Currently working up the energy to shower and then head to to Toys R Us for the god childrens Christmas presents…I am scared as I know it will be chaos as it is starting to get really close to Christmas
I might have to stop and have a fortifying piece of cake on the way
In other more pressing news…5 days (of course you don’t count today!) til I see The Hubby :D:D:D:D:D
mmmmmms, is hubby going to be disappointed in this seemingly complete lack of enthusiasm for seeing him again?
'im indoors is off to the pub this afternoon to play pool and drink beer with a couple of friends. That means I can go into town and wander round the shops at a leisurely pace without him fretting and sighing about it. I suppose that means I’d better get on with some of that hexmas shopping stuff before it all gets too crowded and nasty.
Good morning all! I think I totally missed Friday, post-wise at least, this week. :smack: At least it IS the weekend. And 5 more days until Mmmmmmm sees her hubby.
Haze, Clueless one needs a 2X4 upside the haid or that frozen trout of Rigs - btw, where the heck is Rigs these days?!
Glad your suitcase arrived, Taters although sad about the hairbrush casualty.
Oh I don’t even want to think about holiday shopping! I’ll be doing most of mine online … as much as I love to browse there are just too many folks in the stores, especially at holiday times. Way too much for me! LOL
Happy Saturday all…
oh yes, BBBBobbio, my cousin reports that it’s been horrible down in the Tidewater; one pier lost a huge chunk, and the Blackwater river will probably flood it’s banks again in Franklin, which really doesn’t need that on top of everything else. Hope that today is the last day of bad high tides.
I’m up and waiting for the coffee to finish brewing.
It’s cold and frosty out. If lowland snow ever came down, it didn’t come down here. This is fine by me!
I don’t think we have any real plans for today, laundry, tidying, that sort of thing, but I don’t think we have any big weekend plans. Again, this is fine with me.
Men can be so clueless sometimes, Haze. On the other hand, you should just tell him in a nice way what’s on your mind. They don’t look at things the way we do and it may not have ever crossed his mind.
Happy Satiday all. I’m going to cruise the net for a bit and enjoy the peace and quiet that is currently filling my house. I’m the only one up.
I made it home from Toys R Us - it was manic in there. Man French kids are obnoxious - my French failed me at one point after I had been polite and as I was so annoyed I may have cursed at one set of parents whos kid took me out at the knees riding a pedal car out of control and unsupervised
Anyways wine is being consumed now so I am feeling better.
boofae hubby is about as unenthused about the thought of seeing me on Friday as I am about seeing him.
So it’ll be pretty laid back when you and hubby meet up again, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, right?
Boys are weird, Haze. But you knew that, right?
Went to a cool craft fair with a friend this morning and bought…stuff for me. This is not a sign of successful Christmas shopping. But they had these cute little sandwich wrappers that were only $5 each. I’ve been meaning to buy some online, but these were cheaper and local and nicely made, so I went ahead and bought them.
Gotta get out into the garden to clean up. But I don’t feel like it. It’s lovely out, but I’m feeling lazy.
Nice quiet weekend just went ::POOF::. We’re going out to dinner tonight with our pals that we went to Kauai with. I burned all the pictures we took to CDs for them and we plan to give each of them one. Plus, we inadvertently packed one of their souveniers in our suitcase, so we need to get that back to them as well.
Howdy Y’all! It’s the weekstart!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! Plus it’s so nice out that I envision hangin’ out on the back porch time when the invitees get here around five-thirty. Speakin’ of which, I guess I better ummm… go cook the stuff I plan on feedin’ 'em. They’re a persnicketty bunch and apparently prefer to eat cooked food.
mmmmmm’s it disappoints me to see you so ho-hum about seein’ hubby. I mean, really, try to get up just a little enthusiasm!
BBBobbio the MMP would be nuttin’ without your dirty juvenile mind!
Ok, everything is on schedule. I got the nummy cheese/bean dip stuff in the oven. I need to take it out shortly and test taste. Gotta make sure it’s ok to serve! Plus, I’s hongry! Oh and baked beans and hashbrown casserole are bakin’ away also. BBQ is done. Beer is iced. Sangria is chilled. Da Bear done made a partay!
