The n00bing of the MMP -- a tale of hubris and temerity

Well, don’t know when I’ll be back on next. Everybody have a great weekend!

Spidey, Pentecostisn’t until June 8.

**Spaz **- BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Afternoon, mumpers! Yay for shed moveage, moooom - what are you going to do next?

I have managed to prise all but one of the exam papers out of the hands of the academics, just got a bit of text to tidy up on the last one then they can all go off to printing and I can wave goodbye to them.

It’s a slow day today, not a lot going on and we are all counting down the hours until hometime. Four hours for me.

Nuts - go back to education, it sounds like that’s what you really want to do, there are some well-funded healthcare courses out there and it will get you into a decent job at the end of it all. The pachyderms and zombies will just have to cope without you.

Gotti, option three sounds like the most obvious one provided the movers are competent and don’t do something silly like forgetting to secure stuff in the back of the truck before they hoof it across country for you.

Well, thats pretty universal go for it-ness

Unfortunately it does look like I might have already missed cut off for this year, which is not what the website said first off. Bah. I need to go talk to them anyway, as there’s probably extra requirements for ‘mature’ students (they ain’t seen my Lego collection). Maybe it’d be better to aim for next year, so I don’t wind up rushing onto the wrong course because it’s all I can get on late. Having a goal will make stoopid jobs easier to cope with anyway

In other news, I got my allergy test results back today- apparently I tested strong positive to… uhh… everything. Every single thing they tested for. This is almost certainly just the false positives they warned me about, however, so hopefully I’ll get the test designed for folks with allergic eczema soon, which may produce a sensible result.

It’s loverly and sunny today, and I’m hopefully digging a pond at the allotment - to try and save some tadpoles- but my housemates are supposed to be helping and they’re both still in bed possibly hung over. Hmmm.

Happy firday them what celebrate!

I am never, ever moving all my own stuff again. I am actually paying for a close friend to hire movers next month, because she’s got three kids, no truck, and she deserves to sit back and tell other people where to put stuff. As far as I’m concerned, almost any amount of money is worth the feeling of getting to the new place and not being too exhausted to unpack. Good luck!

Nuts, I often wish I’d gone back to school, but I am just not academically inclined, so I never have. I’m smart and I like learning, but I hate school. I say you go for it!

Spidey, Google Translate tells me you said something about my shingles, but I have no idea what you’re talking about. Unless you mean that slate that fell off our roof last week, in which case I’m totally creeped out because you’re stalking me and I don’t speak Czech.

. B. L. U. R. F. !!!

What she said ↑

I haz a happy because it is sunny and a high of 63 is predicted and I’M LEAVING IRK EARLY. And my boss doesn’t care cuz she’s “irking from home.” ::nudgenudgewinkwink::

Home with shed fixin’s. We’ve got the new roofing, the paint, and most of what we need for the ramp - we may need a couple more deck boards. I’m going to let it warm up a little more, then don gardening grubbies and get all my potted stuff planted. I think it’s all lilies from my mom, and I know exactly where I want it all. So yay for that!

Once that’s done, I’m thinking I’ll go inside the shed, remove the gazillion nails that the Easts pounded to the rafters and studs, sweep it out, and take down some of the shelving that’ll be in our way. I’ll also remove the shutters so I can clean them and paint them with the trim color. We’re supposed to get rain tonight - maybe tomorrow I’ll clean the outside of the shed in anticipation of painting. Incidentally, the theme is green - the shed will be a really pale green, the roofing is a darker green, and the trim pretty closely matches the roofing. Better than boring white with black trim I think.

The problem with breakfast before 6AM is that I feel a bit hungry at 9 - probably a good time for some yogurt…

Morning. I’m up and caffeinated. Work tonight.

Spaz,

Have fun, sticky

Happy Firday!

I’m at school today. My second-to-last day of school. I’m going to go home and then out to a concert tonight! The local university orchestra is playing The Planets by Holst. My friend will be playing the euphonium part.

Good morning all, although it’s nearly afternoon.

Not much happening today. But we’ve been promised that the contractor guy is coming back tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock (AM) to start ripping apart the porch roof to determine the extent of the water damage. So I guess I won’t be sleeping in.

The cee-mint pond is lookin’ good. I have added [del]shark repellent[/del] algaecide, and salt. Still kinda coolish though. The water temp is 62 Amurrkin. Also, I cleaned out some weeds from amongst the rocks surroundin’ it and sprayed roundup[sup]TM[/sup]. I have decided that’s enough outside stuff for one day. I must needs rest up for the makin’ of fish 'n chips later today.

Cool!

How much salt per gallon in your cee-mint pond, Swampy?

The shar…that is to say, a reef aquarium takes a half a cup of salt mix to yield a specific gravity of 1.025.

I have planted the contents of 10 or 11 big pots - not sure how many in all, but most had multiple plants in them. All told, I probably dug 30 holes, and I lost count of how many roots I pulled out. I’m pleased that just about everything survived, considering they sat outside unprotected in that nasty winter we just had. I suppose since they were all in a cart huddled together, it simulated being underground.

Once the planting was done, I walked around with the MiracleGro, sprinkling blue crystals around all of the roots. Then I flung the stuff around an established garden. We’re supposed to get rain tonight, and it’ll dissolve the fertilizing yumminess into the soil. Then tomorrow, I’ll spread mulch over everything to keep the soil moist.

Shortly, I need to empty the dishwasher, after which I’ll go yank nails and uninstall shelves in the shed. I expect to be exhausted in no time at all. I’m already achy - perhaps some tylenol before I begin?

**Midget **- The Planets is one of my favorites - right up there with Pictures at an Exhibition and the Grand Canyon Suite.

**swampy **- fish and chips sounds good. Maybe for supper we’ll have tuna and N.O.T. tots.

I’m back
It has been a morning!

It’s up to 70 degrees out, I need to open my window.
And speaking of open windows I’m glad I chose the house that is not in town because I forgot just how noisy it can get when the windows are open.

I need to get busy on things but my head is spinning from looking at my list of things to do. I’m forgetful too, I was pissed at my nieces for not responding to a text message and then I saw that I never hit send. There are some Casino job opportunities opening up in the area, one is offering free tuition and the other is offering tuition reimbursement if you get hired. Both girls need good jobs and they need to check it out.

A friend of a friend wants to meet for dinner next Thorsday and since I am in the middle they are coming to the armpit to meet. I have been informed that I have to choose the restaurant LOL The friend of my friend has no idea what she has done, asking me to decide. I think I will choose the local dive, the food is good and inexpensive, there is no atmosphere although if the weather is nice maybe we can sit outside.
Oh well, I have a week to make that decision. Maybe I’ll pick the fancy place with real tablecloths and the yummy cream of crab soup. Then again there is the Seafood/Mexican fusion place I’ve been wanting to try, The Jalapeno Crab.

I have to choose my health care plan today. It may come down to eeny meeny miny moe, that method of choosing may be as good as any.

Oh well up and Adam - that is what I always thought my father was saying and I had no idea what Adam had to do with it and why no Eve.

**sari **- I was going to tell you that the house across the street from me just went on the market, but I know it’s our of your price range. We bought here before the bubble got crazy, or we couldn’t have afforded it on 2 engineers’ salaries! But if any Mumpers have an uncontrollable desire to live by me, I’ll link you to the listing!
