Flytrap and Spidey all snakes are evil. All snakes must be vanquished. I am a weenie when it comes to snakes. Seriously it was all I could do not to leave da cave but I butched it up and killed the sneaky, devious, evil creature bent on my utter destruction. That’s how I view snakes. Spidey I fire up the smoker several times a year for stuff like chikin, ribs, <snerk> boston butts <snerk>, and beef roasts. This weekend is Memorial Day in the USofA so I shall smoke ribs on Sattidy. MMMMMMMM… It’s an all day slow smoke process but the ribs shall be tender and fallin ’ off the bone when done. YUM!!!
Rosie I skipped right over badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badgher, mushroom, mushroom and went right to :eek: snake :eek: when I saw the critter. After it was all over I was singin’ badger, badger, mushroom for a while. I meant to link to it last night in my post but I forgot. I’m old. Forgetfulness happens.

Loki The Chickenshit Boxer apparently mixed it up with a wasp last night, because his left eye swelled shut in the course of about 15 minutes after letting him in from his apres puppy chow trip outside. Quick administration of Benadryl had it back open about a half hour later. Actually, I slipped him a dog mickey and he slept most of the night. No dog insomnia for me.
I wanted to slap the wife over the sting incident. “We need to give him one of my epi pens!!!”
“No, we don’t.”
“Why not? He’s been stung! Just LOOK at that eye of his!!!” She was coming close to depleting the US quota of exclamation marks.
“Unless and until he starts to have breathing issues, epi is not called for. Epinephrine is adrenaline, and I will not deal with a wired dog tonight.”

I get to to visit the Annapolis Police Dept today and introduce myself to the powers that be so that the local officers won’t be surprised when I start showing up at breaking news scenes.Its a courtesy I try to extend and with a little work it makes everyone’s job a little easier.
Of course this is a day after the news broke that Gary Giordano was arrested for indecent exposure here in Annapolis. He is a person of interest in the disappearance of Robyn Gardner in Aruba last year. You can’t make this stuff up.

As I recall, it’s a pretty busy parking garage, too. What kind of moron thinks getting nekkid and busy in such a place is a good idea? Too cheap to get a room apparently. And just how does he keep getting wimmins? ick
Another not-so-great night. I had a terrible time falling asleep. But I’m up, and shortly, I’ll don appropriate clothing and run to the store before making the batch of pickled veggies for my sweetie. After that, it’ll be a dash to the convenience center. Then, who knows… The weather is still being weird, so I don’t expect to go outside to work today. What I want to do is go back to bed.
I’ll be glad when my sweetie gets back home - I don’t like living alone.

I think I’m gonna combine Swampy & Mom’s ideas for this weekend…get pickled while I smoke sumpin’!
I learned to smoke from a neighbor from Texas. He’d make beer-can chicken - new (1/2) can for the bird to sit on every 1/2 hr (by drinking the first 1/2) + 1-2 beers while watching the smoke rise = 3-4 beers/hr for a bunch of hrs = pickled Texan!
Rebo, she’s gorgeous. Congratulations! I’m told that grandmothering is a great job.

I HAVE A JOB!!! A REAL JOB!!! A FUTURE PROFESSION HELPING JOB!!!
In other words, I am now an employee of the Southbridge Veterinary Hospital!! I start tomorrow at noon! I’ll be starting out on the desk, answering phones and entering appointments, selling heartguard and frontline. As I get comfortable in that, I’ll start helping out in the exam room by holding animals, weighing them, and various other unskilled labor. The best part is that Dr. Kris said that as time allows, she’ll teach me about the things she looks at in the microscope which ties directly into my Pathobiology major!
I have the job for the summer, starting at 25 - 30 hours per week, more if I want them as I get used to the job. She’s trying to find a long term good fit employee to do the job so if she finds one, I’ll basically fill in when needed. Then after school starts if she still needs a part time helper, I’ll cover Saturdays and whenever I’m on vacation.
I’m so excited! I can’t wait for tomorrow! Not only will I make enough money to get my textbooks without worrying about my financial aid covering them, I’ll be able to pay for the annoying Y membership for the pool use. The best part is that this will look awesome on a resume after I finish my degree and start looking for work in the animal disease world.
