Y’all have slowed down! I get to work this monring to find we’re already on page 2, and eight hours later, we’re still on page 2.
Guess everyone’s off reading that book. Eh, not me. I can watch and enjoy the movies, but I’ve not developed the interest to read the books. Looks like I was wrong about UPS last Friday. Weird scheme they used - apparently, Amazon drop-ships books in bulk to local post offices by UPS, and the mailman brings it on the regular delivery schedule. To move that many little boxes, it’s probably far more efficient and far easier to keep track of things that way.
My current aggravating home improvement project is putting tint film on the living room windows so we’re not in so much of a greenhouse. Step One was to remove the previous owner’s attempt, which was done with purple stuff, and only on the upper clerestory windows. Ick. Just ick.
For anyone who’s not done window tint, it’s simple enough, but a royal pain in the tuchus! It’d be no problem for an octopus or two, but the ballet of spraying the stuff, peeling the protective plastic off, spraying the glass, spraying the film some more, not letting the film curl and touch itself before getting it onto the glass, centering it on the glass, squeegeeing the bubbles out, trimming the edges and cussing at the speck of airborne dog fur that got in the middle of the window… It’s impossible for one person, and not at all simple for two.
Not at all squee-worthy! Just squee-gee, over an over, chasing bubbles. But, once it’s up, there’s a noticeable difference in heat coming in, so we’ll save buckets of $$ on air conditioning. The stuff claims to keep out 99% of UV, so that should help prolong the life of the drapes - they shouldn’t fade much now. Our kitchen curtains went from moss green to pale lemon yellow in less than a year from the sun.
