The MMP That Drives Like an Idiot

doggio, I get no pleasure at all in tormenting you! The closest Mexican grocer to you is on 4000 Atlantic Ave - El Mandado‎. Just go in and ask if they import Coke from Mexico and make sure it says Hecho en Mexico on it. The grocery I found carries Coke from both Mexico and the US. Read the labels. Or you can come down to Don Joses in Apex!

Don’t work too hard!

Ohjezuschrist I just got in a dirt fight with someone here.

Someone hide this this thread immediately!

Hi, everyone!

Pugs, I am sorry for your loss.

Well, I am about to have different insurance and more insurance. My work is changing insurance carriers and going back to Blue Cross because the new guys went up about 100%. My doctor didn’t accept their insurance anyway, but does accept BCBS so it works out better for me. I also got some supplemental policies from AFLAC - cancer, accident and health event (read heart attack). About $100 per check will be going to insurance but it is worth it. I will save that much a month in script coverage.

The Cousin is back home and slowly going downhill. She asked for the dog back, so Mr. SCL took him over - two days later she gave him away to a family with a little girl. I am happy for him - we really couldn’t spend the time with him that he needs and deserves - but she could have asked us if we wanted him back, ya’know? I miss the yappy little bouncer. And the large yellow neigborhood tomcat was sitting on the wall yesterday looking for his torment-toy. (insert evil smiley here)

I have today off - game tonight - but the end of the season is looming. Wahhhhh! Laundry all day.

Hugs & kisses to all; boos and haddocks where appropriate.

Someone get me off of icanhascheezburger.com. I do have work to do today. It’s not getting done due to kitties.

And your point is… :stuck_out_tongue: Then there’s always the colonel.

gotti a buff hubby with handcuffs… pardon me while I swoon… Seriously, I hope all goes well for DH and the career change.

Hi Snakes! I have supplemental coverage with AFLAC too. I also have a little AFLAC duck that goes “AFLAC” when I squeeze it. Envy me! BTW, that cancer insurance will pay for some yearly screenings. My advice is look into that. It just may cover stuff like a mammogram and/or pap smear. I know for me it covers a yearly prostate screening. Just sayin’ cause if’n it does, you should take advantage of it. Plus, Yay for a day off!

beebs watch those dirt fights. We just had the carpet cleaned.

I have the chicken boobies cookin’ away in the slow cooker with some cream o’ chicken soup, celery and rice. ‘Tis easy to do. Just combine the boobs, soup, celery and rice with a little water and let slow cook away. ‘Twill be nummy. I’m thinkin’ I’ll nuke some frozen peas and carrots to go with it. I also took a pan of those frozen store bought rolls out of the freezer to thaw and rise. Ol’ y’all know who will think he’s spoiled. Did I mention that tonight will be a spend the night night since I played hooky and called him and said he’d have home cooked dindin and to stay the night? I didn’t? Well, I did. I expect there shall be “appreciation” for all my efforts. OOH! Just had a thought. There’s vanilla ice cream in the freezer which would go well with a peach cobbler which I happen to have all the ingredients for. Oh yeah… there will be “appreciation” tonight! He is overly fond of peach cobbler, after all.

BTW, the kitchen is clean and all the laundry is done. I have been nonslothful.

Later Y’all!

ETA: Snakes I know she’s been a PITA, but I hope cousin’s end is peaceful.

swampy, I likes peach cobbler too. I don’t suppose you can send the leftovers over in this direction, couldja?

We’re going out for persian food tonight. The Boy and I are meeting up with one of his old friends that he hasn’t seen in a few years. Apparently she’s a very sweet gal, though I’m prepared to be quite intimidated as she’s studying for a PhD in psych at Yale and is stunningly gorgeous to boot (at least, in all the photos I’ve seen).

I, on the other hand, have a bird’s nest of hair that refused to cooperate this morning, have a giant pimple growing on my chin, have bags under my eyes from getting less than 6 hours sleep after last night’s heating crisis, and had to skip my morning shower because we had no heating (the thermostat said 14C when I woke up). Gah. I’m guessing she’ll be one of those horribly perfect people who is insanely smart, incredibly gorgeous and very very very NICE. In which case, I’ll have to turn green from jealousy.

Nawp! Cause I gots one of em, too. So there! :stuck_out_tongue:

Is today CatHorkDay?? **FCD ** woke up to a present this morning, and I came home to another just a bit ago. Stoopit cat.

Supper tonight is fake crab quiche. Real quiche made with fake crab. I’ll start it as soon as I feed the critters (which will happen as soon as I post this.) I was going to cook up the corned beef but I decided I’d try out my new crock pot and cook it tomorrow. No, I’m not waiting till Monday. I ain’t Irish. Deal. :stuck_out_tongue:

Van goes in for an oil change tonight. Actually, it’ll be done tomorrow, but I’m dropping it off tonight. And I have a load of whites in the washer. I am so productive! Go me.

And now, me go feed critters. MWAH!!