Where is rigs? I’ve been trying to figure out who hasn’t been here lately (since I’ve been one of that number myself for a while) and it just hit me I haven’t seen her around in a few weeks.
I’m grooving to some music recorded by a guy I went to grad school with. www.deantuck.com. He’s really good in a folksy kind of way.
swampy, darlin’, much as I lurves you, there ain’t no #&(%^@&* way I’m gonna paint your living room. Just a few minutes ago, I washed my paintbrush, having put a second coat on the living room, two coats in the hallway, and the first coat on the return air vent. I am absolutely exhausted.
**FCD **and daughter installed the vanity cabinet and put in some of the trim in the bathroom. Then they did a water change in the aquarium. Taz supervised everything, and Scruffy followed me around. Ziva has been hanging out under the table that I moved into the family room.
Tomorrow, I’ll clean the carpet in the living room. It’s supposed to be sunny and warm, so I can open the house and it should dry pretty fast. Monday, I’ll need to touch up some of the molding from where I dripped a little bit. Maybe. If I feel like it.
I’ve also got to do laundry tomorrow - I’ve got 2 baskets full to overflowing and only 2 clean pairs of jeans left. At least it’s easy enough to do laundry while carpet-cleaning…
After my sweetie gets out of the shower, I plan to hop in and get cleaned up before assuming the knit position. I’m too old for this manual labor crap.
Let’s see if I can help. Since like age 16 I was usually Lurker - named that by another biker who said I showed up everywhere (like a bad kopek?) but never really belonged any particular place. I’ve been without cars for half of my years but never without a bike - until like age 21-22 every winter I added a sidecar and chains. I’m a sort of rare creature — a left-wing Christian. Even without the lions (who aren’t doing nearly as well as my Vikings are) we’re a sort of endangered species.
Yesterday the Indian and the Nigerian and a Nigerian lady who was visiting the Nigerian were in the kitchen at the same time as I was. The Nigerian told the Nigerian lady to just put the wet dishes on the pile of dry ones (judging by their gestures) and she told him their version of “are you nuts?,” which she was in a much better position to do than me.
And then I took out the trash, and when I came back the Nigerians weren’t there and the Indian asked whether it’s me who “changes the trash”, and I said yes, and he said “why?” and I said “it’s us students who have to do it” and he said “oh, I didn’t know that” and I pointed to the DIN A4 on the wall. You know, the one that says things like “the kitchen is cleaned by the cleaning service once a week, students must: take out the trash, clean the stovetop directly after using it…” Apparently reading the notices on the notice board is too much work.
They may end up semihousebroken at some time, I guess.
This year’s hibernation is strange. On one hand, I’m tired real early (normal) but on the other I can’t sleep more than 8 or 9 hours, so I’m up at ungodly hours too. Bleach, blurf and so forth.
kopek, the only reason you think a left-wing Christian is a rara avis is that you hang out with the wrong people. Perhaps even in the wrong country
Just got home from the hospital. My cervical smear came back showing “severe dyskariosis (CIN3) and possible glandular neoplasia (adenocarcinoma in situ)”, aka I might have cervical cancer but, Sod’s Law being what it is, I have my period this week, so I have to wait until next week to go to the gynaecologist for colposcopy and (joy!) a cone biopsy.
Doggone, Dotty!! Good thoughts coming your way…
We had a minor flood last night. Long story short, a fish got sucked into the pump, causing the sump to overflow into the cabinet and on to the carpeting. I’m thinking we should have tiled the area where the tank is sitting… Anyway, I am cleaning the carpet today, so there’s that, but when we eventually get around to recarpeting, I’m thinking we will tile that one area.
Meanwhile, **FCD **is heading to get a few items for finishing the bathroom. I’ve got my first load in the washer and I just got me some caffeine. I need to get out the toilet, remove the old innards clean it up, and install the new innards. Not something I’m looking forward to, but it’s got to be done. Plus I need to empty the dishwasher and refill it. And, of course, clean the living room carpet.
The sun is rising - first time in a week I’ve seen big ball of fire in sky! It’s supposed to get near 70 today, so I’ll be opening windows, perhaps for the last time this year.
Man, I haven’t even started, and already I’m beat… Happy Sunday.
