Data you lost during the Y2K problem**

You’re not alone,c_carol.

People, you must bear in mind that boring is a somewhat subjective concept: what’s boring to you is not necessarily the same to someone else. A boring thread subject should arguaby be boring for (mostly) everyone.

And keep in mind that a lot of mundane things will actually generate interest in MPSIMS because it gives other people a reason to talk about their mundane stuff. (LIke jr8’s “Things You’ve Found Stuck Between Your Teeth”)

I think jr8’s

Celebrities Named Vortigern and

Bronson Pinchot: Third-Rate Actor or Third-Rate Comedian?

would pass muster, as would several of the others.

Boyo Jim’s would actually interest me, for some not as a subject but to see what’s in the thread (Do Buffalo really have wings? Hilarious!).

Maybe ‘boring’ should be identified as ‘getting no replies and the least amount of views’? I figure at least one mod would check a thread just to see you’re not up to any mischief.

I’ll give it a shot.

Post your favorite Plotin quotes here

You’re funny.

That one killed me!

I think that the problem is that boring or otherwise lame sounding thread title will sometimes get more views not because people want to read the OP, but because people want to see the responses. And then sometimes people will respond more to the responses than to the OP. Yup, that’s when the signal/noise ratio gets bumped up a notch…

Maybe it wasn’t in the right forum, but my MPSIMS thread Words formed as anagrams of other words (about the etymology of terms in physics and computer science) produced a disappointing zero replies.

That said, I’d really be interested in:
