Snakes in the news…

Shocked snake knocks out power to 6,300 homes in Concord

The little slithery devils are trying to destroy civilization!

**congo **- ***YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! *** Very exciting!! Plus it’ll keep you out of trouble, since we all know how wild you get when you’re idle…

**kopek **- Six Flags America is the closest park to me, with Kings Dominion a slightly farther second. If you hit either of those, I’ll see what I can do about lunch or something.

**FCD **just called. So far, it still looks like he’ll be coming home tomorrow, so yay for that. I was telling him about the veggies I pickled for him and I realized that I completely forgot the carrots! :smack: Oh well, if this batch comes out OK, I’ll do another, with carrots.

Apart from watering my flower boxes on the front porch, I’ve been mostly a slug today. I need to drop something off with a former coworker to take to another former coworker, but other than that, I’m in the bum mode.

Anyone else have a Yahoo account that’s being spammed into oblivion? I’ve been getting all kinds of crap - mostly pr0n-ish - for the last few weeks. It all goes instantly into the spam folder and I delete it all unopened (like I’m interested in joining FucBook…) But someone somewhere got hold of my yahoo address. And I can’t just dump that account since it was, up till now, the one my family and a few friends used almost exclusively. Stoopit spammers.

That’s my old stompin’ grounds South!

My old stompin’ grounds North produced this little incident earlier this week.
Ah, Rowan-Cabarrus counties. Never stop being entertaining.

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and et an early dindin. Leftovers from yestiddy. Still good though. Ima go to Evening Prayer over to the church house in a bit.

gotti I’ve always believed snakes everywhere are always attemptin’ to destroy civilization. They are in cahoots with the wasps, roaches and fire ants.

Yay for the new job shortdrum! It’ll be fun right up until the first critter poops and/or pukes on ya.

**Spidey I like beer butt chikin. If you don’t want to waste a good beer, half a can of any kind of lemon/lime soda with some fresh herbs works really good. It got named beer butt chikin at da cave because one of the steps is, shove the can up the chikin’s butt.

Laterz!

finally home - too tired to retain any of what I just read, so: Hugs, Yays, Boos, Pats-on-Back, Smacks-Upside-Heads, yums, and a smattering of eeeeewwwww! Please distribute as needed.

@->- =^.^=

I just got back from former coworker’s place, dropping off the package for him to deliver to another coworker. Again, he’s made me glad I’m not working there any longer. Back in January, they moved people around, but it wasn’t a reorganization. Nope. Not at all. And they still don’t have a new commanding officer - that kinda gives credence to the rumors that the command is destined to be dissolved. Anyway, I also found out this coworker is retiring in August and heading to Florida. Bummer - he’s my go-to computer repair guy!! Such is life.

I just had a bowl of Cheerios for supper. My tummy has felt funky much of the day and I thought a nice fiber-filled bowl of crunchitude was just the thing. We shall see.

And on that note, I think I’ll assume the knit position for a while before letting Melatonin put me to sleep tonight.

:heart::heart:MWAH!!!:heart::heart:

Heh. You’re funny. Don’t forget, I own 3 dogs. I’m constantly dealing with poop, pee, and vomit. Sweetie doesn’t deal well with vomit so I get to deal with it all. At least he helps with the poop and pee. I also get the tick removal, wound cleaning, medication administering…

Actually, just last night we were all in bed and Holly was draped over Sweetie and her head was on my stomach. I started giving her scritches when I felt what felt like a tick right under her eye. So, I got up and turned the light on and started investigating. It turns out that one of the other dogs bit her right under her eye a while ago and she had a scab. But, the scab was attached to fur and pulled off. So, I finished removing the fur/scab and realized that it was bleeding under the mat of yuck. So, I stopped the bleeding, put antibiotic ointment on it, turned the light off and got back into bed. This morning Sweetie asked me why the antibiotic ointment was on his bedside table. He friggen slept through it all. :dubious:
The doctor gave me two scrub shirts for now, until I can get my own. She pulled them from the supply given by drug reps. They keep them on hand for when someone gets peed or pooped on. There’s even a shower in the bathroom because the previous vet used to bike to work and liked to clean up before work.

We haz babyPulchers!

Howdy Y’all! Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. Actually been home a little while but I had to make myself a sammich cause I was feelin’ a might peckish for some reason. Tummy growled at me on the way home.

Cute fishies flytrap! Don’t know much about 'em but they look all healthy to me.

On that note I think I shall go lie upon the bed and watch some teevee until sleepy bye time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Yay Shortdrum!

Rebo, cutie grandkid.

LiLI, grandkids are the best. You hype 'em up on sugar and hockey, and send 'em home to the parents.

Digging in my closets, trying to find my suit and shirt to funeralize in tomorrow. Shirt had a big ol’ coffee stain, so an emergency wash for it. The up side is, straight from the dryer, I won’t have to iron it.

Only going as far as Newport News. No trip to Cottonfield County this time.

Listening to the scanner online right now following this story:

MD| Kent| Galena| Technical Rescue/Trauma| 12859 Vansants Corner Rd| Units O/S with a farm owner reporting that 2 possibly 3 of her workers have fallen in the manure pit, workers have not been seen since appx 1400hrs today and the tractor is still running, small boats requested along with dragging equipment| <C> BNN | BNNDESK/mde069/md7ob/mdgcp | #491197

Yup, 2 or 3 people lost in a pit of liquefied manure…

Sure they ain’t out drinkin’?

That may have started the whole thing…
Did I mention that I have Pulcher fry?

No shit!
Oh wait, we’re s’posed to keep this SFW; I meant to say, “Golly!”

There must be baby fish… er, I mean, chemicals involved in this.
“Hold my beer a sec… watch this!”

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93. I do believe it is officially Summer in south Jawja. Saturday’s high is predicted to be 98. Definitely pool time weather. Gonna smoke some ribs. YUM!!!

gigity, spidey and flytrap I’d say I’ll have what y’all are havin’ but I’m not sure it’s a legal substance. Also, flytrap you’re not supposed to fry the fish in your aquarium.

BBBobbio I am comforted to know that you realize the importance of proper funeral attire. Sorry for the loss of your friend.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Good morning! I  my melatonin! Slept thru the night and awakened more or less refreshed - and so far today, I’ve showered, dressed, stripped the bed, rotated the mattress, and started a load of laundry.

On the other hand, I’m going to :clubs: Taz - I had the stripped bed linens on the floor by the basement stairs while I was putting my shoes on. He peed on the pile! This, just on the opposite side of the door from the cat box!!! What a brat!! Guess what’s in that first load of laundry…

**FCD **should be coming home today… I hope. He didn’t call last night, but the plan was to return to Johnstown, drop off his coworker and crash for the night, then come home today. Also coming today is the health inspector from the county to check our well for nasties. And going away from home today should be a truckload of trash and recycling. The convenience center opens at 9:30 - with luck, health department guy will have been here and gone by then.

**flytrap **- are you breeding the fishies or was this a surprise? Before the hurricane wiped out our last fish population, we had a clownfish lay some eggs, but she didn’t have a mate, so it was just so much caviar for the rest of the tank. We’ve been watching our pair of clowns lately to see if they’re gettin’ busy, but so far, no.

**tugig **- ick ick ick ick ick ick ick!!! I’m putting that on my list of Top Ten Ways I Don’t Wanna Die!!!

Laundry’s almost done - must get clothesline up and ready… Happy Thursday!

I will rise but I refuse to shine, dammit.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

My sweetie just called - he’s on his way - yay! He’ll be going to the office and I need to pick him up there around 1. Guess I need to get my chores done before then.
