I went to work today and the kitten had been looked at by the vet on duty and she sedated him and opened up his eyes to see if he has any and he does but he did have ulcers on both eyes. His conjunctive is less swollen so you can see his eyes a little now. He’s such a sweetie and I did get a couple pics on my camera phone and even managed to get one to email me but now livejournal is down and that’s where I post my pictures. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post it soon.
I left work early today, a full day is still too much for me right now.
Good luck with the apartment, Haze. Cloud Maiden better not have her head so far in the clouds she messes it up for you. I’m not so concerned about seeing the catfight, though; it might make it hard to move around in here, with all the drool all over the floor from our lusting male counterparts.
Thanks for the sympathy on the foot. The knitting’s doing fine; at least the pattern is turning out right. But man, it’s hard to deal with this foot without my Lidoderm. I’ve been using that stuff on it on a daily basis for several years now, and it’s just astonishing how much it quiets it down. Stoopid mail order pharmacy.
That’s a bummer about the car, LiLi. Any chance you could take a train? (Maybe to Chicago and then have them pick you up?) (I want you to have your fun vacation!!!)
Welcome Fearless. Hmmm…gotta work on a nickname there.
Hi Taters!
I’m falling asleep, but my brother is supposed to call me. Guess it’ll have to wait till tomorrow…
Y’know - they’re starting a new season of Who Wants To Be A Superhero…
I skimmed because you all are too damn chatty, and I am now, once again, completely blocked at work - so I will only be posting at night. waaaaaaahhh
Appropriate reactions, noises, and snarky comments as warranted.
The suggestions about Cloud Maiden and I getting into a catfight are very amusing in light of the fact that people expected her to take Scottish Darling’s place as my rumored lesbian lover. :dubious: For the record, Cloud Maiden, for all her absentmindedness, is hot.
Thanks to all of y’all’s good wishes, I think we’ve gotten the apartment thing sorted out. Her SO should be in contact with the processing office tomorrow morning. crosses fingers
I need a vacation. Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow. Then I can go to the beach.
I am almost done with my project–all that whining and it took me all of 2 hours. <smacks self>
work in the morning, then a very busy rest of the week–going out of town on Friday.
Haze-supposed to be nice out tomorrow.
I have never tried naan, but it sounds great.
Does “amusing” mean “not going to happen and therefore, can’t bet on the action”?
Congrats, VunderBob. You must feel pretty damned good about yourself.
Lili, I had no idea that Lebanese and Greek baklava were different, or rather I didn’t know there was more than one variation. I found a picture of the Greek baklava and it didn’t look like what I’m familiar with. Here’s what I’m familiar with: baklava And the only difference I could find about the differences were here
So what does Lebanese baklava look like and how does it differ from Greek. I remember when **Mork ** talk about it. That didn’t even sound like the baklava I’m familiar with.
Fearless, welcome to the MMP. I noticed your join date and then looked at the amount of posts, and assumed you must have been here before so you snuck in without a proper [del]initiation[/del] welcome.
bobbio, congratulations!! I had no doubts. I hope you enjoy being an EMT.
Hey all, it’s been a great day. After the sweet smell of strawberries and other fruits, I went off to the garden nursery and happened by the Monrovia rose section. More wonderful smells. :::boing, boing, boing::: (bouncing around in olfactory joy) I took some fruits over to my neighbor and she seemed happy. And now my day is winding to a close.
Have a good night everyone!
(Good morning, Special1! Are you still talking to me after I made fun of you earlier?)
Stop with the Lebanse baklava! Between Haze and her girlfriends–I keep reading it as Lesbian baklava.
And getting kinda squiked out by the thought of lesbian pastry–cream filling and all, dontchaknow…
and now to bed, since I’ve most likely worn out my welcome here by now.
Hmmm - Fearless Leader??? How about Fraidy-Cat? ::snerk:: I got nothing!
Well, it’s about 8am and Noor is back down for her morning nap. Still not entirely out of the woods with her diarrhoea, but we are not sure if it is partly because of the antibiotics, which apparently include diarrhoea as a side-effect (WTF???). Anyhoo, 2 more doses left of the anti-bees (today and tomorrow) then back to the doctor for another check-up and stool sample. We will see …
Naan. Ummmmmmmm - me love naan, specially butter naan - eevil food! But then I also love parathas and roti and turkish pide and focaccia and ciabatta and panino, &c. &c.
Ooohhhh, and baklava - more evil!!! Drowned in rosewater sugar syrup! Still, I would rather eat cheesecake, but beggars can’t be choosers!
Well, I think today is gonna be Swedish Meatball day - I just can’t hold back. The prospect of eating meatballs where the breadcrumbs are soaked in cream first is just irresistible! God, I wish I was breastfeeding - would make the weight control soooo much easier!!! Particularly seeing it’s too damn hot to walk outside and gym memberships are too expensive, so the only exercise I get is running up and down the stairs a dozen times a day (still not enough!).
But first, I need to do some dishes and wash and sterilise some bottles. I also need to empty the kitchen bin, which contains the remains of yesterday’s disastrous pasta lunch. We went to MIL’s for lunch, so I decided to throw together a bechamel pasta dish to take (hubby loves pasta with bechamel). Weellll, I used fidellini (kind of like angel-hair pasta) but I think it wasn’t quite properly cooked and then I didn’t rinse it, so when I mixed it with the bechamel (with some frozen mixed veges) it turned into a large pot of glurge, which looked vaguely reminiscent of dog vomit (the kind that your dog pukes up after scoffing a whole bowl of wet food, washed down with a litre of milk). I had to add nearly an extra pint/500mls of water to get it all to loosen up! Tasted okay after I added in about 8 processed cheese slices! Whaaat??? I wasn’t gonna waste the good cheese on something that was gonna end up at MIL’s place!!!
