The oddly satisfying little things of life.

The taste of cold milk following a bite of fresh from the oven home-made chocolate chip cookies.

Taking off my shoes after being at work all day.

That first loooooong stretch of the morning.

Puppies.

Feeling the sleeping world roll beneath my tires on some long stretch of highway.

Walking through snow at 4am

The clattering sound the T makes.

The feeling when a project passes the critical point, after which it’s just documentation and clean up.

The first cool, rainy day that breaks the oppressive heat of a hot spell.

A mug of strong, steaming tea with milk and sugar.

The sound of a sprinkler in the summer.

Campfires

Finding long lost friends

Hearing songs from the summer of your 16th birthday

Baby hugs

Baby butts

Clean sheets

Finding money in the washer, hamper, or couch cushions

New socks

Jeans that fit

Old pictures

Mostly feminine or parent oriented, but oh well -

The natural smell of a baby’s skin.
Scratching your legs after removing itchy nylons
Back and foot rubs given without having to ask
The smell of early summer flowers while moving along a tree canopied road (walking biking, cycling, convertible)
Climbing into a bed with fresh clean sheets after just taking a shower
Hearing your child laugh with abandon, especially if you instigated it
Feeling the deep boom of fireworks resonate in your chest
Staying cuddled under the covers on a brisk crisp morning
Anyone who has nursed – feeding your 4-6 month old baby at your breast and gazing into each other’s eyes.
The feeling of a baby quietly drifting off to sleep in your arms
Sleeping with someone in the spoon position.
The wonderful release of a good tickle fight.

Being called by my given name by my hubby.

The smell of freshly mown grass.

The smell in the air after a late afternoon summer rain.

Baking pumpkin pies on a crisp autumn day.

Hubby massaging my feet.

Hearing my grandson exclaim “My Grandma!” as he hugs me up soooo tight.

Sitting on the back porch sipping an ice cold beer after mowing.

Washing myself off with the hose after mowing then jumping in the pool.

Grilling burgers, dogs, chicken, steaks, etc. I love to grill.

Lying in bed with a certain someone in the dark when he puts his arms around me

Sheets and towels fresh out of the dryer

Biting my tongue to keep from busting out laughing when I’m dopin’ at work

Ahh ha, it was you that did that. Finding out who ate the point off your pie.

Waking up in the morning with the cat curled up behind my back, and my SO curled up in front of me.

Watching the idiot in the sports car weaving dangerously through traffic, only to get pulled over by the trooper parked behind the bridge.

Fresh sheets + clean, shaved legs = happy

Saturday morning, in bed, rain falling outside and cats coming up for cuddles

That first sip of cold, cold juice in the morning (first thing to drink that day) and goes down so cold you can feel the entire outline of your esophagus and top part of your stomach.

The little ‘o’ jockeymutt’s mouth makes when he sings along with me.

The corn chip smell of jockeymutt’s feet.

The curtains blowing in on a slightly warm summers day.

The sound, smell, and breadth of the ocean.

The sound of my camera shutter clicking.

Mrs. Jockey’s signature perfume (paloma)

Waking up in a tent (which I haven’t done in too many years)

Driving barefoot.

Making eye contact with a non-domesticated animal.

Blowing my nose, and blowing, and blowing, and then expelling the entire mass of offending mucus into the kleenex in one sticky wad.
monstro, re your site, I love your style of illustration.
