For the last week for me its been Climax Blues band: I Love You.
The CTPMO isn’t as vast for me, mainly because I’m kinda happy about that whole bone growing where it should thing, but the car does need two new tires soonish and the truck needs a new battery sooner, and two tires about two weeks after soonish. That all is just a CTMMB.

Things with legs or wheels tend to consume money…
I’m still trying to figure out if I’ll remember how to spell ‘mainframe’ correctly.
“May you spend eternity at a Barry Manilow concert surrounded by screamin’, adorin’ Barry Manilow fans who will beat you mercilessly because you will continually be compelled to yell out I hate Barry Manilow!”
The son of the Mikado is disguised as the third chair trombone in a traveling orchestra.*
“But what if I were no musician?”
“Oh! I knew it directly I heard you play!”
So this is the earworm MMP and I have a few additions as I just got back from band practice. These are tunes we play
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMtUP_U-nGc
This version is over long but sweet and awesome, Donny Hathaway “The Ghetto”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyDb4szpWmc
Talking Heads “Cross Eyed and Painless”, our version is different but you get the idea
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jrmtmQIc9k
The Meters “Funky Miracle”. We play it like they do and wish we did.

We are about to tear into that, methinks we are in over our heads, I am. My apologies to Chuck in advance.

Whiskey! Tango! Foxtrot!
Wha’dja all do to the goat??? It came to blows at the end, and I barely escaped after briefly stunning him. I’m not certain that he’s not behind me…
Anywho, sorry to pop in for the first time a couple weeks ago and then disappear. I’m currently training classes for several very emotionally-charged programs.
I work when they tell me. Last week, it was two day and two evening classes. “Sure, I’d love to get off work at 12:30 am and be back in at 8:00 am.”
Like ima do tomorrow night/Friday morning. Off at 12:30 am Friday, and in at 8:00 am the same day…
Kinda limits my Dope surfin’ time…
grumble
And really. What did y’all do to the goat?
Are those hoofbeats?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a muggy 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 for the day. Summer’s hangin’ in there as long as it can.
gotti yay for new bone growth!
zarf (it’s a workin’ nickname. your name made me think of zarf which is one of my favorite wods) don’t worry. The goat only follows those he ummmm… “loves.”
Ok that’s all I got. Time for more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Blurf!!!
What she said.
Happy Thorsday
although there is not much happy about today for me - the HFH comes back today
It’s 74 degrees outside with a projected high of 91.
It’s flippin hot in the house.
I start watching piddle pup today through Saturday.
Spaz My actual favorite is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04bg9IC9N6w
but I like drums too.
I used to be a belly dancer (although you’d never know it to look at me now) and drums make me want to move (until me knees and back remind me that I’m not 20 anymore).
Don’t know why I have always hated Chicago, isn’t it funny how some bands just rub people the wrong way for no real reason?
Yay! Gotti I’m glad everything is going well.
Morning all,
TGIT and I don’t have to irk tomorrow. Today is probably gonna be another excruciatingly slow days. I managed to start and finish a whole book yesterday. Shhh, don’t tell anyone I’ve been reading at irk, its a secret. I gots security refresher training this morning to ensure I remember not tell nobody nothing. Hopefully the NCIS agent will resemble either Gibbs or Dinozzo. I will even take McGee.
I had a lot of trouble getting moving this morning. Roomie had to yell at me to get out of bed, and then yell at me again because it was time to leave the house.
You know what I’m doing this weekend? Absolutely nothing. And I’m so excited for it.
The goat will arrive at a time & place of our choosing; in other words, when you least expect it!
I learnt sumpin’ last weekend: you can hear horseshoes ::clomp-clomp:: 1/2 mile up. Never realized how loud they were.
Well, it looks like the Mumper job fairy might finally have made it over here- I’m having a trial on sattidy as security at the local football or rugby ground (not sure which).
It wasn’t much of an interview, to be honest, it was a “Hi, you have a card? Great, this is what we do; here’s the form, here’s the uniform and rules checklist, I’ll start you off on Saturday if that’s OK, any questions?” It sounds like they have as much work going as the other place, if not more, and it’s nicer places (they do some of the nicest venues in town- including the main circus one- as well as doing loadsa festivals in season, which sounds much more interesting than doing the same nightclub every weekend).
He also said I was fine to get another part time job to go with it, so long as it was daytime and during the week, and wasn’t in the same industry, which was the one thing I was concerned about. There’s a lot of one day a week admin jobs around, and it seems like a good plan to get a bit more regular income and make sure I don’t have all my eggses in one basket workwise. Due to the awkward rules on benefits here, it actually could have cost me money to work only one day as a sole job, which is why I haven’t gone for one before.
I hope this works out!
Blurf.
I am home from my travels, had an amazing time but now I’m tired and jetlagged and don’t quite know where I’m coming, going or if I’ve been. So far today I have done all the laundry, fetched the cats back from the moggery and been grocery shopping.
As for earworms, I quite often have this little tune stuck in my head. It’s a Finnish band that I first saw back in 2005. This particular video is from a festival I was at (also in Finland) in 2008 so there are bonus points for spotting me in the crowd. They don’t play it live so much any more, and they no longer have the accordion player as she’s gone on to do other stuff. Purely for entertainment value, here’s another festival gem… Motorhead with a penny whistle.
Anyway, it is now 2.30pm, time for a late lunch and an afternoon on the sofa catching up with myself and hopefully making amends with at least one cat.
Congrats on the job front, Nuts - hope it works out well for you!
Today’s earworm is “We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz.”
The heat has moved on. Today’s forecast is 78 but it is still a bit hoomid. Summer had its last gasp yesterday. I’m looking forward to sweatshirt weather.
Draelin (has a nickname been bestowed on you yet?), I LOFF weekends with nothing planned. Take naps. Watch tv. Eat potato chips. Do what you want when you want, as long as the goat is o.k. with that.
Hey, small world- I didn’t go to that festival, but I was in Joensuu in 2010- the place doesn’t come up very often.
Debating making bananana cupcakes… I probably should. I even have chocolate and fudgy bits to top them with, and sucking up to new housemates is often a good plan.
Nobody’s ever bothered with a nickname other than Drae. I’d probably forget that they were talking to me if they did. ![]()
I need to do basic house maintenance this weekend–fold laundry, de-skank kitchen and bathroom … but that’s about it and it will really only take Saturday morning. I believe the rest of the time I’m going to sit around, crochet, and watch tv with the Roomie. We might play our new murder board game some more, but I think it’s not as much fun as it could be with only two players. ![]()
Well, Charles Whitman is a bit cumbersome for a nick anyway. ![]()
