Beautiful. I can’t wait to see Ryan as Michael’s boss, he certainly won’t forget the coffee thing.
Ah, so that was him on the street?

I just looked up her filmography on IMDB and realized where I’d seen her before in her youger days – she played Abigail Fuller on one of my very favorite sets of episodes of Quantum Leap (the three-parter called “Trilogy”). Abigail was the main character in that set of stories, and she played the adult version of her in parts 2 and 3. Cool!
I liked how the corporate guy said that everyone there hated their HR guy, too (poor Toby).
Some bad news about Jenna Fischer:
Let’s hope so. I admit playing that last interview scene with Pam over and over because her final expression was absolutely priceless.
Huh.
When that scene played live, and you saw someone come into the frame just after the “Lorne Michaels” conversation, I figured it had to be him.
But when I rewound it and went frame-by-frame, I didn’t think it looked a thing like him. Granted, I’m not an expert on all things Lorne Michaels, but I’m very surprised to hear that it was him.
"Wait, ummm, how were you going to moon us if you were driving?
“Cruise control.”
Wow, missed that about Fischer’s fall. That could be a lingering thing.
Yeah, and that should be really interesting – especially considering that, last we heard, Ryan has still never made a sale.
Karen was much more qualified for that corporate job, but of course they are going to give it to the inexperienced dork who thinks he’s much more knowledgeable than he really is.
And her father is Jerry Hardin, Deep Throat on “The X Files.” Must’ve got her looks from her mother because she is seriously hot.
Especially if he looks and sounds just like them, and the last woman in the position proved to be “unstable”.
I didn’t even know that Ryan had earned his MBA yet. Part of me thinks that he hasn’t, and that, when that fact comes to light, he won’t get the big promotion (but in a twist you find only on TV, he’ll still be at Scranton instead of shitcanned entirely). But the more I think about it, I’m probably just wrong, and he does have his MBA, and the comedic tension between him and Michael (foreshadowed by the “coffee” exchange at the end of this episode) will be a big plot driver for Season 4.
Wow, this season finale got me more excited than any other season finale for the past, I dunno, five years. And it delivered. What a fantastic show.
I love the exchange rate of Stanley nickels to Schrutebucks. It almost sounds like something that would have been said on the SDMB
I love how they include a realistic character like Stanley among personalities you would only see on TV shows.
I love Stanley. People like Stanley are the ones who keep the world going round.
Me too on Stanley. Plus Phyllis.
What a meltdown for her over this season. She was so professional and corporate (the acting was perfect) and to see her like this is disturbing. And it just shows what a sham it all was, for her to end up saying what unfair assholes they are. I wonder about those pills she’s taking and their effect.
“Maybe I’ll make our relationship my full-time job. I’ll wear stretch pants and greet you at the door at 5:15.”
Coincidentally, here is today’s Dilbert.

My favorite line of the episode was Michael running into the conference room to tell the women: “We’re at DEFCON 20!”
Explanation:
It’s funny because the DEFCON numbers work the other way. Highest state of readiness is DEFCON 1 and lowest is DEFCON 5. So, 20 would be way off the scale trivial and unimportant.
I thought the episode was very funny.
But I am not sure how I feel about everything yet.
(How awesome would it have been if Jan said “Say goodbye, to these!”)
(Ok, maybe not that funny, but it woulda been awesome for us fans.)
I was actually expecing a Kitty Sanchez moment as well.
Being a salesman is not the same thing as running a business. Michael clearly sucks at the latter.