I have several AFLAC ducks in different outfits; a good friend of mine is the chief tax honcho at AFLAC. The headquarters is here, and one of the sons of the founder is the owner of the Cottonmouths. Well, his wife is.

Yeah, Swampus Bearus, the supplemental does pay for well health checks - it is nice to get paid for something I have to have done anyway. Except I have never had a mammogram. ducks and covers ears I should have had a baseline done 12 years ago…but…no insurance. Speaking of which, my late MIL told me how to practice for a mammogram - shut your tit in the fridge door and stand there while someone goes to the store. Quit yelling, ya’ll - I will go get my tits squished as soon as the insurance kicks in.

Laundry is sudsin’ away. Damn, look at the time! I gotta go get ready for the game. I have to pick up some goodies for my player!

Whew! I’m finally caught up.

Hugs and waves and Yay!s and so on.

We had a team lunch out and now we’re all a bit sleepy. :o (That’s us yawning.)

It’s a beautiful day here - in the 40s and sunny! It’s the first day in the 40s since Nov! Yay!

Critters are fed. Whites are in the dryer. Quiche is in the over waiting for me to make it hottify. I’m waiting for **FCD ** to call so we can meet at the car-fixer-place and I can leave my van for an oil change.

It’s gonna be another melatonin night. I slept pretty well last night, but I need more zzzzzzzz. Stoopit cat…

Arrgghhhh!

I’m drowning in a sea of work!!!

(I miss you guys.)

So What! :stuck_out_tongue: Ain’t he just soooooooooooooo keeeeee-yoooooote!

All I can say is AFLAC!!! Now go get it done young lady! I mean ASAP!

Ok, chicken/celery/rice is done. Rolls are in the oven. Peach cobbler is made up and in the fridge to be cooked a little later. Ol’ Y’all Know Who is on his way. It’s also raining here and coolish. Thus… there is a bottle of champagne chillin’ in the fridge freezer, along with two champagne flutes. After supper I shall suggest a soak in the hot tub with Ol’ Y’all Know Who goin’ on ahead of me. Then I shall preheat the oven, pop the peach cobbler into the preheated oven, take the champagne and flutes out of the fridge and join said Ol’ Y’all Know Who in the hot tub for a nice soak and a glass of champagne or two, in which time said peach cobbler will have had time to cook. Am I angling for some “appreciation”? Oh Yeah, I am!

Ok off to finish up dindin stuff. Later Y’all!

-swampy (Yeah so I am a bad bear, get over it! :stuck_out_tongue: )

One day closer to Firday, yay!

Tomorrow, I have to go grocery shopping; hopefully, Safeway will have corned beef briskets on sale. Hopefully. It’s also the day that the office is taking the boss and another co-worker out to lunch; Friday is their last day. :frowning: The poor guy who is going to be acting boss has a boat load of stuff that he’s got to get acclimated with, from time card approving to purchase approving, all of which is done online. I’ve started most of the processes to get him into the various systems, but he has some forms he’s got to fill out too. Fortunately, I’ve also been able to line up a couple of good people to show him the ropes and I can always help too. The approval process is, fortunately for -him-, much easier than what I have to do. :stuck_out_tongue: Anyways, we’re headed to Ledo’s for lunch tomorrow. I’m not having their pizza, though!

I think we’re going to have Trader Joe’s shrimp stir-fry for dinner tonight, yum!

ETA: Swampy, that dinner and dessert sound delicious!! Hope the appreciation is just as good!

You all need to go to this thread to see the adorableness. It’s baby goat season!

I feel like making a St. Patty’s Day cake over the weekend for work. Does anyone have any good green cake recipes? I like how this one looks, but they’re missing the directions on how to make the shamrock.

Awwww… cute!

Thanks for the link Nava, that helped calm my nerves.
Holy smokes, that went well! I like her even better in person. We talked at the restaurant for over an hour, and it started to get a little busy, so I invited her to come to my house so we could talk more without censoring ourselves. She thinks I’m as sexy as I find her, so toward the end there, it was more kissing than talking. Then she had to leave to pick her son up from school.
A small bit of background: she contacted me on Thursday, I answered and we went to IM on Friday. For 4 hours. Saturday, 3.5 hours. Sunday, neither of us had much free time, but we managed an hour, and on Monday, I gave her my number, and we spent almost 5 hours talking. First thing that she told me on Friday was that she is married. I had a chance to talk with her husband, and he confirmed that yes, he approves of his wife dating women. As long as it’s not another man, he doesn’t see it as cheating. I’m cool with a polyamorous relationship, as long as everyone is on the same page, and so far, so good.

Peach cobbler and chapagme here, too? Without the ‘appreciation’, unfortuntaely. We’re not each other’s types.
Mr. Lissar just came home from work with a five pound box of Cadbury Easter Eggs. Cadbury (as I may have mentioned before) rents space in their building. Five pounds. Anyone want one?

looks at you with big eyes
