dead optical drive evicted from my machine. Also had a fun lunch with the gang where I volunteer.
Not such a good thing: went to do a load of laundry to have appropriate clothing for volunteering tomorrow and discovered I’d forgotten a previous load in the washer for a couple or three days. Not by any means the worst thing I’ve ever smelled (that’s a tie between heated cat urine and week-dead human body), but not good. The forgotten load is being rewashed as I type. Then gotta get clothes into the washer. Hope I can stay awake until the “clothes I need tomorrow” load is in the dryer, DH being a little absent-minded about moving laundry.
Home from Evening Prayers. ‘Twas a great service as usual. I was Slackolyte and didn’t trip, drop the Cross or set the Altar on fire so all in all a successful evenin’.
flytrap I agree that the lootery (HEE!) is a tax on people who are bad at math but when mega millions or powerball are waaaaaaaaaaay up there I sometimes buy a quick pick if I think about it and then dream of bein’ like Thurston Howell III for a few days. I know it won’t happen but it’s still fun to fantasize.
Note to nettie:
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE THE CLOTHES OUT OF THE WASHER AND PUT 'EM IN THE DRYER!!!
