Robin got here, safe and sound, around 9:30. We then proceeded to Vienna Metro, and walked around DC for about an hour and a half. She’s currently IMing me in the west lab at GMU. Four computers down from me, in fact.
Yep… I’m here in beautiful Fairfax, VA, sitting about four computers away from iampunha and IMing him.
We had a great time at the Lunch Bunch this afternoon. First, we walked around a bit and saw the Vietnam memorial. Then, I almost choked to death on my turkey sandwich, and I laughed a lot, but I’m OK now.

MsRobyn was actually waiting on me when I got to the restaurant! It turns out the both of us were quite exhausted so we didn’t cause any scenes during the course of our meeting. With these calm mini-Dopefests I keep attending, no one is ever going to believe I’m really evil!
Anyway, it was fun and it was great meeting MsRobyn and now she can say she went to the down-homiest, kitschiest restaurant in east Tennessee!

I am about to leave Johnson City, TN. Hopefully, I will be in Little Rock, Arkansas tonight, Dallas tomorrow night, and Houston Tuesday night. Wednesday, I will be in San Antonio, where I will sleep for about two days straight.

I’m in Little Rock, Arkansas, having had a relatively easy day’s driving. It was punctuated by a trip to the Wal-Mart in Knoxville.
Tomorrow, I will be in Dallas! I’m staying at my brother’s house in North Dallas. I’ve got a week’s worth of clothes to wash, it seems.

I am officially in Texas! I’m in Dallas, staying at my brother’s house. I’ve never been so glad to have an allergy attack in my life. Everything’s so green and lush and warm.
I go to Houston tomorrow, then on to San Antonio Wednesday.

As of 12:10, Central Daylight Time, I am now home! I am temporarily living with Robyn’rents until I can move to Houston.

Sadly, I did not get the opportunity to meet everyone I wanted to. Falcon and I probably missed each other by minutes; ChiefScott got called away on business. Inasmuch as I am planning a trip out to DC in the fall sometime (by plane this time; not car), I will be able to make better plans.
I can say with certainty that although parts of this were more fun than others, I really enjoyed meeting all of you. Y’all made this trip worthwhile in so many ways, and I look forward to seeing y’all again. (See, I told y’all I’d lose my midwestern accent ;))
