Fine! You’re grazing now, have fun with that!
Rosie, you’re all set. I like you so I don’t want to put you through my teasing.
Yes I am having fun with this.

Hello everyone.
beebs, you can put me down for South Hill, WA. It used to be Puyallup, WA, but we now have our own postal codes. Sometimes we receive mail using Puyallup, and sometimes we receive mail using South Hill in address. It’s weird.
I stayed home today, “just 'cause”. I was so tired that I slept until 10:00 am. Frankly, I could sleep some more, but my back was killing me, so I just got up instead of suffering.
We did receive snow overnight Sunday night. It really messed up some folks’ commutes, but once I got off the side roads, it was fine for me. We were supposed to get “big snow” last night, but we didn’t. So, most of the snow is now melting off and my street looks bare and wet.
Well, I think I’ll cruise the boards for a bit. Hugs to all.
I don’t act like a grade schooler…poopy pants.
Another Hyattsvillan, checking in here.
Anyone up for a PG Dope some night at Franklins?
Put me in Brighton.
So you’re sort of hiding behind San Diego?
Had phone interview with Madrid prospect this morning, set up appointment for tomorrow afternoon, then a couple hours ago he calls me and tells me the other guy can’t make it in the afternoon, can it be in the morning before 2pm? I say yes, propose 11am, he checks again with the other guy (why? 11am is distinctly earlier than 2pm, innit? At least if they’re in the same day!) and I have to leave the house about 6am tomorrow yawning. Good thing I wake up early! It’s supposed to be about a 4h drive, but I’d rather take it slowly and be able to “stop and stretch.” Good wishes and crossing of appendages appreciated.
Hi new people! Glad to see you Mika!
Back to reading the thread and checking names against the map
I am utterly enchanted with this new piece of software I’ve discovered called Gradekeeper, which M College (the school I’ve been working at) has never heard of but O College (the new school) supplies for free. It’s really amazing how small things can make a teacher’s life easier. Am I a geek? Yes, yes I am.
Fingers crossed for you, Nava!
Anybody miss me?
It’s been quite a crazy day. The appointment with the health inspector went very well. As a matter of fact, she took a couple of my menus to post on the bulletin board down at the health department!
I’m really tired, so I guess that’s all for now.
well, I suppose now I deserve some teasing because I am now too far east. (<- s.e.g.)
Please “west” me a bit - With the slider at half way between global and close up, I am just the teeniest bit southwest of the Route 110 marker. thanks.
Hey, all. Busy here, Bye now.
Well, I’ve got most of the house work done, finally!
It’s so gloomy outside! There isn’t a whole lot of light that comes in the few windows we have here now, with the gloom its so much worse. I was pretty lonely feeling most of the day for some reason.
I’m not looking forward to sleeping on the heating pad again tonight, but I’m sure I’m going to have to.
Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and belated. I’ll take the gropes and confetti.
Now I’m off to cheer myself up!
P.S.
Dear Noonie,
Do you really live on the beach?
Sincerly,
Pie
I sent you a PM with a closer location.
BobbioWe’ll be passing each other Thursday morning on 58. I gotta go out to Boykins to the seatbelt factory. The level indication we sold them is acting hinky, and I gotta go troubleshoot the darn thing. So stay in your lane, okay?
Escondido? Do you know my uncle?
No problem. There is the small matter of that damned swamp in the median, after all.
Ok, can “talk” now. I was trying to fix a squeak in my bed. Ever since we moved the bed away from the wall in order to paint, it has squeaked (sqoke?)–I’m talking if you even so much as roll over. Very aggravating. #1 son and I took the mattress and spring boxes off and tightened the frame. <crosses fingers> Dust “ruffle” (no ruffles in this house) is in the wash.
My practicum didn’t suck. It will never do more than not suck, because I am not getting paid for it. I would have totally sucked at work/study (do you get paid for w/s?). But it was ok.
Pouring here, with thunder and lightning. Very weird. Snow expected soon. Weirder.
New episode of House tonight. <happy dance>
I don’t know what Franklins is, but I’m always up for a dope gathering that isn’t 2 hours away.
I accomplished a bunch today. Once I came home and let the doggies out to pee, I loaded the trash and recycling in the van and took it all to the conveniece center. Next stop, the pharmacy for 2 med refills, followed by a trip to Food Lion and McKay’s for groceries. Back home to feed the critters, unload the groceries, and call my mom. **FCD ** is taking me out for supper - we’re going to a Mexican place in Leonardtown - I’m trusting that they’ve got something I’ll like to eat. We shall see.
All the threats of rain amounted to pretty much nothing. It is nice and mild, but we could use some precip.
And that’s about all. Another day in paradise.
I knew it was going to rain all day.
When I think storms in the winter, it’s usually snow. Thunder and lightning? Notsomuch.
Oldest wants to use the computer for a report due on Monday. I wish teacher’s wouldn’t rely heavily on the internet for information gathering. I know a lot of families around here don’t have them, what do their kids do? I’m going to email the teacher and ask.
Heh, I just went back and looked at the satellite where beebs put me. Hee! I’m in the baseball park across from the Poh-leece Station. Amazingly, that is only about five minutes from my house, and even closer to moooomm’s darling daughter’s potential reception site. Oh, gawd, I’ve got the “It’s a Small World” earworm!!
Woo hoo, Hyattsville! Hey, EL, I’m up for a meet at Franklins - FCM, it’s a general store with a restaurant that has it’s own microbrewry, I think. They’ve got a pretty nice menu, although I’ve never eaten there. It was a 5 & 10 in the past, and has retained some of that, with tons of kitchsy stuff for sale in the store part.
Today I called the City of Hyattsville Dept. of Public Works, which is responsible for the various parks in the city. I was calling because there is a FOR SALE sign up on this little park a couple of blocks from where I live. It’s a funky sign, though, hand-made … I mean, it really doesn’t look right. And I just couldn’t imagine that the city would be selling a park! So I called to find out what was going on. It turns out that the park is NOT owned by the city, but by the day care center that’s also on the property; they had a long-standing agreement with the city, apparently–the city could use the park in return for upkeep on it. There are a few swings and a “fire truck” that kids can climb on. There’s also grassy space enough for kids to kick a ball around, but also quite a few large shade trees. Now the day care center wants to sell the property. I don’t think there is anything the city can do about it, unfortunately, and this will really change the landscape–they’ll probably put houses there. This little park is where I went in 2001 to see the meteor showers! Ah well.
Still have grocery shopping to do, probably on Thursday (I keep putting it off LOL); guess Rigs grocery shopping loathing has rubbed off on me.
