Awesome episode.
He prefers them au naturale - swing low, sweet chariots
Awesome episode.
Thanks Jeff, that makes sense.
And how about Pam as Secret Assistant to the Regional Manager. I never would have guessed how well that worked out for everybody. Us included.
I’m so glad that Jan didn’t end up being pregnant. When I saw her boobs that’s the first thing I thought of.
Michael’s interview was hysterical. ‘My weakness is that I care too much.’
Ryan! Ha Ha Ha.
The deleted scenes on nbc.com are pretty cute, too. Phyllis has Jim on her “list” along with George Clooney, Keanu Reeves and "that British guy who got into trouble with that prostitute. But Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration knows about it, so it’s okay.
I love how the Schrute Bucks had “Motivational Tool” under Dwight’s picture. Too perfect.
This episode showed a bit of tenderness between Pam and Dwight, which has been teased at a few times before.
I definitely thought Karen would get the job at Corporate – I guess that’s what we were set up to think. My prediction was that Jim would end up telling David that Karen was by far the best choice for the job, much like Tim told Neil that Gareth would be better-suited than him to take over Wernham Hogg in the BBC version. However, I intrepreted the ending as Jim and Karen breaking up and Karen staying in New York (with her friends), since Jim drove back alone and apparently returned immediately to ask Pam out.
If you thought Jan was sexy tonight, you NEED to check out http://www.melora.com !
Oh yeah – Michael selling his condo to a very enthusiastic buyer on eBay (for 80% of what he paid!), and then telling Jan he could probably back out of the sale, although he would most likely get negative feedback. As an eBay seller, that just about killed me.
That’s what I get for not staying with it to the absolute last minute. This is too great.
I think Karen’s ok, but I’ve always wanted Jim and Pam to be together. I hope there’s no Evil Karen next season.
I’m buying whatever available-on-DVD seasons for my Dad for Father’s Day.
So did Jim just leave Karen in New York? I want to see that missing scene when he told her. And I know he told her something. Jim isn’t the type to just bugger off and leave her without a word.
She can take the bus from Port Authority back to Scranton. She ditched him, IMO. You don’t leave your boyfriend right before he goes into a huge interview.
(And to think I liked Karen at the beginning of the season and almost rooted for her over Pam.)
E.
I admit it, I DID root for Karen. And I don’t think it was so bad that she left him before his interview – she already had hers and was essentially done, and she had friends to visit during a rare trip into the big city. I imagined they would just get back together later in the day; no harm done (at least not by that).
The ratio of Stanley Nickels to Schrute Bucks is the same as the ratio of unicorns to leprechauns. I love Stanley.
Dwight’s ideal choice for his second-in-command would be Jack Bauer. Except that he’s unavailable, fictional and overqualified.
how can you just not love Pam? Her and Karen are like the Ginger/Mary Ann of the new century. Girl next door, or glamour model? Give me the girl next door anyday!
What a great show! Absolutely awesome ending with Pam and Jim!
As for Karen:
Rashida Jones is on a new show that was picked up for the fall - so we shouldn’t see her too much in the future!
I thought they would make it clear that Michael sold the condo to one of those advance-fee scammers.
Just like corporate, to hire Ryan because of his MBA, despite his having no experience. I can’t wait till he has to come visit and review things with Michael.
One of my favorite moments was Dwight’s lecture, with Kevin waiting a split second before other people answered questions before chiming in. Just like in school! “A very long series of lectures about paper”
Yay for Pam!
No, those work by someone being offered a price WAY above the asking price, and then wanting you to wire them the difference. Michael said that he only got 80% of what he paid. I think the “motivated” buyer was motivated by the 80 cents on the dollar deal he was getting.
And what was the point of asking the interviewees to bring in their sales figures if they offer the job to a guy who hasn’t made a single sale? I do think that having Ryan as Michael’s boss will be great, though. I can’t wait to see Ryan giving Michael some payback for the man crush that Michael has had on him.
Oh, I think having Ryan as Michael’s boss is going to be a disaster. I think Ryan is going to try to “manage” Michael with all his fancy MBA book learnin’ when Michael and his team are perfectly capable of brining in the sales figures on their own.
The Scranton branch of Dunder-Mifflin may be personally disfunctional, but they get results and I thing Ryan is going to screw that up.
Oh, from a business perspective, I agree 100%. I meant “great” from a comedy perspective.
Then you and I are in agreement on that as well.
That may be what I like best about this show. I mean, the intersection of the sets “good salesmen” and “salesmen who are not dysfunctional” ain’t big.
