Those forums make me want to cry a lot of the time. They’re supposed to be ENGLISH TEACHERS, and yet the stupidity levels there are alarming. Just confirms my prejudice that most foreign ESL teachers in Korea are idiots.
I forgot:
Order of the Stick
Perry Bible Fellowship comics
Extreme Punctuation
I’ll freely admit to reading literotica.org. It’s hard to find GOOD writing there though. Most of what I find amuses rather than arouses me.
Oh, maybe it is a .com - I’m not about to check at work. My best friend and I use to amuse ourselves by sending each other links to the most ridiculous stories we could find on there.
Just as I can’t check at either. I’m working and don’t dare go there! Maybe **Beebs ** can check for us. But then again, we might not see him for hours.
I truly wonder how some of those stories got “approved” to go on there.
McUne & Haze that sounds like an interesting site. Goodvibes used to have a section on their website for hot stories, but alas it got taken down. I wonder if they finally realized that they put the same stories on the site that they were trying to sell in books…
I’ve sent Dave’s ESL cafe to Lilbro, who is in 5th grade for English at the official language school (5th year is the highest, your “pass” certificate actually counts as a TOESL degree in Spain). Hopefully he’ll find some of the student’s resources helpful!
ETA: why am I getting religion-related ads? If google starts trying to give me copies of the Lighthouse I’ll yell!
I’ve never played online. Meeting up to play sounds like fun…I don’t want to risk loading the site at work though. We usually play the old fashioned way–on the board. The expansions and related games are fun too.
Just 'cause you’re a teacher doesn’t mean you know anything. Let me introduce you to some of the nuts that passed through the English bullpen last year: the crazy old lady who threw a basketball at her 8 a.m. class until she hit a girl in the face and was told to stop; the geeky gamer guy who turned out to be a stalker-rapist; the functional alcoholic who ended up killing his cousin in a car wreck; and me who was having so many personal problems that my teaching sucked monkeys.
Just for fun, here’s a list of all the webcomics I check daily/weekly (the ones that haven’t been mentioned already)
Cities and Knights is the only one I think I haven’t played.
It got bumped on the ‘to get’ list when the stopped making Starfarers. (They lost the molds used to make the pieces. No. Really. They lost them. And they aparently cost too much to replace. So, they elected to stop making the game.)
when you get a chance - check out the Java site I linked - we could play the two of us and two ‘bot’ players - but not today - I won’t be home 'til after 11 EDST
yes - and since it’s because of chorus rehearsal, I’m always too wound up to get to sleep much before 1am - which means I’m a zombie at work every Firday
