The MMP that gets songs stuck in your head

nap if you’re sleepy. you won’t get much work done thinking about that nap.

In from the cee-mint pond. I’d do an ogbligatroy durnkne psot but I only had two margaritas so I’m good.

Dindin preparations shall begin shortly.

I used to believe in something, but I forgot what it was.

I believe in Crystal Light, so I believe in me.

Dindin has been ingested. Everyone is in sloth position. The viewin’ of Greater Tuna, which, if y’all have never seen it, is an absolute must see, shall commence shortly.

I did take a nap but it lasted longer than I wanted it to.
I was afraid of that.

Now I’m up and about to at dinner then I have to get to irk.

Of all the ailments in the world, which one had to stop by for a visit? Hay fever! Oddly, it’s almost entirely on the left side of my head. Eye is watering, nose is watering, and I feel awful. Claritin-D is barely touching it.

:sigh : I need the Powerball Fairy to visit my place tonight.

Who doesn’t, except maybe Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey?

Good morning! I think my ears have finally stopped ringing. WHY would you have a reunion where some folks haven’t seen each other in years, then have bands that play so loud, conversation is impossible??

On top of that, the first band only played current pop music, and I know that only because I recognized one song from The Colbert Report - the rest meant nothing. The second band played some stuff from our school days, but again, so freekin’ loud!! And then there was the guy who thought he was Elton John - dressed in *supposedly *flamboyant clothes, singing from Sir Elton’s songbook, *almost *on pitch. Not very impressive. My friends and I spent a lot of time standing around in the corridor outside the hall so we could talk without screaming.

Tip to future reunion organizers - MAKE THE LETTERING ON THE NAME TAGS LARGER!!! And spare us the fancy fonts. We’re not teenagers any longer, and our eyebones really don’t need to work that hard, especially in a dim venue. No, I don’t know why the lights were low. Also, if you’re having folks from multiple graduation years, color-code the name tags so we can tell at a glance if we were in each other’s class! But mostly, TURN THE VOLUME DOWN!!!

I think I’d mentioned before that my graduating class was something like 850 students. So it shouldn’t be surprising that I wouldn’t remember them all. What did surprise me was that I hardly remembered any names. I talked to a couple of guys who were total strangers. There were a couple of the women whose names I recall, but just barely. But as I thought back, I had a very small circle of friends back then since I was extremely shy and quiet (yeah, I got over it) and two of them were attending with me, so it was no surprise that I didn’t know anyone else.

What did surprise me was how old some of them looked. There were folks there that were obviously in their late 50s, there were some who looked like they might be in their 40s, but there were some who made us wonder if some faculty had shown up - they really looked like they might be that much older than we are. Got me to thinking about the aging process - I wonder how many of them were genetically predisposed to stay younger or look lots older, and how many just had really tough lives that showed in their bodies… And then there was the board with classmates who had died - some I’d known about, but there were several very sad surprises. :frowning:

Afterwards, three of us went over to one’s apartment and we talked about miscellaneous stuff for a couple of hours, and we’re going to try to do lunch some day soon. So that was nice. Unfortunately, when I got back to Mom’s, *she *wanted to talk, and talk, and talk - I didn’t get to bed to way later than I’d wanted to. But I slept OK and I’m up now, and once she gets up, I can shower and get ready to head south again. I have lots of lilies, liriope, hostas, and some other miscellaneous stuff to get into the ground. I’m hoping to plant some of it today, since the weather is staying nice and mild.

I also helped Mom by replacing a toilet seat for her, helping her order some parts for her pool-cleaning robot, and straightening out her computer after IE10 self-installed, screwing up her shortcut bar. I tried to get her to use Firefox, but I’m guessing one of my sibs uninstalled it for her. Whatever…

It’s still dark out, but I trust the sun will rise soon, and my day will begin in earnest.

Happy Sunday!!

Blurf.

Well, I survived my first day in the rough and tumble world of security guardin’.
I did get to try Football stewarding in the morning- my first ever proper footy match, and I had my back to the pitch for most of it. Then back for the evening elsewhere…

He said he’d give me an easy shift for the door stuff to start off with, and wasn’t kidding- I wound up on the door at a retirement party… The main danger was death by boredom, but all the guests were very nice, and enjoyed making sarky comments and pointing out ‘troublemakers’ to me (mostly guys in their 90s). I presume it’s a condition of the venue’s license/insurance that they have to have someone there, 'cos all I needed to do was tell everyone that yes, the room with disco lighting blaring Abba right next to us was, in fact, a party, which I’m fairly sure one does not need a license to do.

I probably then freaked out my friend’s neighbours, 'cos I didn’t realise I wasn’t finishing 'til late, and I’m supposed to be feeding her cat this weekend, so I had to go there in the wee hours of the morning, still in full guard uniform

Hopefully going fishy shopping today, not sure what I’m getting- better see what they have!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a foggy 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 for the day. Whoopee cause plans today include defilthyfication of da cave after deheathenization.

Folks have arisen from slumber and JDD has offered to make brekkie. Bacon ‘n cheese omelettes, grits and toast to be exact. Believe it or not I am allowin’ JDD and Partner to  use my kitchen.

MOOOOOOM glad you had a good albeit loud time at the reunion.

Nuts yay for survivin’ all those rowdy 90 year olds!

Now I need more caffiene and shall await the feedin’ of rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence. I have feelin’ I shall be goin’ solo as somebody seems to be a bit hungover this mornin’.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I’m up and caffeinated. Gonna go watch hockey practice this morning.

Powerball is GRAY?!?!?

Happy Sunday!

It’s a beautiful 52 degrees with a projected high of 76.

You know what is pathetic? The HFH came back Thursday night, I’ve been mostly gone until today and this morning she is starting shit. I think it’s pretty damn sad when a 51 year old woman is so desperate for attention that she has to act like a bratty two year old to get it.
I was pissed but now I can just laugh at her sorry ass that getting attention from me means so much to her that she is willing to show her ass to get it.

So I’m going to try to irk,
but what with the cunt slamming doors and teasing her dogs to make them bark I might not be able to.

Pictures?

Nuts, well done on herding the oldies, they can be a stubborn and troublesome bunch!

I am having a predicted busy day here, I have already done a mountain of post-holiday ironing, chaged the bedding and washed all of that, and am now sorting out my photos so that my doting parent can look at them next week when I go to visit her.

Once that’s finished, I have a letter to write and I promised the wii half an hour of my time too. I’m sure once that’s over, I’ll be retiring to a long soaky bath and then dinner. Must make sure I go to bed early tonight, I am back at irk tomorrow.

I was supposed to finish that assignment last month before my holiday but they asked me to come back as their new lady can’t start until 23rd September and that is the beginning of Welcome Week for the students so it is a very hectic time for everyone and a very bad time to start a new job.

Ho hum. Time to get on!

Mornin’. Up and caffienating. I’m going to have no plans for the day and see how that goes.

In good news, my African violet cutting sprouted a tiny new leaf last night! It took six months to get to this point. No lie. Six months.

Now I guess I *have *to give the striped violet back to my dad. Maybe mine will be striped, too. Although Dad did say he tried a cutting from the same plant and the flowers came out plain.

LOL thank you

Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization, have had N.O.L. and have decrudded both bathrooms. Go Me! Next up defilthyfication of the kitchen, then to tackle the bedrooms, study, livin’ room and dinin’ room. After that will come vacuumin’ and moppin’. Cave sanitizin’ is hard work!

Ok, back at it.
